I will never understand why zecalouro forgets some essential albums from the Bossa Nova age. This one is a perfect example. Meet Chico Feitosa - Chico Fim-de-Noite Apresenta Chico Feitosa (1965), for Forma. This is the only LP released by this great singer. Chico Feitosa had everything ready to make a great career as a singer, he was present at the first Bossa Nova show in Carnegie Hall (USA), Chico released this wonderful LP, but since then, he did not release more albums, changing his career to jingles production and journalistic activities.
Chico Feitosa compositions have been recorded by many renowned artists, such as: Luiz Bonfá, Baden Powell, Pery Ribeiro, Alaíde Costa, Elza Soares, Wilson Simonal, Tim Maia, Maysa, Elza Soares, Maria Creuza, Marisa Gata Mansa, Tamba Trio, Sérgio Mendes e Maria Bethânia, among others. Take a careful attention to this LP and you will see how delicious it is. Tracks include:
01 - Fim de Noite (Chico Feitosa / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
02 - Canção do Olhar Amado (Chico Feitosa / Marino Pinto)
03 - Caminho (Chico Feitosa / Marcos Vasconcellos)
04 - Borboleta (Chico Feitosa / Marcos Vasconcellos)
05 - Abandono (Chico Feitosa / Marcos Vasconcellos)
06 - Ilusão (Chico Feitosa / Marcos Vasconcellos)
07 - Inquietação (Chico Feitosa)
08 - Sou Só Saudade (Chico Feitosa / Marcos Vasconcellos)
09 - Canto (Chico Feitosa / Marcos Vasconcellos)
10 - O Amor Que Acabou (Chico Feitosa / Luis Fernando Freire)

Um Show de Bossa em Bossa-Copa - Various Artists (1965)
Another great Caetano Rodrigues contribution to Loronixers. Once again, Caetano will take you by surprise, such like he did with me. Meet Um Show de Bossa em Bossa-Copa - Various Artists (1965), for Copacabana, with Banzo Trio, Lita, Cecy, Miriam Ribeiro, Jorge Neri, Jorge Eduardo and Carlos Sodre.
There is an amazing story about this album, which is the debut LP of these seven artists. They were "carefully" selected by Copacabana "artists-hunters" to make part of their new label Bossa-Copa, tailored for new artists. According with Copacabana, these seven new names were carefully selected to be future stars of Copacabana cast. I'm asking you to check the outcome of this great enterprise.
In spite of this story, we have a great album here, with Banzo Trio performing on all tracks a great instrumental Bossa Jazz. Tracks include:
01 - Garota Moderna (Evaldo Gouveia / Jair Amorim) with Banzo Trio
02 - Terra de Ninguém (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle) with Banzo Trio

Fats Elpidio - Piano Bossa Nova (1960)
Sorry friends, I could not resist to another trombone release. This is not exactly a trombone LP, but has the arrangements of Carioca and the mighty Nelsinho do Trombone, which is entertainment guaranteed. By the way, another nice released provided by our great friend Caetano Rodrigues. Very beautiful.
Meet Fats Elpidio - Piano Bossa Nova (1960), for RCA Victor, also, the first Fats Elpidio release at Loronix. Fats Elpidio is a Brazilian pianist and composer, also known as Pernambuco, started his career in 1930 at Orquestra de Jonas Silva and among many contributions for Brazilian music he is also credited to be the first to perform a Jazz concert in Rio de Janeiro at Fluminense Football Club.
Caetano is always surprising zecalouro with these jewels. I admit that I never heard a Fats Elpidio LP in my life and I can say that any serious Brazilian music collector should open a slot to Fats Elpidio. Fats discography is huge. He recorded some LPs in the late 50's as Fats Elpidio e Seu Conjunto that should be amazing picks.
Piano Bossa Nova has arrangements by Carioca and Nelsinho leading top-notch musicians: Fats Elpídio (piano), Del Loro (guitarra), Ari (trompa), Maurílio (piston), Ari Ferreira (flute), Luis Marinho (bass), Plinio (drums), Aurino (sax tenor) and Barão & Gilberto (percussion). Tracks include:
01 - Meditação (Tom Jobim / Newton Mendonça)
02 - Samba de Uma Nota Só (Tom Jobim / Newton Mendonça)
03 - Bossa Novíssima (Tutuca / Ivan Paulo da Silva "Carioca")
04 - Pior Pra Você (Evaldo Gouveia / Almeida Rego)
05 - Chora Tua Tristeza (Oscar Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini)
06 - Presidente Bossa Nova (Juca Chaves)

