I'm sure that this post will make several friends happy and excited. Thanks once again Caetano Rodrigues, this LP is really hard to find, a really sought-after item that you kindly provide to our community. In spite the participation of Tamba Trio in all tracks, I think that what makes this album desired by many is this wonderful cover artwork, fantastic work when you see as big as the LP size. Let's see how Loronixers feedback on this post.
This is Joao Mello - A "Bossa" do Balanco (1963), for Philips, featuring Tamba Trio in all tracks. Joao Mello is a composer, guitar player and singer being also an important producer of several albums along decades. Another self-explanatory release awaited by many friends. Tracks include:
01 - Gostoso É Sambar (João Mello)
02 - Está Nascendo Um Samba (Tito Madi / Romeo Nunes)
03 - Um Sonho Para Dois (Rildo Hora / Clóvis Mello)
04 - Jogado Fora (João Mello)
05 - Cravo Vermelho (Pernambuco / Sergio Malta)
06 - História (Nilo Sergio)
07 - Faz de Conta (Orlann Divo / Roberto Jorge)

10 - Vai Sofrer Vai Chorar (João Mello)
11 - Amor e Paz (Tito Madi)
12 - O Maior "Não" (Hianto de Almeida / Macedo Neto)

Turma da Gafieira - Turma da Gafieira (1957)
This a record of a band already released at Loronix and it was one of the greatest posts ever, really successful, responsible for bringing many new friends with word of mount recommendations and links on several websites. The day was August 30th and I'm placing the cover artwork of that release for those who did not have the chance to see. Just click on it to reach that post. I could never imagine six months ago that I would be releasing another Turma da Gafieira LP. This is only possible with the help of Caetano Rodrigues.
Before presenting this LP, I would like to say that we need to hear this record with something in mind: the year is 1957, some years before the formal Bossa Nova birth and the music available at this LP is really complex, rich and sophisticated as an announcement of the years to come. I was speaking with Caetano Rodrigues about this and we have been wondering what were the influences that forged such great LP. The answer is complex. I think it is a unique mix of several elements that could only happen in Brazil, melting Samba, Jazz, Choro, Afro, among others.
This is Turma da Gafieira - Turma da Gafieira (1957), for Musidisc, the debut LP of Turma da Gafieira. Self-explanatory, 8 tracks of the 10-inch format that you should enjoy a lot. Personnel listing has several renowned musicians, such as Alamiro Carrilho, Sivuca, Edison Machado, Raul de Souza and others. Tracks include:

Guio de Morais e Seu Conjunto - Gente que diz de Balanco (1964)
Let's check another Caetano Rodrigues release, a release that should please Mr. D&C, asking for many months for this artist. By the way, where is Mr. D&C? He said he would leave German on vacation, being back on January. There are great LPs at Loronix that were on top of Mr. D&C hunt list. Perhaps he is so amazed hearing his picks that he is not with time needed to share his feelings with us. Mr. D&C, when you read this one, get in touch, please.
Mr. D&C and Loronixers will be really pleased as I am with Guio de Morais e Seu Conjunto - Gente que Diz de Balanco (1964), for Continental, a record with several treasures, such as the fine repertoire selection, the amazing singers, which is probably a small choir with boys and girls voices and the superb accompaniment provided by Guio de Morais and his band. Unfortunately, personnel is not credit, I will appreciate a lot any info about this LP, a dancing LP, tailored for a Saturday night, you should not miss. Tracks include:
01 - Só Vou de Balanço (João Roberto Kelly)
02 - Gente Que Diz (Guio de Morais)
03 - Balanço Zona Sul (Tito Madi)
04 - Ela É Carioca (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
05 - O Samba Deu Um Avanço (Célio Ferreira / Rolando Ferreira)
06 - Samb'andando (Sergio Carvalho / Paulo Bruce)
07 - Tudo de Você (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
08 - Quem Sabe É o Mar (Barbosa da Silva / Paulinho)
09 - Samba Travesso (Norival Reis / Harli Teixeira)
10 - Tão Só (Guio de Morais)
11 - Carnaval Triste (Sergio Carvalho / Paulo Bruce)
12 - Barraco do José (Carlos Fortes)

