I can't remember, but I think this is one of the most wanted LPs at Loronix ever, a really sought-after collectors item. I need to say thank you for two special dudes this time. First, Caetano Rodrigues, for hearing the prayers and heling Loronix to make it. Second, the bossanovadreamer, he has been dreaming with this item since Loronix started, now the dream comes true. Thanks bossanovadreamer for don't let zecalouro loose his hope during several months.
Anyway, the sharing spirit is bigger than the need to make a reasonable research about this post, so I will let with you, friends to add more information on it. This is Geraldo Cunha - Quem Tem Bossa Faz Assim (1966), for Audio Fidelity. Quem Tem Bossa Faz Assim also features Sambalanço Trio. While Loronix technicians are preparing the today's main attractions - two new and breathtaking releases by Caetano Rodrigues (c) - zecalouro wants to show a LP with several things to discover. Conjunto Balambossa - Nao Quero Ver Voce Triste (1974) with Ed Lincoln
Hello, Good Night! This is a perfect example of how the name "Bossa Nova" was misused by record labels along time. I bought this record today for a bargain and I was very happy to have it. Conjunto Balambossa released another LP by the label Coledisc called Poema do Adeus that is a classic instrumental music album. However, this is not Bossa Nova or a Bossa Jazz LP, but a slight opportunistic use of the term Balambossa on a record full of instrumental boleros with Hammond organ.
Anyway, according with sombras.com.br, the organist is Ed Lincoln and I decided to share just to please Ed Lincoln fans. This is Conjunto Balambossa - Nao Quero Ver Voce Triste (1974), for Coledisc, featuring the organist Ed Lincoln. There are nice moments provided by Ed Lincoln and some shady arrangements that were probably inspired by progressive rock music from the 70’s. Tracks include:
01 - Drink na Praia
02 - People
03 - And I Love You
04 - Nature Boy
05 - Fio de Esperanca
06 - Preciso Aprender a Ser So
07 - Nao Quero Ver Voce Triste
08 - The Shadow of Your Smile
09 - Adventures in Paradise
10 - Naked City
11 - Limelight
12 - Three Stars will Shine Tonight

Os Infernais da Bossa - E Balanco
I think that just a quick look at the cover and post title is enough to realize that this is another obscure, rare and amazing Caetano Rodrigues release. Very nice release. The first time I heard the name "Os Infernais da Bossa" was on that vinyl fair in Sao Paulo, Caetano told be. You are always learning something with Caetano. He said also that all LPs from this record label Exitos are very hard to find. I was invited and accepted the mission to participate on a hunt of more Exitos records. If you see other LP released by Exitos let us know.
This is the first and already legendary release from Exitos at Loronix, meet Os Infernais da Bossa - E Balanco (N/A), for Exitos, a very nice instrumental session full of brass arrangements by Maestro Nelsinho with a fine repertoire of Bossa Nova classics that provide a guaranteed entertainment at a first hearing.
Before introducing the musicians, I want to say that I'm here with the cover and back cover with no personnel information and a handwritten message from Caetano with personnel listing. The question is, how Caetano knows such things? I have been searching and talking with several friends about this personnel list and suddenly, Caetano has it ready and complete. Anyway, appreciate personnel listing, so good that I think it is the first time we have together Juarez Araujo, Astor Silva and Ed Maciel. Tracks include:
Tracks
01 - Se e Tarde Me Perdoa
02 - Barquinho
03 - Brigas Nunca Mais
04 - Maria Ninguem
05 - Fiz o Bobao
06 - Se Ela Chamar eu Vou