Lira do Mestre Lula - Natal Alegre (1962)
Well, people were asking for a Christmas LP and I say that I'm not the best parrot in town to release Christmas LPs. I decided to ask for the always great help of my friend ClaudiaB from Cantos e Encantos website. ClaudiaB made her best, digging her giant music for kids collection to gather something more specific to Loronixers.
The outcome is Lyra do Mestre Lula - Natal Alegre (1962), for Musidisc, a Christmas LP with a Loronix flavor, thanks for this contribution Claudia B. Maysa - Maysa Canta Sucessos (1960) with Orquestra RGE & Maestro Simonetti
The last post with the French singer Sacha was wonderful, and also useful bringing to us a wonderful blog by the Loronixer PELEON with some interesting records, such as Sacha Distel singing in Spanish and a never seen Maysa EP. I invite you to make a try at PELEON website (http://rincon45.blogspot.com).
It was there that I could remember a Brazilian diva not released at Loronix for a long time. This Diva is Maysa with Maysa - Maysa Canta Sucessos (1960), for RGE. Jose Luciano, Seu Piano e Ritmo - Sambas (1955) 10'
This is a really old record, probably one of the oldest at Loronix. Actually, the oldest is Dalva de Oliveira - A Voz Sentimental do Brasil (1953), but this has something special, it is an instrumental album with piano, the record label is the legendary Mocambo including the little house with the name Mocambo on wood and it is the debut record of a unknown – at least for zecalouro - artist.
This is Jose Luciano, Seu Piano e Ritmo - Sambas (1955), for Mocambo, as said the debut LP of the pianist Jose Luciano. I could not search additional information about Jose Luciano with this computer crash, but you will read at the linear notes that Jose Luciano started at the age of six in 1938, worked with Dorival Caymmi and Luiz Gonzaga on radio and was discovered by Mocambo folks while testing a piano on a record store. That's it. Tracks include:
01 - Risque (Ary Barroso)
02 - Nem Eu (Dorival Caymmi)
03 - Feitiço da Vila (Noel Rosa / Vadico)
04 - Carinhoso (Pixinguinha / João de Barro)
05 - Aquarela do Brasil (Ary Barroso)
06 - Palpite Infeliz (Noel Rosa)
07 - De Cigarro Em Cigarro (Luis Bonfá)

Manfredo Fest Trio - Manfredo Fest Trio (1965)
I was wondering today if I could keep the "agreement" of a Samba or Bossa Jazz LP a day without DVD backup. For my surprise this LP was not included on backup and it is the first time I'm happy for missing one. This is Manfredo Fest Trio - Manfredo Fest Trio (1965), for RGE, a very early Manfredo Fest LP that you cannot miss.

Sonia Lemos - Sonia Lemos e Sua Viola Enluarada (1968)
I read today at CBox a message by The Emperor Klessius Leao asking for a LP. Just below, Arara Azul wrote that Klessius, The Emperor, was absolutely right. Well, with two legends saying that this record is essential to Loronix, let’s see why.
Meet Sonia Lemos - Sonia Lemos e Sua Viola Enluarada (1968), for Philips. Sonia Lemos started her career in 1967, releasing a EP with Geraldo Vandre songs recording this release one year later. For reasons that I could not search, Sonia made a seven years recording hiatus, releasing 7 Domingos for Chantecler in 1975, with a cover showing her full face, really beautiful such like this one. I'm asking for additional help to The Emperor and Arara Azul, they should come later to share more details about Sonia Lemos. Tracks include:
01 - Maria da Favela (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
02 - Zero à Esquerda (José Orlando)
03 - Manias (Flávio Cavalcanti / Celso Cavalcanti)
04 - Pelas Ruas do Recife (Novelli / Paulo Sergio Valle / Martinho da Vila)
05 - Saia do Caminho (Custódio Mesquita / Evaldo Ruy)

