Clara Nunes - Clara Nunes (1971)
I want to say that 2008 has been a great year to Loronix. Since January, our community is growing on daily basis, and today something very interesting happened, it was the day Loronix received more visitors since the creation. I would like to say thank you to everybody, no matter how long you are part of this community, no matter where are your from, no matter what you do. Growth is a very important piece of our strategy, makes our community viable and stronger. Thanks once again for this great start of 2008.
This is Clara Nunes - Clara Nunes (1971), for Odeon, a transitional album from the early Clara Nunes Bossa Nova years to the style where she definitively shines as one of the greatest Brazilian Samba interpreters ever. This self-titled album brings several well known Clara Nunes tunes and also landmarks the first out of several participations of Maestro Lindolpho Gaya as Musical Director. Maestros Orlando Silveira, Nelsinho, Lindolpho Gaya and Jose Roberto deliver arrangers on individual tracks; unfortunately, Odeon did not credit musicians. Tracks include:
01 - Aruandê Aruandá (Zé da Bahia) OS
02 - Participação (Didier Ferraz / Jorge Belizário) OS
03 - Meu Lema (João Nogueira / Gisa Nogueira) LG
04 - Ê Baiana (Fabrício da Silva / Baianinho / Ênio Santos Ribeiro / Miguel Pancrácio) LG
05 - Puxada da Rede do Xaréu - 1ª Parte (Maria Rosita Salgado Goes) OS
06 - Novamente (Luis Bandeira) LG
07 - Misticismo da África ao Brasil (Mário Pereira / Wilmar Costa / João Galvão) LG
08 - Sabiá (Luis Gonzaga / Zé Dantas) JR
09 - Rosa 25 (Geovana) MN
10 - A Favorita (Francisco Leonardo) LG
11 - Puxada da Rede do Xaréu - 2ª Parte (Maria Rosita Salgado Goes) OS
12 - Feitio de Oração (Vadico / Noel Rosa) OS
13 - Canseira (Paulo Diniz / Odibar) JR
14 - Morrendo Verso Em Verso (João Nogueira) MN
Arrangements by:
OS - Orlando Silveira
LG - Lindolpho Gaya
MN - Nelsinho
JR - Jose Roberto
you put out the most wonderful grooves loronix..thank you so much for this :)
ReplyDeleteHeavenly...maybe you´d like to give her best (?) record "Alvorecer" a quality update? - Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteAlvorecer is for many her best release and it is also my next Clara Nunes target. Thanks for remembering, Jörn.
ReplyDeleteCheers, zeca
strange, my first comment did not make it. Maybe I was not logged in!!....
ReplyDeleteI am NUTS about Clara Nunes and do not have this record. Thanks so much! Also, yes I love Alvorecer (have it on vinyl and CD) but I am also very fond of Claridade. Hard to pick a 'best' between those two for me!
