Os Bossa Tres - Os Bossa Tres (1963)

It happened again, I was looking at the old posts for a nice record of the legendary Bossa Tres trio to make a repost to new Loronixers. The great surprise is that I could not find their debut LP and this is a wonderful surprise, instead of a repost, we have a brand new LP, never shown to Loronixers before.

This is Os Bossa Tres - Os Bossa Tres (1963), for Audio Fidelity, their debut LP, featuring what is considered their best formation with Luiz Carlos Vinhas (piano), Tiao Neto (bass) and Edison Machado (drums). Bossa Tres was formed in 1961 and is known as the first instrumental Bossa Nova trio. Every day we learn something new at Loronix, I just read that Bossa Tres performed with Lennie Dale in the Ed Sulivan Show, years before Beatles presentation at the same show when they conquered the US. Tracks include:

01 - Blues Walk (C. Brown)
02 - Céu e Mar (Johnny Alf)
03 - Green Dolphin Street (Washington / Kaper)
04 - Menina Feia (Oscar Castro Neves)
05 - Sol e Chuva (D. Payne)
06 - Olhou Pra Mim (Ed Lincoln)
07 - Tema Bossa Três (Tião Neto)
08 - Não Faz Assim (Oscar Castro Neves)
09 - Somebody Loves Me (George Gershwin)
10 - Só Saudade (Tom Jobim)
11 - Influência do Jazz (Carlos Lyra)
12 - Zelão (Sergio Ricardo)

Renato Perez - Samba Toff (1964)

I have been skipping this post daily for just a single reason; I don't know what to say about it, except my own opinion. If you want to know my opinion, which is the only information available so far, I have to tell you that this is an album that you cannot miss. Let's see why.

This is Renato Perez - Samba Toff (1964), for Chantecler, an album that can make the day of those who like instrumental music and the ones that requires lyrics. Renato Perez probably plays sax, highlighted throughout the LP and Helinha Leporacce sings some tracks. Truly great from start to end and really nice for a Saturday night. I hope Loronixers have fun with this LP. Tracks include:

01 - Mas Que Nada (Jorge Ben "Jorge Benjor")
02 - Isensatez (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
03 - Menina Feia (Oscar Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini)
04 - Duas Contas (Garoto) with Renato Perez / Helinha Leporacce
05 - Samba Jazz (Armando de Paula)
06 - Lua de Mel (Airton Ávila) with Helinha Leporacce / Renato Perez

08 - Samba Toff (Orlann Divo / Roberto Jorge)
09 - Bolinha de Sabão (Orlann Divo / Adilson Azevedo)
10 - Você Nem Telefona (Lauro Miranda) with Renato Perez / Helinha Leporacce
11 - Canção de Amor (Chocolate / Elano de Paula)
12 - Brinquedo de Menino (Generoso / Venâncio) with Renato Perez / Helinha Leporacce

Jorge Henrique - Dancando Face a Face (1959)

Hello, good night! I received several emails from Loronixers asking for directions to purchase Caetano's book on Bossa Nova LP covers. Unfortunately, this book is out of print. I was released on a very limited edition. That's why Caetano had that idea of making that film showing what is inside to Loronixers. I hope it was useful. A digital camera with several limitations made the movie, perhaps one day we can make a second turn with more time and quality.

Let's start the day with a record that someone sent me several months ago and I could never find a reason to share, but a friend show me that this artist was of great importance in the past and made several collaborations with renowned artists, such like Luiz Bonfa on the anthological EP De Cigarro em Cigarro (1957), 10-inch, for Continental.