5 no Balanco - 5 no Balanco (1964)
Hello, Good Night! This is another release that will provide several discussions, provided by Caetano Rodrigues. I always thought that this LP was some sort of compilation or VA. I was wrong. 5 no Balanco - 5 no Balanco (1965), for RCA Victor, is in fact the first and only LP released by this group, probably a quintet.
I could not find on my searches who are 5 no Balanco members and I hope someone comes with the answer since this LP is great, a nice instrumental Samba Jazz with piano, bass, drums and a brass section that will make Loronix blowers really surprised. Tracks include:
01 - 5 no Balanço (Orlann Divo / Roberto Jorge)
02 - Vou Rir de Você (Hélton Menezes)
03 - Estamos Aí (Durval Ferreira / Maurício Einhorn / Regina Werneck)
04 - Fim de Semana Em Eldorado (Johnny Alf)
05 - Bolinha de Sabão (Orlann Divo / Adilson Azevedo)
06 - Mas Que Nada (Jorge Ben "Jorge Benjor")

09 - Miss Balanço (Hélton Menezes)
10 - Diagonal (Durval Ferreira / Maurício Einhorn)

Marisa - Marisa (1965)
Everybody will enjoy this record, such like zecalouro, another nice release sponsored by our great friend and Loronixer Caetano Rodrigues. This is Marisa - Marisa (196?), for Equipe. You will probably associate this LP with a same Equipe release with the cover bellow, which is the one that everybody knows. According with Caetano, this amazing green and robotic cover was issued first and it is very hard to find.
Marisa is accompanied, actually made this record together with her husband at that time, Cesar Camargo Mariano, in charge of the arrangements and artistic direction. Jongo Trio also makes a solid contribution to this record, participating on tracks 01, 02, 03, 04, 09 and 11. Cesar Camargo Mariano plays piano and acoustic guitar with Saba (bass) and Toninho (drums) from Jongo Trio on tracks 02, 03, 05, 06, 07, 08, 10 and 12. Tracks include:

Mr. Samba and His Rhythmic Skindos - This is Bossa Nova (1963)
It is strange that we are having two Mr. X. contributions in a row, but with the computer problem, it was impossible to make different. Anyway, Mr. X. decided to bring this time to Loronix one of his "Mr." friends, really amazing, this is Mr. Samba and His Rhythmic Skindos - This is Bossa Nova (1963), for RGE, once again, a Brazilian LP with an English title.
I don't know who is Mr. Samba and His Rhythmic Skindos, but this name is just hilarious for those who understand Portuguese. Mr. Samba released two LPs for RGE and this is the second. The cover shows Brasilia City for a not known reason. Rubens Perez "Pocho" arranged this LP and I bet my cents that he is the mysterious Mr. Samba. Tracks include:
01 - Manhã de Carnaval (Luis Bonfá / Antônio Maria)
02 - Chorando Chorando (Édson Borges / Armando Cavalcanti)
03 - Solução (Raul Sampaio / Ivo Santos)
04 - Descendo o Morro (Billy Blanco / Tom Jobim)
05 - Por Causa de Você (Tom Jobim / Dolores Duran)
06 - Solidão (Tom Jobim / Alcides Fernandes)
07 - Samba do Orfeu (Luis Bonfá / Antônio Maria)
08 - Confidencia (Raul Sampaio / Benil Santos)
09 - Foi a Noite (Tom Jobim / Newton Mendonça)
10 - Mal de Amor (Raul Sampaio / Benil Santos)
11 - Batucada (Luis Bonfá)

