Dolores Duran - Dolores Duran Canta para Voce Dancar (1957)

I'm a really busy parrot today and against my will, we will have a reposting day at Loronix. However, this is a really important repost, which is the fist out of two albums recorded by Dolores Duran to Copacabana in this "Canta para Voce Dancar" series. This first was released in 1957, and the second, a year later in 1958, being this first my favorite. Let's see.

This is Dolores Duran - Dolores Duran Canta para Voce Dancar (1957), for Copacabana, presented here as an early 60's SOM release, a Copacabana subsidiary. Dolores Duran delivers beautiful renditions of a repertoire based on Brazilian and international standards. Maestro Severino Filho from Os Cariocas is in charge of arrangements and orchestra conduction. My highlight goes to 02 - Por Causa de Voce (Antonio Carlos Jobim / Dolores Duran) and the four Billy Blanco compositions, everything detailed bellow on track listing. Tracks include:

- Scapricciatiello (A. Vento)
- Por Causa de Você (Tom Jobim / Dolores Duran)
- Ohô-ahâ (Gletz / Feltz)
- Quem Foi (Nestor de Hollanda / Jorge Tavares)
- Feiura Não É Nada (Billy Blanco)
- Que Murmuren (Cardenas / Fuentes)
- Coisas de Mulher (Chico Baiano)
- Viens (Gilbert Bécaud / Charles Aznavour)
- Conceição (Dunga / Jair Amorim)
- Se Papai Fôsse Eleito (Billy Blanco)
- Mi Último Fracaso (Alfredo Gil)
- Camelot (Billy Blanco)
- Only You (A. Rand / B. Ram)
- Estatuto de Boite (Billy Blanco)
