Straightforward, The LP The Girls from Bahia - Revolucion con Brasilia (1968) is a Quarteto em Cy LP. Quarteto em Cy adopted this name when the girls moved to US in 1967. Perhaps this strategy has failed since they have recorded in US by Warner just this LP. During their stay, Quarteto em Cy changed their repertoire to American standards versions and adapted English lyrics of Antonio Carlos Jobim and other major Brazilian composers.
After this international experience - probably very badly produced since the Spanish title was a big error - Cynara and Cybele left the group. This is a very curious and hard to find release. Tracks include:

Paulinho Nogueira - Brasil, Violao e Sambalanco (1960)
This is the late debut of the renowned Brazilian acoustic guitar player at Loronix, Paulinho Nogueira e Seu Violao - Brasil, Violao e Sambalanco (1960). Paulinho Nogueira is a awesome musician with a unique, delicate and soulful playing style. Paulinho was also the inventor of the "craviola" a instrument that mixes the sound of the harpsichord and viola, very common during the 70's.
Among many other things, including the creation of a book on acoustic guitar that was very famous in Brazil, Paulinho Nogueira was also responsible for giving guitar classes to Toquinho when he started giving music education in 1964. Paulinho Nogueira was a virtuosic musician who adapted a Brazilian feel to sophisticated acoustic guitar (violão) playing. He is distinctive for not having been influenced by jazz, as most popular Brazilian virtuosos have been. His playing was often reckless during his samba renditions, but he had a special bent on the ancient Brazilian musical tradition of doleful, tender, delicate interpretations, in which altered chords don't play a significant role. He recorded 27 solo albums and toured throughout the world, playing his violão for 50 years.
At an early age, Nogueira began to learn the violão. At 11, he joined his older brother Celso Mendes' group Kacique. Finishing his high-school studies, in 1950 he went to São Paulo city, playing at nightclubs such as Itapoã and presenting himself on radio stations Bandeirante and Gazeta as a soloist. In 1959, he recorded his first LP, for CBS. In 1964, he was awarded with Paraná's government-sponsored Pinheiro de Ouro trophy, repeating the accomplishment in the next year. In those bossa nova years, he was active both as a soloist and an accompanist; and was invited to the historic show recorded in May 25, 1964, O Fino da Bossa (released as an album under the same title), in which he shared the stage with names such as Alaíde Costa, Zimbo Trio, Oscar Castro-Neves, and others. The show was followed by a regular TV show, also called O Fino da Bossa, on TV Record. The show, hosted by Elis Regina and Jair Rodrigues, also included Nogueira as a regular accompanist. Recorded live, those shows, which had the biggest audience of their time, were released on another seven LPs, reissued later on CD. Nogueira's samba "Menino, Desce Daí," reaching millions through the massive TV broadcast, was his first nationwide hit. In 1966, Nogueira was awarded with the Prêmio Guarani by music journalists and critics.
In 1968, his book on violão method, which would have more than 20 editions through the years, was published. In the next year, he presented his project for a new 12-string instrument, called by him the "craviola" because it blended the sounds of a harpsichord (cravo) and a Brazilian viola (viola). The project was taken on by musical instrument manufacturer Gianinni, which still sells a large number of the units worldwide. In the same year, the major newspaper O Estado de São Paulo awarded Nogueira as Best Musician of the Year. In 1970, his composition "Menina" reached number one on Brazil's Top Ten, having also been a hit in Italy and France. In 1979, he participated in Cuba's Carifesta, an international festival of the Caribbean countries. In 1986, Nogueira released his Tons e Semitons series: violão solos recorded on LPs accompanied with sheet music. In 1990, he released another instructional project, pioneering the music education video in Brazil with Violão em Harmonia, soon followed by four other videos. In 1991, he participated in the International Guitar Festival in Italy. In 1992, Nogueira performed in the Guitars in Concert show, held in Naples, Florence, Campobasso, Milan, and Rome, which also featured performances by guitarists Gianni Oalazzo (Italian), Jorge Morel (Argentinean), and Joe Pass (American). In the same year, Movie Play released his CD Late Night Guitar. Also for that label, he released in 1995 the CD Coração Violão. In the next year, he was featured in Guitar Player magazine and toured through Brazil in the Brasil Musical project, together with names such as Arthur Moreira Lima, Egberto Gismonti, André Geraissati, Altamiro Carrilho, and Wagner Tiso. He continued to release albums, including Reflections in 1999, Late Night Guitar in 2000 and in 2003, an album of Chico Buarque compositions titled Primeiras Composicoes. Nogueira suffered a heart attack at his home in Sao Paulo and died August 2, 2003.

After working with many renowned Brazilian jazzists of that time, Julinho left Brazil for a short stay in the US with Paulo Moura, where they made connections with Dizzy Dillespie.
Coming back to Brazil, Julinho released his first solo LPs, O Som de Julinho, and this one Julinho - Seu Piston e Seu Conjunto 100% Bossa, which is Julinho plus Dom Salvador (piano), Robertinho Silva (drums), Luiz (bass), Neco (guitar) and Oberdan (sax). When zecalouro received this LP, came to his mind that it was another various artists or compilation. Big mistake, perhaps this can be considered one of the first Bossa Nova albums. Produced by Aloisio de Oliveira and arranged by Oscar Castro Neves, this LP was recorded with one purpose in mind, to introduce Bossa Nova and its main artists to the public.
O Conjunto de Oscar Castro Neves plays in all tracks. This also landmarks the first time Vinicius de Moraes puts his voice on a record in his career. Just to the records, this LP features Conjunto de Oscar Castro Neves, Carlos Lyra, Lais, Lucio Alves, Sylvia Telles and Vinicius de Moraes.