Carioca and His Orchestra - Bossa Nova on Fire (1963)
Hello, Good Night! Today I'm feeling really tired. I slept badly last night, less than two hours. The name of the disease is called "computer problems". A big problem this time. I have been with computer for the last twenty years and I never loose a battle with them. I will make another round tonight, but I'm afraid to loose. It is a minor problem, a DVD-ROM attached with as a USB device isn't working anymore. Corrupted ATPI drivers that I know by heart how to replace are not working. The final solution is a full SO reinstall with all customizations made to Loronix on the drain.
Sorry about this, I'm really disappointed and sometimes is good share with Loronixers some feelings.
Anyway, let's forget it for the next 5 hours, another Loronix day is just starting, starting great with another Mr. X. contribution. This is Carioca and His Orchestra - Bossa Nova on Fire (1963), for Musidisc. I'm not translating the title, for a reason that I do not know why, both artist and record name is in English. Perhaps Nilo Sergio and Maestro Carioca had the international market on their minds. The production is great, nice cover artwork, superb sound quality and 320Kbps MP3s provided by Mr. X. Tracks include:
01 - Ginga Nº 7 (Ivan Paulo da Silva "Carioca")
02 - Nunca Mais (Ed Lincoln / Silvio César)
03 - O Barquinho (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
04 - História (Nilo Sergio)
05 - Pergunte ao João (Helena Silvia / Milton Costa)
06 - Samba Toff (Orlann Divo / Roberto Jorge)
07 - Samba Em Brasa (Ivan Paulo da Silva "Carioca")
08 - Amanhã Eu Vou (Nilo Sergio)
09 - Mulata Assanhada (Ataulfo Alves)
10 - Parti (Ed Lincoln / Silvio César)

Sonia "La Unica" - En Bossa (196?)
I was afraid to ask Caetano Rodrigues for more information about this artist and this LP. I made searches, sent e-mails and nobody could even say a word about it. I just spoke with Caetano to understand Sonia "La Unica - En Bossa (196?), for RCA Victor, Mexico.
Who is Sonia "La Unica"? We know that she is from Mexico. Mexico is very well represented at Loronix with almost 600 visits from Mexican friends so far. We have a great chance of getting some info from Mexico; so if you are a friend from Mexico, please, feel free to tell us who is Sonia "La Unica".
The LP is great; Sonia sings Bossa Nova standards in Portuguese, English and Spanish with the accompaniment of Orquestra de Luiz Eca in all tracks. Another nice release that will get many friends by surprise. Once again, any information about Sonia "La Unica" is much appreciated by Caetano Rodrigues and zecalouro. Tracks include:
01 - Dindi
02 - Upa Neguinho
03 - Sabia
04 - Reza
05 - Porque Tu no Estas
06 - Camino a San Jose
07 - Rapido
08 - Corcovado
09 - Arrastao
10 - Com Aquel Amor
11 - Duas Contas
12 - Quem Quiser Encontrar o Amor

Mike Falcao e Seu Conjunto - No Embalo do Samba (1966)
Hi again. The last Os Ipanemas EP has generated many discussions. This is great. Let's move forward with another nice pick, the third record and probably the last released by Mike Falcao for Imperial, now as Mike Falcao e Seu Conjunto, in fact, Walter Wanderley using a nickname to get rid of contractual obligations.
Meet, Mike Falcao e Seu Conjunto - No Embalo do Samba (1966), for Imperial/Odeon. Pretty self-explanatory release. I just want to add that I'm looking for the second Mike Falcao LP, Mike Falcao e Sua Orquestra de Danca - Jato ao Redor do Mundo with uncertain release date. Tracks include:
01 - Estamos Aí (Maurício Einhorn / Durval Ferreira / Regina Werneck)
02 - Upa Negrinho (Edu Lobo / Gianfrancesco Guarnieri)
03 - Vem Chegando a Madrugada (Zuzuca / Noel Rosa de Oliveira)
04 - São Salvador (Durval Ferreira / Aglaê)

