For reasons that zecalouro does not know, he woke up this morning with the Brazilian Maestro Erlon Chaves in his head. This is the second Loronix release of Erlon Chaves, the first you can browse the archives and look for a record called Sabadabada, which I recommend.
I have learned a long time ago: when something came to your head from the blue, you should follow and obey. That's what I'm doing right now, making available a LP from Erlon Chaves and his Banda Veneno, a chorus of 40 voices he assembled in 1971.
This is Erlon Chaves - Banda Veneno Internacional Nr. 3 (1973), with musical direction of Mazzola and arrangements by Erlon Chaves. Perhaps zecalouro is influenced with this wonderful cover artwork. Anyway, it is Saturday night in Brazil. Tracks include:
01 - Habanera (from the opera "Carmen") (Bizet) -- El Toreador (from the Opera "Carmen") (Bizet)
02 - Push Together (P. Els / F. de Prijck) -- The Cisco Kid (S. Allen / H. R. Brown / M. Dickerson / L. Jordan / C. W. Miller / L. Oskar / H. Scott)
03 - Long Train Runnin (T. Johnston) -- Soul Makossa (M. Dibango)
04 - My Love (Paul McCartney) -- Live And Let Die (Paul McCartney / Linda McCartney)
05 - Issmechú Hashamaim (Hebrew Tradition)
06 - Jingle Bells (Folklore) -- White Christmas (Irving Berlin)
07 - Killing Me Softly Wiht His Song (Norman Gimbel / C. Fox) -- Lost Horizon (Burt Bacharach / David)
08 - I Don't Live Without Your Love (N. Keys)
09 - Let Your Yeah Be Yeah (J. Cliff) -- He (Michaele / Lana / Paul Sebastian)
10 - O Show Já Terminou (Roberto Carlos / Erasmo Carlos) -- De Tanto Amor (Roberto Carlos / Erasmo Carlos) -- A Distância (Roberto Carlos / Erasmo Carlos)
Bom disco! O maestro Erlon Chaves me lembra "Um Instante Maestro", do Flávio Cavalcanti.Saudades!
