Neusa Maria - A Melhor Cantora de 1956 (1957)

I like these celebration albums released by the old Brazilian record labels, perhaps it is my collector's side that drags me into this type of records. Here we go on Sinter's celebration of the 6th anniversary of the first Brazilian LP release in 1951 and instead of making a compilation with several artists, Sinter released a compilation of the acclaimed Neusa Maria, a Brazilian singer that I had the chance to know at Loronix with the help of the great Mr. E. Let's see.

This is Neusa Maria - A Melhor Cantora de 1956 (1957), for Sinter. Neusa Maria was elected by Jornal O Globo as "Detentora do Disco de Ouro" and by Club dos Cronistas do Disco as "A Melhor do Disco em 1956". Two great credentials for a great singer that released few and very hard to find albums, most of them in the 10-inch format. Such like this one. Tracks include:

01 - Nunca Jamais (L. Guerrero / Vrs. Nelson Ferreira) Bolero
02 - Que Será Será (Jay Livingston / Evans / Vrs. Nadir Corte Real) Valsa
03 - Culpada (Ivan Pires / Orlando Belsoli) Samba
04 - Siga (Fernando Lobo / Hélio Guimarães) Samba
05 - Arrivederci Roma (Rascel / Gariner / Giovannini / Vrs. Julio Nagib) Bolero
06 - 31 de Dezembro (Fernando Lobo / Evaldo Ruy) Samba
07 - Última Canção (Guilherme Augusto Pereira) Fox-slow
08 - Decepção (Ibrahim Sued / Mário Jardim) Samba