Os Ipanemas - Os Ipanemas (1964) EP
This release closes the amazing series of three EPs sent by our great friend Caetano Rodrigues to Loronixers. Once again, something that most of us could ever realize the existence. This EP, for instance, is not included on any discography. I could only find a reference on gemm.com, which seems to be the best place for search Caetano's impossible to find records.
Meet Os Ipanemas - Os Ipanemas (1964) EP, for CBS, with a song never released in any other record, including the 1964 LP for CBS, Batida Diferente. Just to refresh our memory, Os Ipanemas is the legendary instrumental band that features Astor Silva (trombone), Marinho (bass), Wilson das Neves (drums and percussion), Rubens Bassini (drums and percussion) and Neco (acoustic guitar).
Os Ipanemas LP is available at Loronix, highly recommended; check the 06 August 2006 archive, it is right there. Tracks include:
01 - Garota de Ipanema (Antonio Carlos Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
02 - Berimbau (Baden Powell / Vinicius de Moraes)
03 - Kenya (Astor Silva / Rubens Bassini)
04 - Batida Diferente (Durval Ferreira)

Raul de Barros - Brasil Trombone (1974)
Everybody is having a great time with Elza Soares - Com a Bola Branca (1966) and the trombone arrangements of Maestro Nelsinho do Trombone. It is time to revisit another great Brazilian trombonist, meet Raul de Barros - Brasil Trombone (1974), for Marcus Pereira.
We had some Raul de Barros releases when Loronix were just beginning, for the latecomers, Raul de Barros was very important to Brazilian music, recording more than 40 LPs. He is strongly associated with the old Rio de Janeiro and the gafiera nightclubs, some kind of Brazilian big bands with a very swinging instrumental music based on trombone solos.
This LP has also the participation of the legendary Abel Ferreira at sax and clarinet. Tracks include:
01 - Na Glória (Ari dos Santos / Raul de Barros)
02 - Chorinho de Gafieira (Astor Silva)
03 - Voltei ao Meu Lugar (Carioca)
04 - Paraquedista (José Leocádio)
05 - Violão Vadio (Baden Powell / Paulo César Pinheiro)
06 - Saudade da Bahia (Dorival Caymmi)
07 - Bronzes e Cristais (Alcyr Pires Vermelho / Nazareno de Brito)
08 - Baltazar (José Benedito de Freitas / Oscar da Silva)
09 - Dora (Dorival Caymmi)
10 - Pó-ró-ró Pó-ró-ró (Raul de Barros)
11 - Folhas Secas (Nelson Cavaquinho / Guilherme de Brito)
12 - O Trombonista Romântico (Carlos Lima / Espírito Santo)

Lyrio Panicali - Panicali e as Novelas (1969)
Hello, Good night! I woke up in the mood of female singers today. Perhaps Luiza, released yesterday with a great reception, influences zecalouro. I'm not starting with a Diva but probably they should come up on later posts today.
This post is dedicated to a Loronixer that it is not very active in comments or Loronix Forum, but is a great friend of zecalouro and a big fan of Loronix. He is at Loronix since the beginning and only a couple of weeks ago he could show his credentials and also made this contribution. Thanks Douglas Regis for Lyrio Panicali - Panicali e as Novelas (1969), for Odeon.
What are Douglas Regis credentials? Douglas is a maestro and composer, starting professionally at the early age of 14. Take a look at Douglas blog at http://douglasregis.blogspot.com and check his resumee, sound clips from his music, albums, sheet and his contact info. Truly amazing. When I get older, I want to be such like Douglas.
Douglas will be taken by surprise reading this post; zecalouro is doing this just to let everybody aware that we have several young and good musicians waiting for a chance to make it happen in Brazil. zecalouro and Loronix will always support people like Douglas. Tracks include:
01 - Ponte dos Suspiros (Lyrio Panicali)
02 - A Última Valsa (Lyrio Panicali / Joluz)
03 - A Grande Mentira (Lyrio Panicali / Joluz)
04 - A Gata de Visón (Lyrio Panicali)
05 - O Homem Proibido (Lyrio Panicali / Joluz)
06 - Tema de Amor Em Forma de Prelúdio (Manuel Marques)
07 - A Rainha Louca (Lyrio Panicali)