Quarteto Lambari - Quarteto Lambari (1966)
This post and the first of the day, by the sax player Domingos Pecci have a strong connection that I could realize together with Caetano Rodrigues and confirm later with some Internet research. Before we speak about this connection, I want to say that we have a very good LP by this obscure Bossa Jazz quartet that only a friend such like Caetano can provide to us. Thanks once again, Caetano, you will read zecalouro saying thanks several times during the next weeks.
Before listening to this album, I found interesting this beautiful name, Lambari, a Brazilian fish, a river in Minas Gerais and also the City of Lambari that is close to this river. Now I know that Lambari is the nickname Eduardo Pecci, top-notch sax player and son of Domingos Pecci, the kind of thing that you only realize when we pick together such as today.
Anyway, let's talk about the great music of Quarteto Lambari - Quarteto Lambari (1966), for Farroupilha, as I said, very nice instrumental set, led by Eduardo Pecci "Lambari" (sax alto) with Hilton J. Valente "Gogo" (piano), Roberto B. H. de Azevedo "capacete" (bass) and Hamilton Pitorri (drums). Eduardo Pecci is still making his life as a musician. I will search about the others later, all great musicians. Tracks include:
01 - Sonho de Carnaval (Chico Buarque)
02 - Amanhã (Walter Santos / Tereza Souza)
03 - Razão de Viver (Eumir Deodato / Paulo Sergio Valle)
04 - Mar Amar (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
05 - Ama (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
06 - Samblues (Durval Ferreira)
07 - Tempo Feliz (Baden Powell / Vinicius de Moraes)
08 - Estamos Aí (Durval Ferreira / Maurício Einhorn)
09 - Preciso Aprender a Ser Só (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
10 - Miss Biquini (Sylvio Mazzuca / Zuleika Amaral)
11 - E Vem o Sol (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
12 - Primavera (Carlos Lyra / Vinicius de Moraes)

Tamba Trio - Tamba Trio (1975)
Mr. Magoo strikes again with another contribution to address a recommendation started at Loronix Forum by Mikail. Mr. Magoo seems to be the invisible connection between Forum Requests and Loronixers. Let's see what Mr. Magoo has to surprise us tomorrow.
This is Tamba Trio - Tamba Trio (1975), for RCA Victor, I had the chance to had this LP before, but I made the mistake to take this as the same of the previous one for RCA, 1974, also known as the DC-10 LP. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this is the last Tamba LP as a Trio, please correct me. This LP has also the participation of Joao Bosco, singing track 03 - Ou Bola ou Bulica. Tracks include:

Angela Maria - Boneca (1965)
Without noticing, I think we are having a wonderful collection of covers today; this one is very beautiful with the Queen on a classy photo. Actually, I was missing Angela Maria, such as zecalouro's mother that heard this record last Christmas from start to end with the family singing all tracks by heart. She sings beautifully, not wonderful such like Angela Maria, but what was really amazing was her memory to remember all tracks lyrics and melodies by earth, truly wonderful time we had.
This is Angela Maria - Boneca (1965), for the great Copacabana, in my humble opinion, one of her best releases, with the participation of Os Guaranis on tracks 01 and 08 and several Maestros taking care of arrangements, Pachequinho on tracks 02 and 03, Ivan Paulo on 01 and 10, Pernambuco on 04, 06, 07 and 08, Carioca on 11 and Elcio Alvares on 05, 09 and 12. I hope you have the same great time I had with this LP. Tracks include:
01 - Falhaste Coração (Cuco Sanchez / Vrs. Luis Carlos Gouveia)
02 - Prelúdio da Lágrima Ausente (Orlando Silveira / Dalton Vogeler)
03 - Canção do Que Você É (Dora Lopes / Zairo Marinozo)
04 - Quero Sambar Um Samba (Ricardo Galeno)
05 - Boneca (Celso Clóvis / Antônio Marcos / Waldemar Soutello)
06 - Minhas Memórias (Ângela Storino)
07 - A Rodriguez (La Rodriguez) (F. Garcia / J. Morcillo / Vrs. Hubaldo Silva)
08 - Por Tudo Que É Sagrado (Evaldo Gouveia / Jair Amorim)
09 - Só Nós Dois (Joaquim Pimentel)
10 - Foi Sempre Assim (Othon Russo / Niquinho)

