We are back with Jorge Mello’s contributions, which are amazing in quality and also in size. I did not reach nearly half of the albums made available by him. Thanks once again, Jorge. This record was one of the first I prepared, but decided not to publish, since it was released earlier by Quimsy in his great Quimsy Mumbo Jumbo. However, I realized today with a back cover reading that Maestro Mário Castro Neves delivers arrangements and I could not resist on making at Loronix. Let’s see.
This is Sebastiao Tapajos – Sebastiao Tapajos e Sua Guitarra Cosmica (1968), for Forma, the third Sebastiao Tapajos career LP, produced by Joao Mello and arranged by Maestro Mario Castro Neves. The album opens with The Door’s Light my Fire, but soon turns back to the safe Brazilian music terrain with compositions by Sebastião Tapajos, Rildo Hora, Jorge Ben, Nonato Buzar, Antonio Carlos Jobim and others. Mario Castro Neves delivers creative and unique arrangements, actually, orchestrations, changing everything we are used to hear on standards like Wave and Zazueira. Tracks include:
01 - Light My Fire (Morrison / Manzarek / Densmore / Krieger)
02 - Rio das Ostras (Silveira)
03 - A Estrela e o Astronauta (Rildo Hora / Mário Castro Neves)
04 - Call Me (T. Hatch)
05 - Luar Em Veropeso (Tito Madi)
06 - Eu Quase Sozinho (Sebastião Tapajós)
07 - Cantiga de Errante (Rildo Hora / Heitor Quintella)
08 - A 200 P/h (Sebastião Tapajós)
09 - Zazueira (Jorge Ben)
10 - Wave (Tom Jobim)
11 - Sinhazinha (Nonato Buzar / Paulinho Tapajós)
12 -La Mentira (Álvaro Carrillo)

Challenge | Who is she?
Hello, good evening! A friend has left us this fantastic picture, saying it would be very important if someone could identify who is the girl that appears in the background watching the Gonzaga family, which in the photo is Luiz Gonzaga, his wife Helena and his son Gonzaguinha.
Even if we cannot identify who is she, the picture is awesome and worth to be here.
Hope uEnjoy!

Paulo Moura Hepteto - Mensagem (1968)
I would like to say "Hello, good evening!", but I really can’t. Two renowned Brazilian artists left us in a range of 5 days, drags me to a very sad mood. And on top of several things this is a week of unexpected hard work. In the other hand, life has been really good to our community in the last days with Loronix appearing once again on ESPN Brasil (the video is coming soon) and also at a very important website from a journalist that loves the music from Brazil such like us, Luiz Nassif that keeps us informed about everything that happens in Brazil and also Brazilian music.
Additionally, the friends from Paulo Moura website left a message asking our help to find out albums that Paulo Moura is looking for. I’m making this album available to Loronixers and also to Paulo Moura, which is his first LP in the legendary label Equipe. Let’s see.
This is Paulo Moura Hepteto – Mensagem (1968), for Equipe, featuring Paulo Moura alto sax forming a heptet with a constellation of top-notch Brazilian musicians. Tracks include:

J.T. Meirelles
We lost today another very important Brazilian musician, J.T. Meirelles, leader of the anthological Meirelles e Os Copa 5 one of the first Samba Jazz groups from the 60’s.
J.T. Meirelles was a gifted saxophonist, flutist and arranger and this is Loronix tribute to one of the fathers of Samba Jazz, Meirelles first album with Os Copa 5, O Som, released in 1964 by Philips, featuring J.T. Meirelles (tenor sax, flute), Pedro Paulo (trumpet), Luiz Carlos Vinhas (piano), Manoel Gusmao (bass) and Dom Um Romao (drums).
I am very sad to report the passing of two important musicians in such a short space of time.

Jards Macale - Aprender a Nadar (1974)
I had lunch today in a place that always brings very good memories from my early days. It is a restaurant, better a small shop inside a mall at Largo do Machado in Rio de Janeiro. I could remember what happened when I was there for the last time; I had the chance to talk several minutes with an artist that we use to call as a “multimedia” artist here in Brazil, Wally Solomão, poet, composer, writer and music producer, among several other things. I arrived home decided to make this album available to our community, perfect timing for another great contribution from the mighty AdHoc, and perhaps the best album recorded by Jards Macale, which includes several Wally Salomão compositions, credited here as Wally Sailormoon. Thanks Adhoc. Let’s see.
This is Jards Macale – Aprender a Nadar (1974), for Philips, produced by Jards Macale and Wally Sailormoon and arranged by Jards Macale. Aprender a Nadar comes with superb AdHoc quality standards, featuring perfect transfer, high quality cover scans, personnel and complimentary information on track listing. AdHoc takes the control today and introduces additional info and track listing, just before musicians in this really nice session. Tracks include:

Walter Santos
Walter Santos, one of the main artists of the early Bossa Nova years died last Friday, May 30, in the city of Sao Paulo. He founded with Joao Gilberto the vocal group Os Enamorados do Ritmo at the end of the 40’s decade, being close with Joao Gilberto until the end of the 50’s in Rio de Janeiro.
Walter Santos recorded two albums and left many compositions, including several Bossa Nova and Brazilian popular music standards.
This is Loronix tribute to Walter Santos and his debut LP, recorded in 1963 with arrangements and organ by Walter Wanderley.
