I will not make you feel bored this time several information about this LP. Just a few things are enough to your understanding that we have here something unique. Leny Andrade - A Arte Maior de Leny Andrade (1964) for Polydor, is a live set, at Bacarrat nightclub (as far as I could search). The recording quality is awesome considering the resources available in the 60’s. Leny speaks to the audience on what seems to be a tiny place by the number of hands clapping.
The set is full of Bossa Nova standards with arrangements and piano of Tenorio Jr., Milton Banana on drums and Zezinho on bass. Breathtaking. A Arte Maior also landmarks the first recording of Influencia do Jazz (Carlos Lyra). I think this is enought to capture your attention, an outstanding trio and a great diva. Tracks include:
01 - Samba do Avião (Tom Jobim)
02 - A Morte de Um Deus de Sal (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
03 - Baiãozinho (Eumir Deodato)
04 - Amor de Nada (Paulo Sergio Valle / Marcos Valle)
05 - Embalo (Tenório Júnior)
06 - Vai de Vez (Roberto Menescal / Luis Fernando Freire)
07 - O Mar e o Amor (Odilon Olyntho / Jorge Omar)
08 - Vivo Sonhando (Tom Jobim)
09 - Consolação (Vinicius de Moraes / Baden Powell)
10 - Moça Flor (Durval Ferreira / Luis Fernando Freire)
11 - There Will Never Be Another You (M. Gordon / H. Warren)
12 - Influência do Jazz (Carlos Lyra)

Os Diagonais - Os Diagonais (1969)
It is hard to write about this post and this band. The first Os Diagonais was released on the very beginning of Loronix and was responsible for bringing many friends to Loronix. It has been more than three months since then and it is a great pleasure to present Os Diagonais first LP to the fans of this legendary group.
Os Diagonais started in 1964 as Bossa Trio. They had a very short career, recoding several singles, this first LP in 1969 and the last one in 1971, making a mix of Samba and Soul music blended with nice vocal harmonies. Among several members during these years, it is very easy to highlight several names that became later renowned artists, such as: Cassiano, Luizao, Hyldon, Osmar Milito, among others. Tracks include:
01 - Baby Baby (Santos Dumont)
02 - Na Baixa do Sapateiro (Ary Barroso) -- Helena Helena (Antônio Almeida / Constantino Silva "Secundino")
03 - Não Dá Pra Entender (Cassiano)
04 - Solução (Raul Sampaio / Ivo Santos) -- Cabelos Brancos (Marino Pinto / Herivelto Martins) 05 - Meu Sonho É Você (Altamiro Carrilho / Átila Nunes) -- Sabe Deus (Sabrá Dios) (Álvaro Carrillo / Vrs. Nely B. Pinto) 06 - Meu Cariri (Rosil Cavalcanti / Dilú Mello)
07 - Clarimunda (Cassiano)
08 - Praça Onze (Herivelto Martins / Grande Otelo) -- Bat Macumba (Gilberto Gil / Caetano Veloso)
09 - O Trem Atrazou (Arthur Villarinho / Estanislau Silva / Paquito) -- Atire a Primeira Pedra (Ataulfo Alves / Mário Lago)
10 - Terezinha de Jesus (Tradicional) -- Cala a Boca Etelvina (Antônio Almeida / Wilson Batista) 11 - Siga (Fernando Lobo / Hélio Guimarães) -- Célia (José Rodrigues de Resende / Augusto Calheiros)
12 - General da Banda (Sátiro de Melo / Tancredo Silva / José Alcides) -- Vai Que Depois Eu Vou (Adolfo Macedo / Zé da Zilda / Zilda do Zé / Airton Borges)