Walter Wanderley - Walter Wanderley e o Bolero (1962)
This LP is one of those that I could bring from the vinyl fair in Sao Paulo. However, away from his notebook and with a brain from the size of a nut, zecalouro could not remember exactly which Walter Wanderley record he was looking for. Since it was a bargain, he decided to bring it anyway and only arriving on his cage he could realize that he has hunting another record, which is Walter Wanderley - Sucessos + Boleros = Walter Wanderley (1966), for Philips, not this one.
Anyway, this is Walter Wanderley - Walter Wanderley e o Bolero (1962), for Odeon, with Walter Wanderley dedicating a whole LP to instrumental boleros renditions. Perhaps I was frustated for not bringing the right one I think this is one of the few Walter Wanderley LPs for, let me say, completionists. Personnel is not credited. Tracks include:
01 - Sabor a Mi (Álvaro Carrillo)
02 - Final (Paul Misraki / A. Hornez)
03 - Contigo En La Distancia (C. Portillo de La Luz)
04 - Solamente Una Vez (Agustin Lara)
05 - Senora (Orestes Santos)
06 - Causa Justa (Bolinha / Suely)
07 - Contigo (Cláudio Estrada)
08 - Sinceridad (Rafael Gaston Perez)
09 - O Trovador de Toledo (H. Giraud / J. Brejac)
10 - Una Aventura Mas (O. Kinleiner)
11 - Escandalo (Ruben Fuentes / R. Cardenas)
12 - E a Vida Continua (Evaldo Gouveia / Jair Amorim)

Paulinho Nogueira - Antologia do Violao (1976)
Hello, Good Night! This is a contribution from a Loronix friend that I was on waiting state since the end of October, Cellus is his name and he will probably get surprised of seeing his record here. A record that will probably make the day of those who enjoy the Brazilian guitar, o Violao Brasileiro.
This is Paulinho Nogueira - Antologia do Violao (1976), for Philips. Actually, this LP should be called Antologia do Violao Brasileiro, since Paulinho Nogueira explores and renders a nice tribute for the musicians that made the history of the Brazilian guitar, playing songs of Garoto, Toquinho, Luiz Bonfa, Canhoto, Laurindo Almeida, Baden Powell, Rosinha de Valenca, Dilermano Reis, Catulo da Paixao Cearense and Paulinho Nogueira, also member of this selected group. Miguel Angel - Samba na Onda (1965)
This nice Bossa Jazz LP featuring some of the best musicians from the 60's was on my radar for months, now it seems that is the time to release it to Loronixers, since it has gone out of print recently. Varios Artistas - Bossa 12 Vezes (1965)
Here is another cool record sent by Caetano Rodrigues to Loronixers, Bossa 12 Vezes (1965), for Farroupilha, mixing four different artists - really different - on a single LP, featuring, Jongo Trio, Leny Eversong, Conjunto Farroupilha and Bobby Mackay (completely unknown to zecalouro). Refer, if you can assist us on Bobby Mackay, we appreciate.
Have you ever stop to think how many good records were released in 1965? What a year! I like statistics and I think that it would be very interest if someone makes to Loronixers some kind of Loronix albums per year chart. I'm quite sure that we will see 1965 taking the lead over the other years. Tracks include:
01 - A Resposta (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle) - Conjunto Farroupilhas
02 - Aleluia (Edu Lobo / Ruy Guerra) - Leny Eversong
03 - Seu Chopin Desculpe (Johnny Alf) - Jongo Trio
04 - Bossa Nova (I Say) (B. Mackay / J. Bradford) - Bobby Mackay