This is Jorge Henrique - Dancando Face a Face (1959), for Radio, featuring Jorge Henrique (organ), Alan Gordon (piano) and Hugo Lander (drums). Although Jorge Henrique is the main performer on this LP, Radio gives main performer credits to the three trio components. It will be nice to see Jorge Henrique trio with two keyboards, organ and piano and no bass player, probably, Jorge Henrique makes the bass line on his left hand. That's it; fans of Luiz Bonfa should appreciate this release. Tracks include:

01 - Cinco Letras que Choram
02 - Dois Coracoes
03 - Acercate Mas
04 - Because of You
05 - Reconciliacao
06 - Incertidumbre
07 - Cabelos Brancos
08 - Juramento Falso
09 - Concerto d'autunno
10 - Preto Velho
11 - Tedio

Special Post | zecalouro shows Caetano Rodrigues Bossa Nova e Outras Bossas Book

This is for many friends that have been asking us about Caetano's Bossa Nova book, released a year ago and already a sought after collectors and fans piece. Caetano had this idea yesterday and I got excited to do that, and just did with very limited resources as we are used to do down here.

There are two different movies with Portuguese and English audio. I suggest that you watch both, since different parts of the book were shown on each movie.

Thanks for this idea, Caetano, who knows we make a next one with Caetano speaking next time in Sao Paulo?

Hope uEnjoy!

Billy Blanco - Musicas de Billy Blanco na Voz do Proprio (1966)

This post is dedicated to The Jazzman, a great Loronixer that joinned us recently and since his first day does not hesitate on sending emails, shouting at the CBox and writing posts at the Forum. The Jazzman made a zecalouro picture a couple of days ago that I could not resist sharing with Loronixers, it is at the right as a smal picture and you can click to see it big. The Jazzman is a Billy Blanco fan and everyday remembers be to launch this anthological Billy Blanco record, that is what we will see right now.

This is Billy Blanco - Musicas de Billy Blanco na Voz do Proprio (1966), for Elenco, Billy Blanco debut LP and the first solo album at Loronix that Billy Blanco does what I like most of him, his beautiful and sweet voice that makes a nice counterpoint with his strong character with that big moustache that is all about Billy Blanco. Really nice, you cannot miss this record. I'm also showing a video featuring Billy Blanco and his grandchildren Pedro Sol, live at J-Club performing Teresa da Praia. Tracks include:

Yesterday, we received a hint from the great Loronixer Beto Kessel of a TV Globo soundtrack that Loronixers should not miss. Thanks for this recommendation and the previous ones, Beto.

Question | Who is this Singer?

I was surfing around for nothing today at Orkut and I read some friends trying to identify who is this singer performing Preciso Aprender a Ser So (Paulo Sergio Valle / Marcos Valle). I decided to bring the video to Loronix and see how we manage this mystery. I know that Refer should identify easy the singer, the day, where it was, the color of her hear rings, etc. Anyway, who is she?

Please make your try in comments section.

I Hope uIdentify!

Carioca e Sua Orquestra - Classicos no Samba (1960)

Hello, Good Night! Let's talk today about how the LPs get damaged along the years and how to get things fixed. I think this post is a perfect example to talk about this. This beautiful cover has been on earth since 1960, 47 years and how it gets hurt since them. I use to make some fixes using computer graphics, but I decided to show it unchanged this time.

I have some questions, how to get rid of that bands with glue used to fix the corners and borders? How to clean the surface and remove dirty with no damage to cover paper. How to remove paper seals and how to eliminate the round marks of the LP borders at the cover? Pencil marks; is there a way to get rid of them? Sorry, for the several questions, but sometimes we need to pull knowledge from friends instead of trying from scratch. Thanks. Going back to the music...

This is Carioca e Sua Orquestra - Classicos no Samba (1960), for RCA Victor, a creative album from Maestro Carioca, making his renditions of a selected repertoire of classical music with the rhythm of Samba. It is very interest to see how many times the bridge between classical music and popular music was addressed along the years with catastrophic results sometimes. This is not the case. Doris Monteiro e Miltinho - Doris, Miltinho e Charme (1971)

There is a group of friend at Orkut, a community relationship website, that kindly accept an invitation to join the community of Loronix users I have created two or three months ago. There, I have been receiving some interesting feedback about Loronix and this post is to thanks Mutillo, he said that the best LP at Loronix is Miltinho - As Mulheres de Miltinho. Great choice Murillo, I think you will find this one awesome.