Abilio Manoel - Velho de Guerra (1973)
If someone asks me who is the ultimate specialist on Abilio Manoel and many other artists from the 70's, I would say without thinking that it is Mr. G.
Mr. G. is not only a specialist; he is a solid contributor that helps Loronix a lot. Thank you Mr. G. for providing us a new and inquisitive LP, Abilio Manoel - Velho de Guerra (1973), for Odeon. Velho de Guerra is an album that I never had the chance to listen and it is quite different to previous releases.
The orchestra arrangements are from Jose Briamonte on tracks 02, 05, 06 and 07. The remaing tracks are from Maestro Theo de Barros. This cover is really beautiful crayon painting. Thanks again Mr. G. to share with Loronixer this, as you said, mind-blowingly album of this unexplainable underrated artist. Tracks include:
01 -. Era Uma Vez (Abílio Manoel)
02 -. Tua Chegada (Abílio Manoel / Odilon Escobar)
03 -. Disparates (Abílio Manoel / Maria Alice)
04 -. As Águas Vão Rolar Outra Vez (Abílio Manoel / Sergio Leopoldo)
05 -. Fugas & Fuzis (Abílio Manoel)
06 -. Chris Christina (Abílio Manoel)

10 -. Priscilla (Dércio Marques)
11 -. Que Menina Que Graça (Abílio Manoel / Carvalho)

Lucio Alves - Tio Samba - Musica Americana em Bossa Nova (1961)
Since Lucio Alves was mentioned at Caetano Rodrigues challenge, let's stay on the mood and approach this great singer with Lucio Alves - Tio Samba - Musica Americana em Bossa Nova (1961). Lucio was of a great importance to Brazilian music, influencing all renowned artists that have started in the 50's and 60's.
Lucio started his career earlier, in the 30's, being active until mid 70's. Just to understand how influent was Lucio Alves, I will pick up the first paragraph of AMG bio available here: "Lúcio Alves was a great interpreter of Brazilian music. Tom Jobim said he is "a formidable singer, he deserved the highest popular acclamation, but paid the price of being an artist ahead of his time." João Gilberto was a declared fan of his singing interpretation and his vocal and harmonic arrangements and Alves made some arrangements for Gilberto's Garotos da Lua and Gilberto lived with him at Raul Pompéia street in Rio. When Chega de Saudade was released, the first person to whom Gilberto showed the album was Alves." Tracks include:
01 - Sem Cessar (All The Way) (Heusen / Cahn / version: Fred Jorge)
02 - A Sobrinha da Judite (On The Sunny Side Of The Street) (Fields / McHugh / version: Aloysio de Oliveira)
03 - Murmurando (Whispering) (Schonberger / Coburn / Rose / version: Haroldo Barbosa)
04 - Coisas Que Lembram Você (These Foolish Things) (Strachey / Marvell / Link / version: Aloysio de Oliveira)
05 - Magia (It's Magic) (Cahn / Styne / version: Aloysio de Oliveira)
06 - Imaginação (Among My Souvenirs) (Leslie / Nicholls / version: Aloysio de Oliveira)
07 - Tudo Acontece Comigo (Everything Happens To Me) (Adair / Dennis / version: Haroldo Barbosa)
08 - Canção da Mula (Swinging On a Star) (Burke / Heusen / version: Haroldo Barbosa)
09 - Só Penso Em Você (I Only Have Eyes For You) (Dubin / Warren / version: Claribalte Passos)
10 - Fim de Semana (In a Little Spanish Town) (Young / Wayne / version: Aloysio de Oliveira)
11 - Boneca de Papel (Papel Doll) (Black / version: Aloysio de Oliveira)
12 - Sábado à Noite (Saturday Night) (Cahn / Styne / version: Haroldo Barbosa)

Luiz Henrique - Barra Limpa (1967)
I have been receiving some requests to post this LP, Luiz Henrique - Barra Limpa (1967), the last out of three released for Verve on Luiz Henrique USA years. As a matter of fact, zecalouro spoke a lot about Luiz Henrique on his last Loronix releases but forgot to say something that - I don't know why - is considered amazing by everybody. Luiz Henrique had, how could I say in English, a love affair with Liza Minelli.
Barra Limpa is a mellow Bossa Jazz LP that you will enjoy, with most songs with English lyrics. The set has Luiz Henrique and Sivuca at the accordion among others American musicians. If Barra Limpa catches you up, send greetings to the Bossanovadreamer and Cezar Saldanha, both cried today for Barra Limpa at CBox. Tracks include:
01 - Listen To Me
02 - Vivo Sonhando
03 - If You Want To Be a Lover
04 - O Morro -- Samba do Orfeu -- Mas Que Nada
05 - Minha Lagoa
06 - A Waltz For Diane
07 - Reza
08 - Mas Que Qada
09 - Alicinha
10 - I Know You Go For Me
11 - A Trip To Brazil

