Varios Artistas - Bossa Nova at Carnegie Hall (1962)

I think nobody had idea of the date we are celebrating with this post and I would be really disappointed missing it. Thanks a million to Joao Pires Barbosa Filho, a late, but great Loronixer. Joao told me about this date a pair of hours ago and I had a really hard time to make it ready. Thanks once again Joao and Let's celebrate the 45th anniversary of the first Bossa Nova US Concert performed at New Your City, November 21, 1962.

This is Bossa Nova at Carnegie Hall (1962), for Audio Fidelity, featuring excerpts of the first US Bossa Nova concert. It is hard to believe that Loronix did not have this album. Perhaps it was commercially available and I did not check its availability on regular basis. Anyway, now I'm glad to make it available on such special date. 1. Hi Zeca, I can super relate to this recording since I lived right next to this hall for almost 17 years. Cheers!

  3. This is the official Carnegie Hall concert LP. But as Ruy Castro writes in his book, there are
collectors out there who have the
bootleg recording of the whole concert, including the performances by Tom Jobim. Also there was a TV-team at the concert and the whole concert was aired on TV in Brazil in 1963. Did this material survive?
Will anybody who has the complete
conceret share it with us on Loronix?
