Simonetti e Seu Conjunto - Accarezzame (1958)

Hello, Good Evening! It has been a while since we do not make one of those Para Dancar (For Dancing) albums, a very popular style in the 50's and early 60's. Think about the world in the 50's, no TVs available, the radio delivering orchestral and instrumental music and everybody waiting for the weekend to party at ballrooms. People use to buy these records to stay tuned with the music of the ballrooms and even dancing on private parties at home with Para Dancar albums.

The style was so important that even a mighty Maestro such like Henrique Simonetti made his rendition to it. Simonetti is Italian and the repertoire features only Italian songs. This is my pick to start this Sunday.

This is Simonetti e Seu Conjunto - Accarezzame (1958), for RGE, the first Simonetti release at Loronix with no orchestra, just backed by Conjunto RGE. The Italian songs selected by Simonetti are very beautiful and also very hard to write down (this is a joke). Conjunto RGE delivers nice renditions to each song on top of Simonetti arrangements. Musicians are not credited and a very well played accordion gives that Italian atmosphere. Tracks include:

01 - Accarezzame (P. Calvi / Nisa)
02 - Malatia (Armando Romeo)
03 - Chella' Llá (S. Taccani / U. Bertini)
04 - Che 'me 'mparato a Fa' (A. Trovajoli / G. Verdi)
05 - Arrivederci Roma (R. Rascel / Garinei / Giovanini)
06 - 'na Voce 'na Chitarra e 'o Poco 'e Luna (C. A. Rossi / U. Calise)
07 - Vogliamoci Tanto Bene (R. Rascel)
08 - Anema e Core (Manlio)
09 - Musetto (P. Saka / Domenico Modugno)
10 - Malafemmena (De Curtis)
11 - Guaglione (G. Fanciulli / Nisa)
12 - Picolissima Serenata (Ferrio / Amurri)