Lindolfo Gaya e Rogerio Duprat - Os Maestros Premiados (1968)
Yesterday, the word lost the legendary Maestro Rogerio Duprat, producer for Caetano Veloso, Jorge Ben, Gal Costa, Gilberto Gil, Os Mutantes, among many others. Rogerio Duprat was a key figure in the Tropicalia movement that revolutionized Brazilian music in the 60's. In later years, he lived a reclusive life on a farm in Sao Paulo state.
This is Loronix tribute to Maestro Rogerio Duprat, LP Lindolfo Gaya e Rogerio Duprat - Os Maestros Premiados (1968), with Lindolfo Gaya e Sua Orquestra on tracks 01 to 06 and Rogerio Duprat e Sua Orquestra on tracks 07 to 12.

Os Satelites - Arrasta a Sandalia (1957)
Hello, this day should be a great day at Loronix, I have been receiving many contributions of great LPs from several friends. It's now 9PM in Brazil and by now I have received five new LPs, which means that if you sent something today, yesterday or even this week, don't worry, there is a logical waiting list. Loronix has four daily posts and zecalouro needs to make his choices balancing each day among several picks, such as: instrumental, samba, choro, singer, etc.
Thanks everybody! It has been really nice to stay in touch with all you.
The first pick of the day is really cool. This is an LP of a Brazilian vocal and instrumental band that has released just this single album, Os Satelites - Arrasta a Sandalia (1957) for Odeon, really obscure group with a not credited line-up. Maestro Pachequinho is in charge of the orchestral arrangements with Samba! Very swinging, remembering sometimes Brazilian Carnaval from the 40's. Make your try using the 30s streaming bellow. Tracks include:
01 - Arrasta a Sandália (Osvaldo Vasques "Baiaco" / Aurélio Gomes)
02 - É Bom Parar (Rubens Soares)
03 - Mulher Exigente (Almirante)
04 - Yaya do Balacuchê (Rubens Soares)
05 - O Que Será de Mim (Ismael Silva / Nilton Bastos)
06 - Poeira (J. Santos / Abigail Moura)
07 - Cai Cai (Roberto Martins)
08 - Tava na Roda do Samba (Salvador Correia)
09 - Foi Ela Que Me Deixou (Luis Nunes Sampaio)
10 - Diz Que Vai Vai Vai (Haníbal Cruz)
11 - Na Pavuna (Almirante / Candoca da Anunciação)
12 - Ba Bá Be Bé Bi Bi (Luis Nunes Sampaio)

Wilson Simonal - Singles, Lados B e Raridades (2004)
Perfect time to show Loronixers something that made me feel very a couple of days ago. The feedback of those singles and EPs packs had been really great and zecalouro decided to make a special pack only with Wilson Simonal albums, in spite of the bad quality of some songs that were taken from pretty old singles, EPs and even 78 RPMs.
Without knowing my plans, Max de Castro sent this gift to Loronixers, a double CD with 41 remastered songs taken from the out of print Wilson Simonal box set released in 2004, Wilson Simonal - Singles, Lados B e Raridades (2004). Thanks again Max for the sharing spirit.

