Irany Pinto e Seu Conjunto - Sambas em Surdina (1959)

Hello, good evening! I cannot remember a busy and great week such as this one at Loronix. We had many events and a LOT of work. We had an important milestone reaching 3 million page views. Our funding campaign was also an extraordinary event. Loronix community could gather a considerable amount of money to purchase a dedicated server. I thought that it would take 20 days to accomplish our target and in only 2 days our goal was reached.

Your response brings a great responsibility, and I decided to give a immediate response, putting the server in action in only two days. Actually, there were four days of intensive work, two days setting up the entire server and two days preparing our new website, Loronix Happy Hour, so far a great success, with over 150 subscriptions from several countries.

The greatest Happy Hour functionality is the availability of the last Loronix day with no Rapidshare, making things much easier for those who follow Loronix on a daily basis.

Well, I spoke a lot, but I did not say how much I am satisfied with Loronix and the community that was created around the website. Thank you.

This is Irany Pinto e Seu Conjunto – Sambas em Surdina (1959), for Odeon, featuring the Brazilian violinist Irany Pinto, a true legend, such as Fafa Lemos. Irany Pinto was active on recordings, releasing more than 20 LPs between the late 50’s until the 70’s. Musicians in this session were not credited by Odeon. Remember that Sambas em Surdina will be available with no Rapidshare at Loronix Happy Hour until tomorrow. Tracks include:

01 - Feitico da Vila (Noel Rosa / Vadico)
02 - Caminhemos (Herivelto Martins)
03 - No Rancho Fundo (Lamartine Babo / Ary Barroso)
04 - Eu Nao Existo Sem Voce (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
05 - Copacabana (Joao de Barro / Alberto Ribeiro)
06 - Minha Prece (Haroldo Eiras / Ciro V. Cunha)
07 - Castigo (Dolores Duran)
08 - Molambo (Jaime Florence "Meira" / Augusto Mesquita)
09 - Ouca (Maysa)
10 - Balada Triste (Dalton Vogeler / Esdras Pereira da Silva)
11 - Sempre Teu (Jose Maria de Abreu / Jair Amorim)
12 - Pra Esquecer (Noel Rosa)

Baden Powell e Paulo Cesar Pinheiro - "Os Cantores da Lapinha" (1970)

What a day! I’m tired and my eyes hurt, but I cannot finish this great day without music at Loronix. I’m tired and I need to be really straightforward this time. This is Baden Powell and Paulo Cesar Pinheiro performing their compositions with a vocal group called Os Cantores da Lapinha, which is probably a temporary group assembled only for this recording session. By the way, another nice Jorge Mello’s contribution, waited for many friends at Loronix. Let’s see.

This is Baden Powell e Paulo Cesar Pinheiro – As Musicas de Baden Powell e Paulo Cesar Pinheiro | Os Cantores da Lapinha (1970), for Elenco. Os Cantores da Lapinha is a solid Samba LP with Baden Powell singing. You will not find instrumental tracks. My highlight goes to 07 – Falei e Disse (Baden Powell / Paulo Cesar Pinheiro), which is also my choice to Loronix Preview Center. Tracks include:

01 - Aviso aos Navegantes (Baden Powell / Paulo Cesar Pinheiro)
02 - Quaquaraquaqua (Vou Deitar e Rolar) (Baden Powell / Paulo Cesar Pinheiro)
03 - Refem da Solidao (Baden Powell / Paulo Cesar Pinheiro)
04 - Carta de Poeta (Baden Powell / Paulo Cesar Pinheiro)
05 - Lapinha (Baden Powell / Paulo Cesar Pinheiro)
06 - E de Lei (Baden Powell / Paulo Cesar Pinheiro)
07 - Falei e Disse (Baden Powell / Paulo Cesar Pinheiro)
08 - Ponto (Baden Powell / Paulo Cesar Pinheiro)
09 - Violao Vadio (Baden Powell / Paulo Cesar Pinheiro)
10 - Samba do Perdao (Baden Powell / Paulo Cesar Pinheiro)

Loronix Dedicated Server | Campaign Finished!

I spent with Loronix certified admins last six hours on our new dedicated server initial setup and application and database transfers to the new system. This is really a major step and I could not make it without your help. The initial setup is finished, and Loronix should load faster as soon as DNS information propagates across the Internet. This process takes 24 hours to complete.

I’m making available below the invoice with SERVER4YOU dedicated server provider.

I’m going back to pick a new release to close the day, a very important day at Loronix.

Thank you very much.

Corisco e Os Sambaloucos - Show de Bossa (1963)

Hello, good evening! Let’s update one of the albums that I like most, released a long time ago at Loronix, precisely, January 15th. I could never understand why people did not comment this one. Perhaps this minimalistic black and white Philips cover did not gather our community attention or the music was not well transferred. Anyway, I’m happy to bring Show de Bossa to the spotlight again, the transfer is much better and the missing back cover is now available. Let’s see.

This Corisco e Os Sambaloucos – Show de Bossa (1963), for Philips. Corisco e Os Sambaloucos is lead by Waldemar Marchetti, a Brazilian percussionist very active in the 60’s, releasing with Corisco e Os Sambaloucos more than five albums. Corisco always brings top-notch musicians to his recording sessions and Show de Bossa is not different, featuring Hamilton Godoy (the legendary Zimbo Trio pianist), Healdo do Monte (guitar), Xu (bass) and others. Tracks include:

Waldemar Marchetti

Dedicated Server Funding Campaign | Status Update

Dear Friends,

Just a quick fix on our funding campaign. The Economy L US$ 708 target was already accomplished with less than 24 hours. THANK YOU!!! However, Economy L is SOLD OUT. This is the fix. Our target was just changed to Premium L, US$ 828, which is only a US$ 120 increase.

Sorry about this change and thanks once again for this amazing funding campaign for the new Loronix Dedicated Server.

Thanks, zeca

Dedicated Server Campaign - Help Needed!

Hello, good evening! I’m asking for help to address a serious issue, which is the poor performance and availability of Loronix applications. Nice features, such as Loronix Preview Center, Find It and Rapidshare links are not working as they use to be in the past. The cause is a lack on computer resources. I’ve been spending a LOT of time managing this situation with fine tunings and several moves and configuration changes, and this is making my available time to transfer music and making posts almost disappear.

This is a serious situation. With the resources available I cannot launch new features and the existent ones will perform badly and even will get down as our community grows. Loronix runs on shared hosting space, with our applications sharing computer power with several other users. Sometimes they even put our applications off-line, since I’m considered a resource eater.

The viable and long term solution is contract a dedicated server, instead of sharing resources with others. However, this is a very expensive move and I cannot afford without your help. I made a selection among several dedicated hosting providers and I found what I consider the best price against performance ratio, which is this dedicated server at SERVER4YOU, one of best Dedicated Hosting providers worldwide.

I need to collect US$ 708.00 until August 15th to order a whole year with this dedicated server, which is SERVER4YOU ECONOMY L server. Tech specifications and price are available at this link.

A donation campaign was created with PayPal and we can watch status and make donations with Chipin Gadget, already available at Loronix sidebar and below. If you cannot use PayPal, you can also collaborate, send me an email and I give you alternatives.

Thanks in advance for your support. I’m confident this will be a successful initiative and Loronix will be really a better place to be with this new and required resource.

Thank you!