Sivuca - Eis Sivuca! (1956) '10
Caetano has a great sense of humor. He sent to zecalouro a LP recorded on CD with 24 tracks and the enigmatic message written by his own hand, "ate a faixa 14", "until track 14". I was fine with the contents from tracks 01 to 14, but what those remaining tracks were there at the same CD?
I had to address Caetano to get the answer and the answer is Sivuca - Eis Sivuca! (1956) 10', for Copacabana, a unlisted record on several discographies, even on Sivuca's website, probably unknown by many friends. It is amazing how Sivuca is a gifted musician; this LP was record 50 years ago and features Sivuca alone with his accordion, no accompaniment. Great performances, including an adaptation of of Tocatta Em Ré Menor (Johann Sebastian Bach) and other Brazilian tunes including Dorival Caymmi, Patapio Silva, Luperce Miranda and others. Thanks Caetano for another wonderful release. Tracks include:
01 - Tocatta Em Ré Menor (Johann Sebastian Bach)
02 - Vôo do Besouro (R. Korsakow)
03 - Primeiro Amor (Patápio Silva)
04 - Tenebroso (Ernesto Nazareth)
05 - Quando Me Lembro (Luperce Miranda)
06 - Lover (Rodgers / Hart)
07 - Corrupio (Guerra Peixe)
08 - Música Em Carrossel (Tradicional)
09 - Coração (Felinho)
10 - Morena Boca de Ouro (Ary Barroso)

Luiza - Luiza (1964)
Here we go now with a very nice album sent by the mighty sabadabada.com. Luiza is a Brazilian singer that made this self titled LP and just disappeared from the scene. Luiza was an active singer and took part on several Brazilian Festivals in the 60's, the famous Festivais da Cancao.
This is Luiza - Luiza (1964), for RCA Victor. Luiza plays piano and acoustic guitar on this LP and is backed by a non-identified band. The arrangements are from Moacir Santos. Anyway, a great record presented by sabadabada that would make your day. Tracks include:
01 - Abandono (Chico Feitosa / Marcos de Vasconcellos)
02 - Sem Ter Por Que (Amaury Tristão / Roberto Jorge)
03 - Você (Ronaldo Bôscoli / Roberto Menescal)

Samba Trio - Samba pra Frente (1966)
The last days were so amazing that I did remember to keep my promise of posting a Samba or Bossa Jazz LP. Anyway, let's get back on trail with another obscure release for the always-surprising label Paladium from Minas Gerais.
This is Samba Trio - Samba pra Frente (1966), for Paladium, as usual, no much information is available about Samba Trio and this LP. Trix, since you live in Minas Gerais, any help is appreciated; the back cover brings the address of Paladim in the 60's, who know? I'm including the label picture this time just to show how plain Paladium is on making information available. Tracks include:
01 - Arrastão
02 - Consolação
03 - Naná
04 - O Morro Não Tem Vez
05 - De Manhã
06 - Só Tinha De Ser Com Você
07 - Reza
08 - Canto De Ossanha
09 - Gente
10 - Preciso Aprender A Ser Só
11 - Nôa-Nôa
12 - Samba De Verão