Claudette Soares - Fiz do Amor o Meu Canto (1976)
Hello, Good Night! 2007 is having a fast start in terms of work and Loronix. This makes zecalouro feels very happing and willing to share and work hard to make a better Loronix to all his friends. Some great stuff is being prepared by zecalouro to please Loronixers during the forthcoming half of this year. It will be amazing.
I received a tip from our friend Caio at CBox to post this LP, when I get back now to pick his name and write his line, the friend Lula asked if Caetano could give this LP to zeca. Very good and friendly conversation. Caetano has this record, but zecalouro has also this time. Let's address these friends’ requests.
This is Claudette Soares - Fiz do Amor o Meu Canto (1976), for Odeon, Claudette Soares tribute to Tito Madi with all songs by Tito Madi. Just as Caio said, there are great arrangements supporting Claudette Soares interpretation for Tito Madi compositions, unfortunately, I could not track who is in charge of the arrangements. Anyway, this is a great start for this rainy Saturday in Rio de Janeiro that I hope you will appreciated just as our friends should. Tracks include:
01 - Cansei de Ilusões (Tito Madi)
02 - Quero-te Assim (Tito Madi)
03 - Sonho e Saudade (Tito Madi)
04 - Não Diga Não (Tito Madi / Georges Henry)
05 - Fracassos de Amor (Tito Madi / Milton Silva)

Conjunto Flamingo - Apresentando o Conjunto Flamingo (1962)
It is very hard to decide what music to post each day among the several that Caetano sent to Loronixers. Caetano is nice, he collaborates with a great enthusiasm each day, helping to make the right choices, giving recommendations and adding information that you cannot find anyware. I use to "plan" the day with Caetano with daily phone calls. Today, I did not call, it is Friday. I'm not worried to make the wrong choices all Caetanos contributions are amazing. However, I think this is something of great responsibility and part of the fun is to share with Caetano what I think about the LPs I heard during the day and get the same feedback from him. This is another Caetano's release, thanks a million friend!
This is Conjunto Flamingo - Apresentamos o Conjunto Flamingo (1962), for Audio Fidelity, the first, out of three LPs released by this unique band. I never thought I would hear this LP, this cover with Conjunto Flamingo members such like a bunch of waiters waiting for the wedding start always fascinates me. The legendary Primo, the same artist that everybody knows at Loronix with the LPs Sambossa and Primo Pinta o Sete is Conjunto Flamingo's leader. Personnel listing is just bellow. Tracks include:
Track List
01 - Beija-me (Roberto Martins / Mário Rossi)
02 - Eu Nasci no Morro (Ary Barroso)
03 - É Fácil Dizer Adeus (Tito Madi)
04 - Chora Tua Tristeza (Oscar Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini)
05 - Barquinho (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)

Dorival Caymmi - Eu Vou pra Maracangalha (1957)
I don't remember when or where I read something very curious about Dorival Caymmi, I think it was Chico Anysio that said it. Anyway, remember the last Dorival Caymmi release with that beautiful cover on the beach? That's right! Caymmi was starring the waves with his hair completely white and that record is from 1957. Dorival Caymmi never had workout sessions, never went to a fitness center and probably never made daily walking or running. So, what are the real benefits of workouts, fitness and all this exercise mania? Good question.
Talking seriously, Dorival Caymmi is a legend and I'm very happy to show Loronixers his third 10 inch, this is Dorival Caymmi - Eu Vou pra Maracangalha (1957), for Odeon, one of the most popular Caymmi's album with the legendary song "Eu Vou pra Maracangalha" responsible for launching Caymmi to his international recognition. Among the eight tunes of this 10", there are several well-known tunes, with accompaniement of Maestro Leo Peracchi and Alexandre Gnattali and their orchestras. The kind of release that it is impossible to miss. Tracks include:
01 - Maracangalha (Dorival Caymmi)
02 - Samba da Minha Terra (Dorival Caymmi)
03 - Saudade da Bahia (Dorival Caymmi)
04 - Acontece Que Eu Sou Baiano (Dorival Caymmi)
05 - Fiz Uma Viagem (Dorival Caymmi)
06 - Vatapá (Dorival Caymmi)
07 - Roda Pião (Dorival Caymmi)
08 - 365 Igrejas (Dorival Caymmi)