Ze Maria, seu Orgao e seu Conjunto - Nova Onda (1965)
The first time we had the chance to show you a LP from the Brazilian organist I could not realize how amazing artist he is and how many wonderful releases would be available at Loronix.
Loronix first Ze Maria release was Esquema 64/Bossa Nova e Balanco (1964). zecalouro said also that the cover was similar to a record from the 30's or 40's. More than a month later, Ze Maria had another release with an LP with the participation of Jorge Ben, Tudo Azul, Bossa Nova e Balanco (1962).
Ze Maria is now back with the third and greatest Loronix release, Ze Maria, seu Orgao e Conjunto - Nova Onda (1965). Ze Maria is in charge of the arrangements, accompanied by Jorge Autuori (drums), Egidio (bass), Sombra (piston), Pedrotte (trombone) and Geraldo (acoustic guitar).
I think that Geraldo (acoustic guitar) is Geraldo Vespar, but it is that kind of information that needs to be checked with two or more sources. Several different singers shows his voices, as follows: Gaguinho on tracks 01 and 08, Jorginho on tracks 02 and 09, Daniel Gonzalez on track 05 and Selma So on track 11. Tracks include:
01 - Nova Onda (Gaguinho / Zé Maria)
02 - Meu Veneno (José Bezerra / Jackson do Pandeiro / Mergulhão)
03 - Neste Mundo Só Você (Jorge Smera / Paulo Gesta)
04 - Um Brasileiro nos States (Rildo Hora / Humberto Reis)
05 - Neurastênico (Betinho / Nazareno de Brito)
06 - Nega Quatrocentão (Almeida Rego / Carlos Cruz)
07 - Nova Onda do Strip-tease (Hélton Menezes)
08 - Na Batucada do Zé (João Roberto Kelly / Aloísio Silva)
09 - Valente Morre Mais Cedo (Padeirinho)
10 - Catolé (Murillo Latini / Bob Nelson)
11 - Mamãe Ele Olhou Pra Mim (Ma He's Making Eyes At Me) (F. Clare / C. Conrad / Vrs. Sombra)
12 - Perpétuum (Zé Maria)
Motel - Original Sound Track (1975)
This post is for the fans of OSTs and a kind of cinema movie that was very common in the 70's, Pornochanchada, which is the name given to a genre of sexploitation films, combining pornô (porn) and chanchada (light comedy).
These films were very funny, silly, with no explicity sex as today. Actually, today’s families could watch most of these films.
This is the original sound track of the film Motel, with five instrumental tracks composed by Ze Rodrix. Motel OST is a short pick, with only 6 tracks and 12 minutes of music. If you were in Brazil during the Pornochanchada days, this will make you remember those days. If not try to realize with the music how these films could be. Tracks include:
01 - Motel (Ze Rodrix)
02 - Professor e Aluna (Ze Rodrix)
03 - Fabio e Fani (Ze Rodrix)
04 - Consultorio de Dentista (Ze Rodrix)
05 - Marina (Ze Rodrix)
06 - Paulista Solto no Rio (Ze Rodrix)

Sergio Mendes & Brasil '77 - I Believe (1974)
Let's start with an artist that needs a place on every Bossa Nova discography, Sergio Mendes & Brasil '77 - I believe (1974), for Som Livre. I could not find much info when searching about this record. It was released in Brasil, but all songs have English lyrics and are performed by an as far as I know not recognized female singer.
I need to admit that I'm not as good as I should be on Sergio Mendes, so I will let with you this time the nice work of gathering info about this record. The cover is a perfect translation of the mid 70's way of life. Now I understand why zecalouro's mother was really afraid when he left home to nightclubs wearing these crazy clothes that had only place in the 70's.
Everything is collapsing at the Internet, Blogger, YouTube (yesterday) and now this nice sound sample streaming is down for maintenance. I will skip it this time, until they get back to business. Tracks include:
01 - If I Ever Lose This Heaven (L. Ware / P. Sawyer)
02 - Lookin' For Another Pure Love (Stevie Wonder)
03 - All In Love Is Fair (Stevie Wonder)
04 - Let Them Work It Out (T. Bell / L. Creed)
05 - The Trouble With Hello Is Goodbye (D. Crusin / M. Bergman / A. Bergman)
06 - Here Comes The Sun (George Harrison)
07 - Davy (B. Ighner)
08 - I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever) (Stevie Wonder / S. Wright)
09 - Someday We'll All Be Free (D. Hathway)
10 - You Been Away Too Long (B. Ighner)
Another strike of Mr. K. from Japan, Sergio Mendes & Brasil '77 - I Believe (1974), at Loronix, here.
Hope uEnjoy!

