Zeze Gonzaga - Cancao do Amor Distante (1967)

Hello, good evening! I felt very frustrated all over the day for not gathering the energy needed to make a full tribute to Zeze Gonzaga yesterday night, providing the second album sent by Mr. E. People say here in Brazil that Gonzaga Zeze the night of yesterday, providing the second disc sent by Mr. E.. By the way, there is a saying here in Brazil, a fairly common phrase, called "Há males, que vem para o bem", which something like -- there are problems that comes to the well – defining wrong moments as something capable of creating future benefits. It was exactly what happened, Mr. E. found an awesome Zeze Gonzaga interview at Página da Música, where Zeze Gonzaga talks about her career and this great disc, made available with great enthusiasm. Let’s see.

This is Zeze Gonzaga – Cancao do Amor Distante (1967), for Philips, as explained yesterday, the last album recorded by Zeze Gonzaga before her 23 years retirement from his artistic career, featuring arrangements by Maestro Lyrio Panicalli and Lindolpho Gaya, which is information brought by Mr. E. via Zeze Gonzaga interview at Pagina da Musica. Such as Zeze Gonzaga album with Quinteto de Radames Gnattali, Cancao do Amor Distante is a truly amazing album that you cannot miss. Tracks include:

01 - Sorri (Zé Keti / Élton Medeiros)
02 - Faça-me o Favor (João Leal Brito ''Britinho'' / Fernando César)
03 - Veja Lá (Baden Powell / Luis Fernando Freire)
04 - Mensagem de Esperança (Jacobina / Gabriel Pessanha)
05 - Não Fique Triste Não (Jorge Ben "Jorge Benjor")
06 - Eu Chorei (Edmundo Maciel / Romeo Nunes)
07 - Canção do Amor Distante (Romeo Nunes / João Mello)
08 - Chuva (Durval Ferreira / Pedro Camargo)
09 - Além do Amor (Baden Powell / Vinicius de Moraes)

  1. What a great record. I always thought I know and have everything,
but this record and this artist is a great surprise. One of the best Bossa Nova recordings from the second part of the 60`s. A real classic.