Zenilton - Namoro no Escuro (1973)
Hello, Good Night! That's right! I had a wonderful day of work, making progress on several things. In the other hand, I’m tired. When we are tired and happy, the best idea is to keep the pace and work even more. Work is great. Friday is also great. For those who like is also the day of Forro. If you are from Rio de Janeiro or if you plan to visit Rio, don't miss Centro de Tradicoes Nordestinas, which is a place such like a piece of Northeast inside Rio with Forro, dancing, food and everything you need to feel like Zenilton, one of the greatest Brazilian Forro artists.
This is Zenilton - Namoro no Escuro (1973), for Tropicana. Zenilton had some sort of revival in the early 90's by Raimundos, a really creative rock band that mixed punk rock with Forro and Baiao. The guys from Raimundos were Zenilton fans and they put Zenilton together on performance and even on recording sets of some albums. If you are not used or never heard Zenilton or any other Forro LP, try this one, it is great. This LP was kindly provided by a new friend of us, Doris, which I want to say thanks. Tracks include:
01 - Namoro no Escuro (Carlos Diniz)
02 - O Carão Tá na Lagoa (Francisco Dantas / J. Luna)
03 - O Gato e o Rato (Joca de Castro / Nelson Macedo)
04 - Meu Pernambuco (Juca Santos / Waldemir Farias da Silva)
05 - Beijar É Bom (Zenilton / José Raimundo)
06 - Zé Maria (Zenilton)
07 - Frevo na Roça (Zito Borborema / Zé Gonzaga)
08 - Paixão (Osvaldo Aude / Jair Gonçalves)
09 - Xote da Macumba (Guriatã do Coqueiro / Zenilton)
10 - Não Chore Meu Bem (Zenilton / Benivaldo Sá)
11 - Vaquejada (João Alexandre / Zenilton)
12 - Só Caso do Jeito Novo (Zenilton)

Resala's Band - Resala's Band (1969)
Warning, don't let the guy wearing a Tuxedo with the face of Mr. Bean with all these girls around him cheat you, I don't use to express my personal opinions about the albums, but with this one I want to break this rule, this LP is fantastic. Caetano said the same before giving it to us. If you buy the music by the cover, sometimes you have bad surprise and sometimes you have wonderful ones. I'm happy that this is an above average record.
This is Resala's Band - Resala's Band (1969), for RCA Victor. There is one thing that should be understood, Resala has a leader, Turquinho, the legendary drummer, already released with great success here. This is something different, a Jazz band LP lead by a drummer, so you will have a band of top-notch musicians supporting a drummer that plays wide and loud. I said it is not an any given LP, it is a record for grown-ups. Stay with tracks and personnel listing.
Personnel: Resala "Turquinho" (drums), Edgar "Capitão", Dorival "Buda", Erotides "Cunhado" and Waldir (pistom), Severino "Bill", Arlindo, Firmo, Francisco "Paco" and Iran (trombones), José Ferreira "Casé" and Arnaldo "Dinho" (sax alto), Helio Marinho and José Ribamar (sax tenor), Percio "Goiabinha" (sax baritono), Xu Viana and Gabriel (bass), Rubens "Rubão" (percussion), Paulo Lima, Zezinho and Mário Casali (Piano).
01 - Alfie (Burt Bacharach / H. David)
02 - Corrida de Jangada (Edu Lobo / Capinan)
03 - Yesterday (John Lennon / Paul McCartney)
04 - Tem Dó (Baden Powell / Vinicius de Moraes)
05 - By The Time I Get To Phoenix (J. Webb)
06 - Sá Marina (Antônio Adolfo / Tibério Gaspar)
07 - Resala's Theme (Carlos Piper)
08 - Triste (Tom Jobim)
09 - Soulful Struth (E. Record / S. Sanders)