One of the hardest pick of a blogging day is the last post of the day. The last post will stay on top all next day long until zecalouro starts his duty at 7pm, Brazilian time. A good choice is critical and a beautiful cover also counts.
In spite this confusing cover, which zecalouro and probably several Loronixers desired for years at Sabadabada.com cover section under RCA files, this post is really worthwhile. In collaboration with Mr. K., the Japanese Loronixer, zecalouro presents Conjunto Jovem Brasa - Apresenta Samba Jovem (1966), the only LP recorded by this group.
This post speaks by itself. It's late at night in Brazil and zecalouro will not makes you boring with more writing, just check this outstanding and surprising personnel list with two members of The Fevers, a legendary Brazilian band from the 70's, tracks and the 30s sound clip new stuff.

Luli - Luli (1965)
This is a solo record of a Brazilian singer that was very popular in the 70's. This is Luli - Luli (1965), an obscure LP that was recommended by the mighty Bossanovadreamer. Luli recorded this LP in 1965 and could only get popular in the 70's as a duet - very familiar to friends in Brazil - Luli e Lucina.
When Luli e Lucina (Heloisa Orosco Borges da Fonseca e Lucia Helena Carvalho e Silva) recorded their first LP in 1979, they had already together almost 800 compositions recorded by several renowned Brazilian artists.
It is amazing that an interval of fourteen years separates this record and the first Luli solo LP as a duet. Anyway, as said, a Bossanovadreamer recommendation is something that you cannot skip. Thanks Bossanovadreamer for letting me know the *existence* of Luli solo LP. Tracks include:
01 - Peço Licença (Walter Levita / Costa Júnior)
02 - Povo (Dalton / Silveira)
03 - Tristeza de Amar (Geraldo Vandré / Luis Roberto)
04 - Cadê Meu Barracão (Silveira / Dalton)
05 - Canto da Plantação (Luis Carlos Sá)
06 - Missão (Sidney Miller / Paulo Thiago)
07 - Baleiro (Luis Carlos Sá)
08 - Samba da Aurora (Luis Carlos Sá)
09 - Em Tempo de Vida (Luhli)
10 - Iná (Mário de Castro)
11 - Esta Favela Que Eu Amo (Zé Keti / Paulo Thiago / Sidney Miller)
12 - Sol (Luhli / Luis Fernando Borges)

The Boogaloo Combo - Boogaloo Quente (1975)
Remember that LP with a boy picture at the front cover playing drums? The Boogaloo Combo, now back and improved with a truly different cover. I'm sorry for not making available a high-resolution image. This LP is very hard to find that I decided to do not wait longer for a better artwork.
This is The Boogaloo Combo - Boogaloo Quente (1975), Tropicana, once again, no additional information about personnel, etc. except that it is as good as the last one, of course if you had fun with that last Boogaloo Combo pick. Stay with track list and the 30s sample track as well.

Antonio Carlos & Jocafi - Cada Segundo (1972)
Hello, good night! Let's star the day a LP that is almost a jointly effort of several renowned musicians. Today it is not easy to assemble in a recording set so many good people like we have to make Antonio Carlos & Jocafi - Cada Segundo (1972) for RCA.
Rildo Hora coordinated the overall enterprise. Several "maestros" alternate the arrangements for each track, including: Jose Briamonte, Dom Salvador, Leonardo Bruno, Paulo Moura and Rildo Hora. The remaining personnel list is so long that I decide to make available only the highlights: Nelson Angelo (guitar), Edson Frederico (piano), Novelli (bass) and Neco (cavaquinho).
If you are looking for an easy SambaBossa LP with pop vocals and cool swing, this is yours. Tracks include:
01 - Encabulada (Antônio Carlos Marques / Jocafi)
02 - Bate-barriga (Antônio Carlos Marques / Jocafi)
03 - Presepada (Antônio Carlos Marques / Jocafi)
04 - Simbarerê (Antônio Carlos Marques / Jocafi)
05 - Edição Extra (Antônio Carlos Marques / Jocafi / Ildásio Tavares)