Some Loronix friends were asking for a Sivuca LP recorded in 1969 in collaboration with the Jazz clarinetist Putte Wickman. This is Putte & Sivuca (1969). Putte Wickman was born in Sweeden, his destiny was established by his parents that hope he would become a Laywer. For one of those facts that changes an entire life, Putte's mother gave in at the age of 15 a clarinet.

Luiz Henrique - A Bossa Moderna de Luiz Henrique (1964)
There are several nice Brazilian artists from the Bossa Nova age that is almost impossible to zecalouro to track and make available for Loronixers. Luiz Henrique is one of those, a Brazilian singer that had a great success in the 60's and made a consistent international career.
Luiz Henrique could not get a deserved recognition in Brazil and for zecalouro's surprise he died in 1985 in a car accident. zecalouro proudly presents Luiz Henrique - A Bossa Moderna de Luiz Henrique (1964), his debut LP. Tracks include:

Os 3 Morais - Os 3 Morais, Volume 2 (1968)
Mr. X made it again, now with Os 3 Morais - Os 3 Morais, Volume 2 (1968). Loronixers had the chance to get along with a previous Os 3 Morais release on a few posts below, Os 3 Morais debut LP - at least with the name "Os 3 Moraes" - from 1967. Here we have their second LP. The line-up stills the same: Sidney Morais, Jane Morais and Roberto Morais.

Ronald Mesquita - Bresil 72 (1972)
This is Ronald Mesquita debut at Loronix, Ronald is a Brazilian drummer, active since the early 60's when he founded Ronie's Quintet with Tenorio Jr. (piano), Sergio Bastos (guitarra), Sergio Pinto (bass) and Marcio Cintra (clarinet and flute).
Ronald Mesquita was also member of the legendary Bossa Tres with Luiz Carlos Vinhas (piano) and Otavio Bailly (bass) and Bossa Rio, just after the ending of Bossa Tres activities. The tireless Ronald also performed in the US with Walter Wanderley and Bola Sete, recording the LP Fantasy.

Corisco e os Sambaloucos - Outro Show de Bossa (1963)
zecalouro had to make some kind of homework to introduce this LP to Loronixers. This is Corisco e os Sambaloucos - Outro Show de Bossa (1963). A great instrumental LP, rich and full of unusual percussion instruments and some other surprises, such as: violins and the Brazilian berimbau.
The man in charge of this group is Waldemar Marchetti aka Corisco and Sambaloucos is Heraldo do Monte (guitar), Dirceu (drums), Antipático e Radamanto (percussion), Ditinho e Gagliardi (trombone), Bolão e Piper (sax), Hamilton (piano), L. Chaves (bass), Maguinho (piston) e Lambari (sax).
Corisco and Sambaloucos were active from 1962 to 1967, releasing a couple of LPs that are sought by every serious Brazilian Jazz fans and collectors. zecalouro is very curious about your findings. Tracks include:

Another fine release from the mysterious Loronixer, the same great user that gave us Simonetti and that recent Samba LP of Dalva Barbosa. Let's call the Mysterious Loronixer as Mr. X from now one. The gift is Carolina Cardoso de Menezes, debuting at Loronix with Carolina Cardoso de Menezes - Teleco Teco (1957), an instrumental piano album full of Sambas.

An artist who, with her unique rhythm feel that is not shared with any pianist of her generation, helped to blur the line that divides the popular from the erudite. Carolina Cardoso de Meneses had a formal pianistic education, but dedicated herself to work in the popular field. Her solo piano albums draw from previous sources of the same approach, like the composer Ernesto Nazareth, who had his works recorded by her in her Música de Ernesto Nazareth and other albums. She worked with Garoto and the Trio Surdina and was one of the first musicians to adapt the jazz idiom to Brazilian music; she was also one of the precursors of the bossa nova movement. She was one of the pioneers of Brazilian rock, having released her Brasil Rock in 1957. She had success with her instrumental compositions (her biggest hit in this genre being 1942's "Eu Sou Do Barulho") and her songs with lyrics (mostly by Armando Fernandes) were recorded by singers like Francisco Alves, Ângela Maria, Orlando Silva, Sílvio Caldas, Isaurinha Garcia, Cauby Peixoto, and Wanderley Cardoso. She accompanied many national big-time artists in radio and theater performances and also accompanied the international stars Josephine Baker, Pedro Vargas, and Charles Trenet in their Brazilian tours. In 1968, her marcha-rancho "Aquela Rosa Que Você Me Deu" (with Armando Fernandes) had the second place at the II Concurso de Músicas de Carnaval da Cidade da Guanabara (the old name of the city of Rio de Janeiro), interpreted by Ellen de Lima. In the '90s she was still active, having recorded her last CD in 1997, Preludiando.
Daughter of pianist Osvaldo Cardoso de Meneses, Carolina Cardoso de Meneses began her formal piano studies at 13 after years of self-teaching. She graduated by the Instituto Nacional de Música in 1930 and continued to study (theory and harmony). In the same year, at age 14, she participated in the historic recording of the samba "Na Pavuna" (Almirante/Homero Dornelas), when, for the first time, a batuque was recorded at a studio with the full percussion set. She was hired by Rádio Sociedade do Rio de Janeiro and also worked in several of the most important stations of that time, hosting her own show O Piano da Carolina at Rádio Nacional. In 1931, she wrote and recorded the music of the film Mulher (Otávio Gabus Mendes). In 1932, she recorded her composition "Preludiando" (Odeon) for the first time. In 1942, she recorded a series of 78s with Garoto, Garoto e Carolina. She recorded many albums in her long career, one of the last being Fafá e Carolina (1989), shared with violinist Fafá Lemos.