Conjunto 3-D - Muito na Onda (1967)
Hello, Good Night! First, I need to say sorry about the duplicated track on Luiz Bonfa post. Just on that wonderful post. Bad luck. Loronix engineers are working full time to address the problem and today a fix will be available, with no Rapidshare, direct link.

Everything kind words said before applies to this record that has a mix of Bossa Nova songs with some international standards. Personnel is also great, guess who is that thin and beautiful girl on the table? She is Beth Carvalho, today a renowned Samba composer and interpreter. Helio Delmiro is also on guitar, an amazing Brazilian guitarist. Stay with tracks and complete personnel listing.

Isaura Garcia - Atualissima (1963)
Let's open some space for a Brazilian singer that has only few releases at Loronix and deserves much more. Caetano Rodrigues is responsible for this pick, selecting this nice record to Loronixers, thanks Caetano. Isaura Garcia is also a well-known singer among the fans of Walter Wanderley, she got married with Walter Wanderley, which is a kind of artist that cannot stay away longer from a recording studio and they made some LPs together.
This is Isaura Garcia - Atualissima (1963), for Odeon, directed and orchestrated by Maestro Lyrio Panicalli. Don't you think today we have amazing covers such like this one? The back cover does not list personnel and probably, Walter Wanderley was not on the set. Thanks Caetano for this LP, I never had the chance to hear and it seems that will soon become one of my Isaurinha favorites. Tracks include:
01 - Errinho Atoa (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
02 - Balansamba (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
03 - Começou de Brincadeira (Pacífico Mascarenhas)
04 - Bondinho do Pão de Açúcar (Armando Cavalcanti / Victor Freire)
05 - Questão de Moral (Roberto Faissal / Paulo Tito)
06 - Mania de Maria (Luis Bonfá / Maria Helena Toledo)
07 - Bom Dia (Billy Blanco)
08 - Samba de Duas Notas (Luis Bonfá)
09 - Receita Para Quem Quiser Voltar (Silvio César)
10 - Dan Cha Cha Cha (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
11 - Melancolia (Denis Brean)
12 - O Carrinho (Sergio Malta)

Jadir de Castro - Jadir no Samba (1962)
I was challenged today by our friend Francesca to present a good "vintage Batucada LP", according with her own words. Just want to say that there are several batucadas available at Loronix archives. What are the archives? Easy, the archives are a series of links on the right side of your screen that will lead you to the old Loronix posts, they are organized by weeks, so pick up a week and you will see several other LPs. This tip is not for you, Francesca; it is for all Loronixers that recently joined us.
I will try to please everybody with an album that has a great cover, let's see. This is Jadir de Castro - Jadir no Samba (1962), for Pawal, the debut LP of this Brazilian drummer and percussionist and also composer of several songs, including the legendary Samba do TelecoTeco. Jadir de Castro had an active international career in the 50's being also an actor in some movies and inventor of some original percussion instruments, as you can see in the cover, he mixes standard drumming with Afro percussion. Tracks include:
01 - Lição de Baião (Jadir de Castro / Daniel Marechal)
02 - Josepha (Jadir de Castro / Julio Pamies)
03 - Pourquoi (Jadir de Castro / Caco Velho)
04 - Baratin (Jadir de Castro)
05 - Samba do Ziriguidum (Jadir de Castro / Luis Bittencourt)
06 - O Vento Contou de Nós (Hércio Expedicto / Laércio Vieira)
07 - Percussão (Jadir de Castro)
08 - Imbraúna (Jadir de Castro / Nena Caboclo)
09 - Pescando Robalo (Octacilio T. de Castro / José M. Pinto)