Breno Sauer Quinteto - Viva o Samba (1959)
The last post was really cool, a great record with no information about it. Mr. G. is back to Loronix after some week or two on vacation. He said that Conjunto Carcara - Barra Limpa is probably from Minas Gerais State, since he is the happy owner of a copy that he bought for (One Real) there. Last minute information, Barra Limpa is auctioned at Popsike with a starting bid of US$ 150,00. This old vinyl market is really amazing.
Let's stop talking about the last post since this new one is breathtaking. Once again, the info available is minimum, but just enough to make your eyes jump out of your head. zecalouro presents Breno Sauer Quinteto - Viva o Samba (1959) for Columbia, which is Breno Sauer debut LP.
Promising, don't you think? Great! Take a seat now to read who is behind Breno Sauer Quinteto. If you can cope with tracks before reading personnel, they are included below. Check also a new zecalouro's that shows 30s of a given track.

02 - Brigas Nunca Mais (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
03 - Frenesi (A. Dominguez)

Conjunto Carcara - Barra Limpa (1965)
This post is the first that zecalouro has no information available about a group and the album. This is Conjunto Carcara - Barra Limpa (1965), not listed on any discography checked, not available at e-Bay, Gemm, Superfly Records, Juno.com, CDandLP.com. The only used copy available for selling was found on Popsike.com with no information provided.
Barra Limpa is an instrumental Bossa Jazz LP with Brazilian and American songs. Take it, make your personal investigation and come back with good news. Listen to a 30s clip of track 02 - Estamos ai.

Bossa Tres - Em Forma! (1965)
This is a repost to address several Loronixers requests. I did not know how popular was this LP, unavailable due the last RapidShare moves and changes. Do not be afraid about these moves and changes. They can affect only the very early posts, less than 5% of Loronix.
Bossa Tres was the first instrumental group of Bossa Nova age, assembled in 1961 by Luiz Carlos Vinhas (piano), Tiao Neto (bass) and Edison Machado. This LP is Bossa Tres - Em Forma! (1965), with Luiz Carlos Vinhas, Otavio Baily (bass) and Ronald (drums).
Em Forma! was released by Forma label. I don't know if the LP title means that Bossa Tres is Em Forma (the label name) or Em Forma (in a good shape in English). Looking at this fantastic cover, I think they meant the record label. Tracks include:
01 - Bottle's (Orlando Costa ''Maestro Cipó'')
02 - Juca Bobão (Del Loro)
03 - Valsa (João Donato)
04 - Búzios (Luis Carlos Vinhas)
05 - O Morro Não Tem Vez (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
06 - Bico de Luz (Luis Carlos Vinhas)
07 - Vivo Sonhando (Tom Jobim)
08 - Sambete Nº 4 (Ed Lincoln / Waltel Branco)
09 - Como Eu Quis Você (Luis Carlos Vinhas / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
10 - Imprevisto (Luis Carlos Vinhas)

Ana Margarida - Ana Margarida (1965)
It is a great pleasure to run Loronix and presents these wonders. The real fun is to find information about the artists and the LPs. Sometimes zecalouro keeps moving some releases out of the list when running with no info. That's my real problem with Ana Margarida. If you Google her, you get 500.000 results. When narrowing your search, you get less results but it is like finding a grain of sand.
Anyway, since it is a recommendation of my great German friend Mr. D&C, it was enough to listen to it and make a decision. Thanks Mr. D&C for remembering Ana Margarida - Ana Margarida (1965) for Forma as FM-9.
This is Ana Margarida debut and probably the only record she made. Her voice is unique, rough and beautiful. Forma made the best to assembly a team to assist her, putting on the set Tamba Trio - Luiz Eca (piano), Bebeto (bass) and Ohana (drums) - and Quinteto Villa Lobos. The arrangements are in charge of Luiz Eca and regency by Mario Tavares. Tracks include:
01 - Porque Tinha de Ser (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
02 - Preciso Aprender a Ser Só (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
03 - Maysa (Luis Eça / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
04 - Dindi (Tom Jobim / Aloysio de Oliveira)
05 - Das Rosas (Dorival Caymmi)
06 - Canção do Amanhecer (Edu Lobo / Vinicius de Moraes)
07 - A Minha Namorada (Carlos Lyra / Vinicius de Moraes)
08 - Canto Livre (Dulce Nunes / Bené Nunes)

