Very wise of Caetano on sending this really hard to find album to our community, featuring a very interesting artist, the Brazilian sax player, arranger and composer Zito Righi. I spoke with Claudio Fragnan, which is the friend who knows everything about Musidisc label and he said Zito Righi recorded several albums using the name of Bob Fleming, particularly the ones released when Moacyr Silva was not under contract obligations with Musidisc.
Zito Righi recorded only three solo albums, this first one, a second with a repertoire of American standards and a last one with Ribamar. These three albums were recorded from 1961 to 1963 and I cannot understand why he did not make more albums. Additionally, nobody could say so far it Zito Righi is alive and what he did after the 60's. Anyway, this is the first Zito Righi LP and it is really above the average, featuring some other artists from Musidisc cast. Let's see.
This is Zito Righi e Sua Orquestra - O Sax de Ouro (1961), for Musidisc, featuring Zito Righi sax tenor and the very special Musidisc guests Silvio Cesar, Toni Vestante, Pedrinho Rodrigues and Francineth. This is the perfect transitional album to move from Samba to Loronix business as usual. Personnel is not listed. Tracks include:
01 - Se Eu Errei (Francisco Neto / Humberto de Carvalho / Edu Rocha) Ana Maria (Luis Soberano / Anicio Bichara)
02 - História (Nilo Sergio) with Francineth
03 - Amor Demias (Ed Lincoln / Silvio César)
04 - Partí (Ed Lincoln / Silvio César) with Silvio César
05 - Amor de Janela (Pernambuco / Antônio Maria) Brincar de Amar (Pernambuco)
06 - Não Diga Nada (Carlito / Noacy de Marcenes) Eu Não Sei Me Repetir (Jota Santos / Herondino Silva)
07 - Calcuttá (H. Gaze)
08 - Conformação (Moacir Vieira) with Pedrinho Rodrigues
09 - Sei Que É Covardia Mas (Ataulfo Alves / Claudionor Cruz) Olhos Verdes (Vicente Paiva)
10 - Toma Lá Dá Cá (Toni Vestane) with Toni Vestane
Abrazos! Abraços!!