11 - Ao Chegar Em Lisboa (Jadir de Castro / Édison Marinho)

Nelson Angelo e Joyce - Nelson Angelo e Joyce (1972)
Hello, Good Night! I will not forget that Juarez Araujo post from yesterday with the pictures sent by Jean Yves. Great. Everybody is happy, Jean sent me a very nice email and I received other warm messages from Loronixers. I just want to make one thing clear, the guy at the cover of Juarez LPs is not Juarez, perhaps a contracted person just to make the photos.
Anyway, let's talk about this post; this is Nelson Angelo e Joyce - Nelson Angelo e Joyce (1972), for Odeon, the third Joyce LP from Joyce, a Brazilian singer with several fans at Loronix. Joyce was married with Nelson Angelo when this LP was recorded in 1972. I think this makes the difference on this nice album with both playing and making several duets together as they were rehearsing on their living room. People say that this is a classic album from Brazilian MPB in the 70's. Let's check it together. Tracks include:
01 - Um Gosto de Fruta (Nelson Ângelo / Joyce)
02 - Hotel Universo (Nelson Ângelo / Ronaldo Bastos)
03 - Sete Cachorros (Nelson Ângelo / Joyce)
04 - Linda (Nelson Ângelo / Joyce)
05 - Comunhão (Nelson Ângelo / Joyce)
06 - Ponte Nova (Nelson Ângelo / Joyce) - with: Novelli
07 - The Man From The Avenue (Nelson Ângelo / Joyce)
08 - Tiro Cruzado (Nelson Ângelo / Márcio Borges)
09 - Pessoas (Nelson Ângelo / Joyce)
10 - Meus Vinte Anos (Joyce / Ronaldo Bastos)
11 - Mantra (Nelson Ângelo / Joyce)
12 - Vivo Ou Morto (Danilo Caymmi / João Carlos Pádua)
13 - Tudo Começa de Novo (Nelson Ângelo / Joyce)

Tito Madi - Chove La Fora (1957) 10P
I was thinking about the best post to close the day - What a great day with those amazing photos provided by Jean Yves - when suddenly the rain started. It was what I need to remember and decide to share with Loronixers another wonderful album provided by Caetano. The only problem was to make the cover scans when I remembered that the lamp I use to make the photos was broken. The passion of music never stops us; I left the house with a heavy rain just to buy a new lamp.
Now I'm wet, but prepared to present Tito Madi - Chove La Fora (1957), for Copacabana, the first Tito Madi 10" record. What a nice record, great cover artwork with 8 tracks to fit the 10" format. Tito Madi has the help of his favorite pianist Ribamar e Seu Conjunto, complemented by the great Chiquinho do Acordeon, Carlinhos on guitar, Lincoln (Ed Lincoln?) on bass and Julinho on drums, all highlighted below. Thanks Caetano for always amazes us with these impossible to find albums. Check personnel and tracks.

Juarez Araujo - Bossa Nova nos "States" (1962)
This is dedicated to Jean Yves, our legendary friend from France, also known as Jean do Trombone. Jean is from France and writes a perfect Portuguese, he lived in Brazil for some time, living very close to me. Jean had the great opportunity to play together with all renowned Brazilian musicians and has a special admiration to the great Juarez Araujo.
Jean is making available some pictures of himself with Juarez and another Brazilian musicians for the appreciation of Loronixers. Thanks Jean, this is really special, this kind of photo is not easy to be seen around, thanks for making available your collection.