Os Bossais - Os Bossais (1963)
The first Roberto Menescal EP, Conjunto Bossa Nova - Bossa e Bossa released yesterday took everybody by surprise. The young faces of Roberto Menescal and his band mates were amazing, a very hard to find LP provided by the great friend of Loronix Caetano Rodrigues. A mystery was left, the identification of the faces available at the cover, completed solved by Anonymous in a matter of hours. Take a look at that post comments to check the whole and amazing personnel for that EP.
In the EP spirit, this is another release by Caetano that will also take many friends by surprise, meet Os Bossais - Os Bossais (1963), for Audio Fidelity, a vocal group that apparently had just released this EP and formed by Claudette Soares, Alaide Costa, Pedrinho Mattar, Mathias Mattos and Antonio Pinheiro, also very hard to find and a collectors item. I will never get tired to say many thanks to Caetano for another fantastic release. Tracks include:
01 - Quem Quiser Encontrar o Amor (Geraldo Vandré / Carlos Lyra)
02 - Minha Saudade (João Donato / João Gilberto)
03 - Barquinho (Ronaldo Boscoli / Roberto Menescal)
04 - Marcha da Quarta Feira de Cinzas (Carlos Lyra / Vinicius de Moraes)

Silvio Tancredi - Aneis de Fumaca (1963)
Among the several LPs that Caetano gave as a present to us, this is among the ones that I like most and probably, Caetano also has special feelings about this album. I've been with this LP for a week and I use to hear it every single day since then. Well, I will stop writing to make it straightforward, this is Silvio Tancredi - Aneis de Fumaca (1963), for Copacabana, a wonderful instrumental orchestra LP, arranged and performed by Silvio Tancredi with the participation of Geraldo Vespar (acoustic guitar), Raul de Barros (trombone), Formiga (piston), Sebastiao Marinho (bass), among many others.
This is the first record from this new Brazilian Maestro that I had the chance to hear and it is simply great. I have been searching for Silvio Tancredi with no success. Before releasing Aneis de Fumaca, Silvio Trancredi made another LP that was not released commercially for the flying company Sadia in 1970 as a Christmas gift. Tracks include:
01 - Anéis de Fumaça (Edman Ayres de Abreu)
02 - Capelinha no Vale (Edman Ayres de Abreu)
03 - Dissonância (Edman Ayres de Abreu / Silvio Tancredi)
04 - Sempre Pensei (Edman Ayres de Abreu)
05 - Despedida (Edman Ayres de Abreu / Silvio Tancredi)
06 - Insensatez (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
07 - Borboleta (Edman Ayres de Abreu / Silvio Tancredi)
08 - Recordações (Edman Ayres de Abreu)
09 - Saudade Fez Um Samba (Carlos Lyra / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
10 - Inconstância (Edman Ayres de Abreu / Silvio Tancredi)
11 - Sozinho (Edman Ayres de Abreu / Silvio Tancredi)
12 - Quando Ela Se Foi (Moacyr Silva / Antônio Maria)

Maria Creuza - Eu Disse Adeus (1973)
This is the first release of Maria Creuza, a Brazilian singer that was Vinicius de Moraes favorite interpreter. Maria Creuza started her recording career in the late 60's, reaching her peak in the 70's, releasing several albums and achieving success with several songs written by her husband, Antonio Carlos Pinto and Jocafi, from Antonio Carlos & Jocafi duo.
Meet Maria Creuza - Eu Disse Adeus (1973), for RCA, with one of her most successful songs, Apelo (Baden Powell / Vinicius de Moraes). Several Loronixers have requested Maria Creuza and this release is being made with the contribution of Arara Azul, which I want to say many thanks! Tracks include:
01 - Feijãozinho Com Torresmo (Walter Queiroz)
02 - Apelo (Baden Powell / Vinicius de Moraes)
03 - Canção da Volta (Antônio Maria / Ismael Netto)
04 - Janelas Azuis (Rildo Hora / Sergio Cabral)
05 - Nossos Momentos (Haroldo Barbosa / Luis Reis)
06 - Desespero (Antônio Carlos Marques / Jocafi)

