Paulinho Nogueira - Paulinho Nogueira (1965)

Hello, good evening! I had a crazy week, with lots of things to do and I can’t believe how fast these five days passed so quickly. When I was a kid, my grandfather said that as long as we get older as fast the time goes away. That’s what I’m feeling. I remember Christmas as it was last week. Anyway, Jorge Mello comes to please us again with another of his awesome albums, featuring an artist of great appreciation at Loronix, Paulinho Nogueira. Let’s see.

This is Paulinho Nogueira – Paulinho Nogueira (1965), for RGE, featuring an instrumental Paulinho Nogueira with a reduced percussion accompaniment in charge of Radamanto and Rogerio. This is the kind of album that grabs your attention at the first hearing; Paulinho Nogueira performs a repertoire of well known bossa nova cuts, including his rendition of Luiz Bonfa’s Manha de Carnaval and Paulinho’s Bachianinha Nr. 1. My choice to Loronix Preview Center is 06 – So Tinha de Ser com Voce (Antonio Carlos Jobim / Aloysio de Oliveira). Tracks include:

Personnel

Paulinho Nogueira
(violao, arrangements)

(percussion)