Paulo Alencar and His Orchestra - Great Hits of Brazil (1962)
This post has a meaning to zecalouro, it will please Caetano Rodrigues, surprisingly, Caetano does not have this record and I'm very excited and happy to thrill the master. This is the second Paulo Alencar album at Loronix, the first one was provided by Caetano, Jazza Nova. Now it is zecalouro's time to give back with a single record everything that Caetano is providing to Loronixers.
This is Paulo Alencar and His Orchestra - Great Hits of Brazil (1962), for KAPP Records. The cover is explicit, this album was recorded in Rio de Janeiro, however, I think it is not an international edition of a "regular" Paulo Alencar LP, it is something tailor made for the international audience. I hope that you enjoy this LP and just want to say to Caetano that it is already on MD, for him. Tracks include:
01 - Samba de morro (Altamiro Carrilho)
02 - Amigo velho (Nascimento - de Alencar)
03 - Chorou, chorou (Luiz Antonio)
04 - Palhaçada (Barbosa - Reis)
05 - Balada triste (Vogeler - da Silva)
06 - Ninguém é de ninguém (Silva - Gomez - Mergulhao)
07 - Você passou (Vermelho - de Brito)
08 - Nêgo véio (Araujo - Tavarez)
09 - Samba feliz (Santiago - Martins)
10 - Menina moça (Luiz Antonio)
11 - Rosamelia (Humberto Teixeira)
12 - Poema da flauta (Peixe - Santiago)

Claudionor Germano - Capiba, 25 Anos de Frevo (1959)
Hello, Good Night! I will start the day with an old record from the legendary Mocambo addressing a request from CBox for a post with music from the Brazilian Northeast region. I would like also to say that several friends are asking for another Brazilian genres, such like, Forro, Baiao, Frevo and many others from that region and zecalouro can do his best to release such music. However, he is not a specialist and does not have much in his collection. Once in a while, some posts with these genres can appear, actually, he is scheduling a record from the legendary Zenilton in a few weeks.
This is Claudionor Germano - Capiba, 25 Anos de Frevo (1959), for Mocambo, will all songs performed by Claudionor Germano and all tunes composed by Capiba on a tribute to Capiba, which is certainly the most important composer of Brazil Northeast and a real legendary artist. Tracks include:

Dick Farney - Dick Farney Jazz (1962)
Here is another Dick Farney LP at Loronix. It is amazing how Dick Farney is getting popular here, not by his singing, but for his piano playing. Several friends write me really pleased when they realize that Dick Farney is not only a singer, also a top-notch jazz pianist. This whole LP is from the piano side of Dick Farney. I will show you.
This is Dick Farney - Dick Farney Jazz (1962), for RGE, kindly provided by Caetano to Loronixers. This LP had an reissue in CD, 1994, going out of print later on. Caetano shares with us the CD edition, so you will have a high quality sound with no scratches from the old LPs.
Dick Farney has the accompaniment of great musicians on an early stage of their carrers. Claudio Slon plays drums; the third from left to right, just arrived from Argentina, his birth land. If Slon looks familiar, you are probably remembering an Astrud Gilberto cover artwork, A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness. Unfortunately Claudio has passed a few years ago, in 2002. The sax player is the legendary Hector Costita, also from Argentina. Costita is a well-known artist to many Loronixers who had alread the chance to reach Costita's earlier releases. The bass player is Mario Algusto Monteiro da Silva. Tracks include:
01 - Swanee RiverR (S. Foster)
02 - These Foolish Things (Marvel Strachey)
03 - Rge Blues (Dick Farney)
04 - Improviso Nº 1 (Dick Farney)
05 - Georgia On My Mind (S. Gorrel / H. Carmichael)