Dorival Caymmi - Caymmi e o Mar (1957) with Sylvia Telles
I have a strong respect and admiration for Dorival Caymmi. Brazilian artists such as Joao Gilberto and Caetano Veloso also consider Caymmi the "root" of the great music we know here at Loronix. I cannot understand why Dorival Caymmi is not celebrated in Brazil and also worldwide as his peers, his sophisticated harmonies, and the way he fit lyrics with melodies with his guitar playing is unique.
Loronix has just a few Dorival Caymmi releases and I think it is time to fill this gap. This is Dorival Caymmi - Caymmi e o Mar (1957), for Odeon, with a different track 01, Historia de Pescadores with Dorival Caymmi, Silvinha Telles, Lenita Bruno, Odaléa Sodré Fernandes and Consuelo Sierra singing together several songs like a story. Caymmi e o Mar has orchestra arrangements by the Maestro Leo Peracchi e Sua Orquestra. Tracks include:
01 - "História de Pescadores" with Canção da Partida (Dorival Caymmi) -- Adeus da Esposa (Dorival Caymmi) -- Temporal (Dorival Caymmi) -- Cantiga de Noiva (Dorival Caymmi) -- Velório Val (Dorival Caymmi) -- Na Manhã Seguinte (Dorival Caymmi)
02 - O Mar (Dorival Caymmi)
03 - Dois de Fevereiro (Dorival Caymmi)
04 - O Vento (Dorival Caymmi)
05 - Saudades de Itapuã (Dorival Caymmi)
06 - Noite de Temporal (Dorival Caymmi)
07 - Festa de Rua (Dorival Caymmi)
08 - O Mar (Dorival Caymmi)

Conjunto Arpoador e Vozes - Samba de Todos os Tempos (1968)
Hello! Good night! This is the end of a sunny weekend in Rio de Janeiro as we did not see for several months. Beaches were full all day long and right now it is 7:16pm and the sun is still up. Tomorrow moring is the start of another working week.
I decided to start today with the first thing you will probably see tomorrow (it is a bird joke), meet Conjunto Arpoador e Vozes - Sambas de Todos os Tempos (1968), for RCA Camdem, according with linear notes, the main idea of this album is to make a new reading of old Samba tunes as they should be at the modern 1968 times.
The outcome is great; a chorus of female voices sings the lyrics with a consistent Samba Jazz accompaniment. This is the first and probably the only LP released by Conjunto Arpoador e Vozes that lines up renowned Brazilian artists as follows: Raul Mascarenhas (piano), Rildo Hora (acoustic guitar and harmonica), Reizinho (drums), Jorge Marinho (bass) and Coral do Joab (voices). Tracks include:
01 - Eu Quero Um Samba (Haroldo Barbosa / Janet de Almeida)
02 - Helena Helena (Antônio Almeida / Constantino Silva "Secundino") -- O Que É Que Eu Dou (Dorival Caymmi / Antônio Almeida)
03 - Gosto Que Me Enrosco (J. B. da Silva "Sinhô")
04 - Falsa Baiana (Geraldo Pereira)
05 - Você Foi Mais Uma (Cícero Nunes)
06 - Copacabana (João de Barro / Alberto Ribeiro)
07 - Vem Chegando a Madrugada (Noel Rosa de Oliveira / Zuzuca)
08 - Na Cadência do Samba (Ataulfo Alves / Paulo Gesta) -- Atire a Primeira Pedra (Ataulfo Alves / Mário Lago) -- Ai Que Saudade da Amélia (Ataulfo Alves / Mário Lago)
09 - Quem Te Viu e Quem Te Vê (Chico Buarque)
10 - Barracão (Luis Antônio / Oldemar Magalhães) -- Lata D'água (Luis Antônio / Jota Júnior) -- Zé Marmita (Luis Antônio / Brasinha) -- Alguém Como Tu (Jair Amorim / José Maria de Abreu) -- Está Nascendo Um Samba (Tito Madi / Romeo Nunes)