10 - Gangazuma (Carlos Cruz / Almeida Rego) - Leny Eversong
11 - Garota Moderna (Evaldo Gouveia / Jair Amorim) - Jongo Trio
12 - The Girl From Sout Zone (Balanço Zona Sul) (Tito Madi / Vrs. B. Mackay / Vrs. D. Gordon) - Bobby Mackay
The Singers Inc. - Bossa Nova! (1963)
This is a nice record that is only here because I got amazed with this cover on Caetano's Bossa Nova book and I could track it down for Loronixers. In my opinion one of the greatest cover I have ever seen, very representative, with someone throwing away some records in favor of our lovely Bossa Nova, very funny.
Meet, The Singers Inc. - Bossa Nova! (1963), for Valiant, as people use to say, very groovy and nice vocals by George Tipton, Ian Feebairn-Smith, Perry Botkin Jr., James Bryant (The Singers Inc.), backed by Howard Roberts (guitar), Don Shelton (sax), Lyle Ritz (bass) and Larry Bunker, Milt Holland, Jerry Williams, Emil Richards, Chico Guerrero (percussion). Waldir Calmon e Seu Conjunto - Uma Noite no Arpege Nr. 2 (1957)
Hello, Good Night! It is hard to remember after some months, since the first Waldir Calmon LP out of his two "Arpege" series was made available at Loronix. I remember that time that someone came to me saying that his father, as a long time fan of Waldir Calmon, was really amazed to hear that record after several years and that he would me really thrilled if he could get the second one.
I did not forget this thing, Loronix was at the beginning and I got really impressed to make someone available on such way. That's the reason for Waldir Calmon e Seu Conjunto - Uma Noite no Arpege Nr.2 (1957), for Radio. It's a nice record, perhaps such like it was the music performed by Waldir Calmon on his Arpege nightclub. I was reluctant to share this LP; it was taken from a vinyl full of scratches that are still audible. However, the scratches do not spoil the experience. Tracks include:
01 - Samba no Arpège (Waldir Calmon / Luis Bandeira)
02 - Fantasia Carioca (Alcyr Pires Vermelho / Osvaldo Santiago)
03 - Apito no Samba (Luis Bandeira)
04 - Inspiração (Bruno Marnet)
05 - Foi Despacho (Sereno)
06 - Evocação (Nelson Ferreira)
07 - Dorinha Meu Amor (José Francisco de Freitas)
08 - Arrasta a Sandália (Osvaldo Marques / Benedito Lacerda)
09 - Jalousie (J. Gade)
10 - Adios Pampa Mia (Francisco Canaro / Mariano Mores / Pelay)
11 - Bicharada (Djalma Ferreira)
12 - Mambo En España (R. Marques)

Thelma - The Haunting New Voice From Brazil
Thelma Soares, Thelma, back to Loronix with her first US release, kindly provided by Caetano Rodrigues. The first Thelma LP is already here and the feedback was great. Let's see what happens with this one. Meet, Thelma - The Haunting New Voice From Brazil (N/A), for Columbia, a record that I could not identify the exactly release date and probably is uncertain for many.
By the time of Thelma first release at Loronix, her debut LP with the participation of Vinicius de Moraes, some friends thought that this LP was an international release with the same tracks, actually this is different and I invite you to check how it is. Tracks include:
01 - Samba do Carioca
02 - Samba de Uma Nota Só
03 - Corcovado
04 - Camará
05 - Chega de Mentira
06 - Garota de Ipanema
07 - Desafinado
08 - Deus Brasileiro
09 - Samba de Roda da Bahia
10 - Deixa