Os Guanabara Boys - Dancando com as Garotas (N/A)
Let's move forward presenting another fine selection from our friend Caetano Rodrigues, a very hard to find Bossa Nova LP with several hidden surprises on it. Thanks Caetano, I think Loronixers will have a lot of fun with this release.
This is Os Guanabara Boys - Dancando com as Garotas (N/A), for Imperial. The tracklist is one of the surprises, it is almost impossible to realize this record date, but we can consider this LP an early conceptual record, since all tracks have songs with names of women. Second hidden treasure is the crooner, the lead singer, by the way, another successful Caetano Rodrigues analysis; he could identify the voice of Aloysio de Oliveira from previous recordings, specially those ones at the box set O Maximo da Bossa, for Elenco. The third and last can be easily found examining the back cover, all arrangements are from Antonio Carlos Jobim and Orlando Silveira.
Twelve songs with name of girls, the Legendary Aloysio de Oliveira on lead vocals and all arrangements by Antonio Carlos Jobim, you cannot go wrong with Os Guanabara Boys. Tracks include:
01 - Aurora (Mário Lago / Roberto Roberti)
02 - Helena Helena (Antônio Almeida / Constantino Silva "Secundino")
03 - Zazá (Joel de Almeida)
04 - Rosa Morena (Dorival Caymmi)
05 - Emília (Haroldo Lobo / Wilson Batista)
06 - Maria (Ary Barroso / Luis Peixoto)
07 - Marina (Dorival Caymmi)
08 - Dolores (Arlindo Marques Júnior / Marino Pinto / Alberto Ribeiro)
09 - Ai Que Saudades da Amélia (Ataulfo Alves / Mário Lago)
10 - Magdalena (Ari Macedo / Airton Amorim)
11 - Juraci (Antônio Almeida / Ciro de Souza)
12 - Um Nome de Mulher (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)

Pachequinho - A Orquestra Jovem de Pachequinho (1969)
Hello, Good Night! Mon told me: always follow the advice of people more experienced than you... If I remember this advice, I could never bring this album from the vinyl fair in Sao Paulo. I'm not saying that this is a bad LP, but its music has absolutely nothing to do with this nice cover and the title, referencing youth and with two young dudes kissing each other.
Caetano told me, never jump into a record by the appearance without known others albums from the same label. This is Pachequinho - A Orquestra Jovem de Pachequinho (1969), for Parlophone, an orchestra album from Maestro Pachequinho with orchestrated versions of classic American tunes. Period. Not a bad record, but completed disconnected from the title and cover artwork spirit. If I heard Caetano... Tracks include:
01 - A Time For Us
02 - I Started a Joke
03 - O Amor Que Não É Pra Mim
04 - Tentei Lhe Esquecer
05 - Foi Você
06 - Love Me Do
07 - Sounds Of Silence
08 - Angel Of The Morning
09 - Silence Is Golden
10 - These Eyes

Waltinho e Seu Conjunto - Magi Ritmo
Here we close the day with another Caetano Rodrigues release, it is not necessary to say that it is a wonderful release. There is a problem with Caetano's release; they are so good that I think that nobody stops to read what zecalouro has to say. Actually, Caetano LPs are so rare and obscure that I cannot find much information available to share with Loronixers. But this is not an issue, it is a wonderful thing, such records are really out of my reach and out of reach of everybody. This is a unique and a once in a lifetime opportunity to listen to this wonderful music that without the effort of friends such like Caetano should be disappeared forever.
That's exactly the situation with this LP, this is Waltinho e Seu Conjunto - Magi Ritmo (N/A), for MagiSom, a nice collection of classic Bossa Nova tunes arranged by Waltinho and performed by his piano and vibraphone and Seu Conjunto. There is also a beautiful and not identified group of singers making nice vocals on each song. Really beautiful, groovy and unique. The cover artwork drags you at a first sight and the music will keep you with Waltinho for days. Thanks Caetano for another great LP. Tracks include:
01 - Mas Que Nada (Jorge Ben "Jorge Benjor")
02 - Influência do Jazz (Carlos Lyra)
03 - O Que Eu Gosto de Você (Silvio César)
04 - Samba Internacional (Sidney Morais)
05 - Hora Certa (Waltinho / Caco Velho)
06 - Bossa na Praia (Geraldo Cunha / Pery Ribeiro)
07 - Garota de Ipanema (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
08 - Bolinha de Sabão (Orlann Divo / Adilson Azevedo)
09 - Me Lembro Vagamente (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
10 - Miss Balanço (Hélton Menezes)
11 - Nôa Nôa (Sergio Mendes)
12 - Rio (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)