Embalo Trio - Embalo Trio (1965)
Hello, good night! Let's start the day with a recommendation of Jim, the great Loronixer from USA. I was reluctant to post this LP without having minimum information about it, but today I was browsing gemm.com when someone places a bid for the original vinyl starting with US$ 250.00.
Woow! That's the relevant information I was looking for to release to Loronixers, Embalo Trio - Embalo Trio (1965), delightful Bossa Jazz album from a combo that released just this album and then disappeared. Anyway, Embalo Trio is Roberto Mancilha Torres (piano), Faud Salomão Sobrinho (drums) and Everson Augusto da Silveira (bass). Tracks include:

Pery Ribeiro - Eu Gosto da Vida (1961)
After some emails changed with our my new Loronixer friend Jim from USA - obviously we were talking about Loronix - an important issue came to us; Loronix needs more Pery Ribeiro releases, Pery is such a great artist that deserves his first solo LP, not only the previous posts with participations with Bossa Tres and that EP with Milton Banana Trio. All great, but nobody could see so far Pery solo.
This post is the response and since we will start with Pery Ribeiro solo releases, let's make it with his debut, Pery Ribeiro - Eu Gosto da Vida (1961) for Odeon.
The AMG bios available below considers Pery Ribeiro debut LP as Pery Ribeiro - Pery Ribeiro e Seu Mundo de Cancoes Romanticas (1962) for Odeon - MOFB 3272. Correct if I'm wrong when saying that this release is Pery debut LP.
01 - Inteirinha (Luis Vieira)
02 - Três Sorrisos (Mário Lago / Chocolate)
03 - Se Adormeço (Herivelto Martins / David Nasser)
04 - Manhã de Carnaval (Luis Bonfá / Antônio Maria)
05 - Lamento da Lavadeira (Monsueto / Nilo Chagas / João Violão)
06 - Samba do Orfeu (Luis Bonfá)
07 - Eu Gosto da Vida (Hianto de Almeida / Chico Anísio)
08 - Todinha (Luis Vieira)
09 - Noite Chuvosa (Fernando César / João Leal Brito "britinho")
10 - Amorella (Lindolfo Gaya / Romeo Nunes)
11 - Vou Me Aposentar do Meu Amor (Ricardo Galeno / Paulo Tito)
12 - Até Quando (Marino Pinto / Vadico)
AMG Bio
A key singer of the bossa nova, having launched "Garota de Ipanema," Pery Ribeiro, son of the composer Herivelto Martins and of the singer Dalva de Oliveira, started early in his artistic career by providing singing and voices in Walt Disney animated movies. In 1944, he acted in the film Berlim na Batucada, by Luís de Barros. His debut on radio was in 1959, on Paulo Gracindo's show at Rádio Nacional, where he took his stage name Pery Ribeiro on suggestion of his godfather César de Alencar. In 1960, Ribeiro had his first song, "Não Devo Insistir" (written with Dora Lopes), recorded by Dalva de Oliveira. Ribeiro recorded his first single in the same year. In 1961, he recorded the bossa nova classics "Manhã de Carnaval" and "Samba de Orfeu" (both by Luís Bonfá/Antônio Maria) and "Barquinho" (Roberto Menescal/Ronaldo Bôscoli), among others. The first LP came in 1962, Pery Ribeiro e Seu Mundo de Canções Românticas, backed by Luís Bonfá on the guitar. In the next year, Pery é Todo Bossa had an enormous success with the first recording of "Garota de Ipanema" (Tom Jobim/Vinícius de Moraes), along with other bossa nova classics like "Me Lembro Vagamente," "Nós e o Mar," "Ah! Se eu Pudesse," and "Rio" (all by Roberto Menescal/Ronaldo Bôscoli) and originals.
In 1964, Ribeiro's LP Pery Muito Mais Bossa brought "Berimbau" (Baden Powell/Vinícius de Moraes), "Baiãozinho" (Eumir Deodato), "Feio Não é Bonito" (Carlos Lyra/Gianfrancesco Guarnieri), and "Você" (Roberto Menescal/Ronaldo Bôscoli). In the next year, he formed with Leny Andrade and the Bossa 3 the group Gemini V, which performed with success at the Porão 73 club and at the Princesa Isabel theater ("Rio"), recording live the LP Gemini V/Show na Boate Porão 73/Leny Andrade, Pery Ribeiro e Bossa Três. In 1967, he had a successful six-month season in Mexico with the Gemini V. In 1966, Ribeiro went to the U.S. where he joined the Bossa Rio, (Sérgio Mendes, Gracinha Leporace, Osmar Milito, Manfredo Fest, Otávio Bailly, and Ronnie Mesquita), performing in several American cities. Returning to Rio in 1971, Ribeiro recorded with Leny Andrade the LP Gemini Cinco Anos Depois. Again in Mexico in 1974, he performed in Acapulco with Eliana Pittman and Herivelto Martins. In 1986, he recorded with Luís Eça the LP Pra Tanto Viver. Ribeiro starred in a show at the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, in which his father Herivelto Martins was paid tribute and awarded with the Shell Prize.

