Movie | Alo Amigos! (1942) with Ary Barroso and Aloysio de Oliveira

We have here a great, great, great film sent by Jean Yves (Jean do Trombone) to be used in a possible future tribute or homage to Aloysio de Oliveira and Ary Barroso. Sorry Jean, I could not wait. The nice parrot you see above is my friend Ze Carioca, a Disney cartoon character created in 1942 for the movie Alo Amigos (Saludo Amigos), which is the movie you see below and you should not miss. The music is from Ary Barroso and Aloysio de Oliveira sings.

Thanks Jean Yves for pointing this amazing piece of happiness made 65 years ago and fresh as made yesterday.

Hope uEnjoy!

  2. Thomas,

I'm surprised that you don't know this film. It is very common in Brazil. I grew-up watching this film on TV several times.

I had the chance to see it again after years and now I cannot post any other music afraid to loose the film at the first page.

    Truly great brings emotions...

    Cheers, zeca

  11. Ah, I finally realized that I needed to update my flash player. At last I am able to view this legendary film. I probably have not seen it since I was a child, in the late 1950's or early 1960's. This may be why "Aquarela do Brasil" had been in my memory (dormant) until I discovered Brazilian music as an adult. I have seen the sheet music, and heard stories about it, so it's wonderful to see it come to life again. Thanks, zecalouro!