MPB-4 - MPB-4 (1966)
I could not find a reasonable answer for a friend question this week regarding the absence of the legendary Brazilian vocal group MPB-4 solo releases. Good question by this friend. MPB-4, with Os Cariocas and Quarteto em Cy, are together the most important Brazilian vocal groups of all time releasing several albums during decades since the 60’s.
This is MPB-4 - MPB-4 (1966), for Elenco, MPB-4 debut LP, produced by Aloysio de Oliveira and arranged by Maestro Lindolfo Gaya. MPB-4 is more associated with the Brazilian MPB from the 70's while Os Cariocas started earlier with a strong association with Bossa Nova from the 60's. Perhaps this is the reason for this late appearance at Loronix. Tracks include:
01 - Manhã de Liberdade (Nelson Lins e Barros / Marco Antônio Menezes)
02 - Agora É Cinza (Alcebíades Barcelos "Bide" / Armando "Marçal")
03 - Juca (Chico Buarque)
04 - Poema do Mar (Márcio Proença / João Carlos)
05 - Sonho de Um Carnaval (Chico Buarque)
06 - Olê Olá (Chico Buarque)
07 - Tereza Tristeza (Chico Buarque)
08 - Lamento (Pixinguinha / Vinicius de Moraes)
09 - Trem Parador (Sergio Ricardo)
10 - Samba Lamento (Luis Marçal Neto)

Manfredo Fest - Brazilian Dorian Dream (1976)
Hello, good night! Let's make a great start today with a recommendation of Ed Motta, who said enthusiastically that this LP is one of the greatest releases of Manfredo Fest. Let’s check Ed Motta’s pick.
This is Manfredo Fest - Brazilian Dorian Dream (1976), for TM Productions, if I'm not wrong, the last record released by Manfredo Fest. Brazilian Dorian Dream was recorded in the United States, Minneapolis, with Manfredo Fest (piano and synthesizers), Thomas Kini (bass), Alejo Poveda (drums and percussion) and Roberta Davis (vocals). Thanks for Ed Motta, not for the music, but for the recommendation. Tracks include:
01 - Brazilian Dorian Dream (Manfredo Fest)
02 - Facing East (Manfredo Fest)
03 - Jungle Cat (Manfredo Fest)
04 - That's What She Says (Manfredo Fest)
05 - Slaughter On Tenth Avenue (R. Rogers)
06 - Who Needs It (Manfredo Fest)
07 - Braziliana Nº 1 (Manfredo Fest)

Trio Samba - Samba! Samba! Samba! (1964) with Carlos Piper e Sua Orquestra
The first question you will make after hearing 30 second of the first track of this LP will be: Why they record only this album and disappear? I will do the same just in case if a friend has a answer to it. Why these girls did not follow on recordings? What happened? Another strike of Caetano Rodrigues, a vocal trio and their first and only LP that could easily be positioned such like Quarteto em Cy is today as a female vocal group.
I invite you to try the surprising Trio Samba - Samba! Samba! Samba! (1964), for Philips. I could track this time two members of Trio Samba, Wilma Camargo, a well-known Maestro, arranger and composer, with a solid contribution to Brazilian music and also a successful actress and Triana Romero that could also make her living with music that is retired today making some eventual presentations. The remaining member, Marina Fernanda Gradilone (Polly), could not be searched.
In spite of the wonderful vocal trio, Samba! Samba! Samba! has Carlos Piper e Sua Orquestra with beautiful arrangements. Tracks include:
01 - Doce Amor (Wilma Camargo)
02 - Rio (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
03 - Poeta Popular (Wilma Camargo)
04 - Mas Que Nada (Jorge Ben "Jorge Benjor")
05 - Ilhabela (Wilma Camargo)
06 - Por Causa de Você Menina (Jorge Ben "Jorge Benjor")
07 - Bolinha de Sabão (Orlann Divo / Adilson Azevedo)
08 - Quase Amor (Wilma Camargo)
09 - Insensatez (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
10 - Samba das Cores (Wilma Camargo)
11 - Ai Seu Eu Pudesse (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
12 - Vagamente (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