Som Nove - Som Nove (1967) & Donations, how to contribute with Loronix?
This repost is needed and awaited for many friends. It is from Loronix beginning, without the Rapidshare account donated by JP, which lasts until today.
By the way, many friends ask me how to contribute with Loronix. There are now several structured channels to help Loronix, the donation PayPal button and the ads that you can click on interest in the right. As Loronix grows, some new resources are required to keep it running, such as storage space and fixed costs with some new features
You can help if you want, if you need or if you think that zecalouro is making a good job. A major improvement to Loronix that can be accomplished with your donations is the acquisition of those machines to convert old LPs to MP3s without been an engineer (smile). A scanner should be also a major improvement.
Anyway, the donation button is just bellow, zecalouro - who got a broken wing this week, here (poor friend) - appreciates a lot. Thanks.
Let's stay with this great record, Som Nove - Som Nove (1967), high-octane instrumental music featuring Waltel Branco, Kuntz Maegele, Moacir Marques, Luiz Marinho, Ed Maciel and others.

Maestro Carioca e Sua Orquestra - Samba Oba! (196?)
This seems to be a reissue of an LP that probably introduces a new kind of recording technology and cover artwork design. well. I never heard about that before, but at linear notes it is explained that Maestro Carioca e Sua Orquestra - Samba Oba! (196?) is part of "Serie Percussônica Imperial". Do not ask me what exactly it is in terms of recording technology, but as artwork design, the linear notes statement says that the cover represents a new age "A Era Spacial da Musica".
I was not born in the 50's and early 60's, but how wonderful it would be living in Brazil in these decades. Sometimes we miss what we never had experienced.
I invite you to check this Big Band Orchestra conducted by Maestro Carioca and it Percussonic Samba. A great instrumental LP that will make you swings a lot. Tracks include:
01 - Boato (João Roberto Kelly)

05 - Desafinado (Tom Jobim / Newton Mendonça)

Waldir Calmon e sua Orquestra - Mambos! (1959)
It has been 24 years since we lost Waldir Calmon, one of the artists that zecalouro receives several emails requesting and suggesting posts. Our Brazilian friends with more than 30 years old certainly have listen several times at the movies the song Na Cadencia do Samba, which was the background music of a soccer show exhibited before the main attraction.
It came to my attention it was Waldir Calmon music only when I started Loronix. Shame on this green bird.