Som Ambiente - Som Ambiente (1972)
I made some research about this LP almost a year ago and for an unknown reason I forgot its existence to consider as a post. Came back to memory last year, actually, last Friday, and it is so cool that I decided to show to Loronixer with no other additional research.
Maybe I'm wrong but, Som Ambiente - Som Ambiente (1972), for CID, is in fact some sort of Azymuth embryo/early stage. I'm not sure about the whole personnel listing, but I have the assumption that Jose Roberto Bertrami organ can be heard in all tracks. The back cover says that Durval Ferreira is in charge of Artistic Direction. Another curiosity about this LP is a supposed photo of the legendary Marcos Valle at the front cover, that guy on a restaurant with a girl. If any Loronix friend has additional info about this release, please let us know. Tracks include:
01 - O Bofe (Erasmo Carlos / Roberto Carlos)
02 - Here's That Rainy Day (J. Burke / J. V. Heusen)
03 - Bossa Nova In Broadway (Dave Brubeck)
04 - They Long To Be (Close To You) (H. Davis / Burt Bacharach) -- People (Funny Girl) (B. Merrill / J. Styne) -- Mr Lucky (Henry Mancini)
05 - Love Theme From "The Godfather" (Speak Softly Love) (Nino Rota / L. Kusik)
06 - Where Is The Love (J. Dorn / A. Mardin)
07 - Águas de Março (Tom Jobim) -- Bala Com Bala (Aldir Blanc / João Bosco)
08 - Theme From "Summer Of 42" (Michel Legrand / A. Bergman / M. Bergman)
09 - By The Time I Get To Phoenix (J. Webb) -- The Shadow Of Your Smile (J. Madel / Paul Francis Webster)
10 - Days Of Wine And Roses (Henry Mancini / Mercer) -- Satin Doll (Duke Ellington) -- April In Paris (H. Duke) -- Lill'darling (N. Hefty)
11 - Live For Life (F. Lai / Norman Gimbel) -- Someday My Prince Will Come (Churchill / Morey)

Jean Kelson e Sua Orquestra - Berimbau & Bigorrilho (1964)
This is another one sent by a friend that I could not give the attention needed. This friend is not a Loronixer, so I have been postponing this LP for months. In fact, the new try I gave to it last week was born by the several wonderful orchestra LPs sent by Caetano Rodrigues in the last two months. Thanks to Caetano Rodrigues, zecalouro hears is now well trained to Orchestras.
This is Jean Kelson e Sua Orquestra - Berimbau & Bigorrilho (1964), for Copacabana, really nice piece of instrumental orchestra album with a proposition to blend orchestra arrangements with two peculiar percussion instruments, berimbau and bigorrilho. Nice idea, but the outcome is something close to bossa jazz with brass with foreground, mainly trombones.
Several doubts I have about this record should be solved with personnel listing, which I have been trying to track down with no success. Tracks include:
01 - Berimbau (Baden Powell / Vinicius de Moraes)
02 - Samba de Negro (Roberto Corrêa / Sylvio Son)
03 - Catolé (Murillo Latini / Bob Nelson)
04 - Munganga (Jean Kelson / Almeida Rego)
05 - Agô Agô (Milton Castro / Glória Felipe)
06 - Vou Pra Senzala (Milton Castro / Aloísio Santana)
07 - Bigorrilho (Sebastião Gomes / Paquito / Romeu Gentil)
08 - Saci Pererê (Rildo Hora / Marcos André)
09 - Vamos Bigorrilhar (Roberto Corrêa / Sylvio Son)
10 - Dança do Bigorrilho (Astor Silva / Othon Russo)
11 - Jogado Fora (João Mello)
12 - Na Base do Bigorrilho (Alcyr Pires Vermelho / Nazareno de Brito)

Dick Farney - Dick Farney Apresenta a Sua Orquestra no Auditorio de O Globo (1962)
Hello, Good Year! I hope that everybody had a great time at the turn of the year celebrations. zecalouro also wishes a very good new year to Loronixers.
Loronix is back to business and zecalouro decided with Caetano Rodrigues that the first post of the year should be awesome, starting great and with the right feet. This is Dick Farney - Dick Farney Apresenta a Sua Orquestra no Auditorio de O Globo (1962), for RGE, featuring Leny Andrade singing in English as a real jazz diva on three songs. Caetano said it is a wonderful pick, very nice music also very nice to track down.
I hope everybody gets pleased with this first release of 2007. Personnel’s listing is big and I decided this time to included with the music and features some renowned musicians, such as Altino da Luz Penteado (Garoto), Papudinho on piston, Rezala Jose (Turquinho), among others. Tracks include:
01 - Lover (Hart / Rodgers)