This is Doris Monteiro e Miltinho - Doris, Miltinho e Charme Vol. 2 (1971), for Odeon, the second out of the series of 4 LPs Miltinho recorded with the Diva Doris Monteiro. If you are looking for the Volume 1, take a look at the archives. These Doris Monteiro and Miltinho albums are really nice, if you are looking for Samba, to great artists playing and singing with each other, this is for you. Tracks include:

Dick Farney Trio - 5 Anos de Jazz (1977)

Here we go again with this amazing record that deserves the status of the "closing post" of the day. However, it always happen, I look at this cover late at night and I fell disturbed and afraid, so let's make it earlier, a wonderful LP showing the jazz pianist side of this great artist.

This is Dick Farney Trio - 5 Anos de Jazz (1977), for London, recorded live. I don't know where this LP was record, maybe on a small place taking in consideration the number of hands clapping. I spoke with Caetano in Sao Paulo about this LP and he strongly recommends, Caetano does not use to be wrong. Dick Farney Trio is Dick Farney (piano), Saba (bass) and Toninho (drums). I'm showing a video originally posted on YouTube by the great Loronixer Paulo Bitencourt. You can visit his website at http://www.bitencourt.net. As Paulo said, this is a late Dick Farney and his voice is not on his best, he sings Copacabana and I strongly recommend that you watch it. Tracks include:

Movie | Donald and Ze Carioca - Blame it on the Samba (1948) with Ethel Smith

Hello, Good Night! While Loronix engineers are working hard to prepare the day, why another video with Donald and Ze Carioca? I think it is a nice idea.

This is Blame it on the Samba (1948), with the participation of Ethel Smith, acknowledged as the "First Lady of the Hammond Organ". Ethel plays his Hammond on this film, making a mess with Ze Carioca and Donald, masterpiece. It is the first time I see an Hammond played in 1948. I read that Ethel Smith spent a time in Brazil collaborating to make the musical bridge of that time.

Hope uEnjoy!

Baden Powell & Vinicius de Moraes - De Baden para Vinicius (1981)

I have been taking this LP as the re-issue of Baden & Vinicius - Afrosambas (1966), that is the reason for never give the deserved attention to it. This is very common and can occur several times if you are cover oriented, such like me. I'm happy to realize that, so we have a brand new LP to explore today. Let's see.

This is Baden Powell & Vinicius de Moraes - De Baden para Vinicius (1981), for WEA, recorded at Teatro Clara Nunes - Rio de Janeiro between July and August 1980 as part of the show "Nosso Banden". Nothing can go wrong when you have Baden Powell and Vinicius de Moraes together. Baden Powell is backed by Hélio Schiavo (drums), Saulo Bezerra de Melo (bass), Alfredo Bessa (percussion) and Ovídio (Pandeiro and Cuíca). Tracks include:

Flora Purim - Flora e M.P.M (1964)

Here is the first Flora Purim album at Loronix. If someone needs to be blamed by such delay, blame it on zecalouro, several friends have been asking for this post since the beginning. Everybody says that this record is essential for any serious Bossa Nova collector. Personnel listing itself, also worth the admission price. I hope you enjoy Flora Purim.

This is Flora Purim - Flora e M.P.M (1964), for RCA Victor, Flora's debut LP, featuring a cast of top-notch musicians. If you know Flora Purim for her late US releases, you will have a great surprise with this LP, Flora Purim sings Bossa Nova here and makes it on a great way. Conjunto D'Angelo - Incrementado (1968)

This band and LP is a complete mystery for me and probably for the friends who had already the chance to hear it. Actually, this album sounds very similar to that last release by Conjunto Balambossa - Poema do Adeus. I received several messages with compliments by that release. It is amazing how people like the sound and groove of the Hammond B3 organ. I would like to know who is behind this record. Let's see what we have here.

This is Conjunto D'Angelo - Muito Incrementado (1968), for Equipe. That's all I know about it, anyway, it is a sought after album that I could find on some auction sites for more than a hundred dollars. Feedback is really appreciated. Tracks include:

Bob Fleming - Mr. Sax Serie C

Hello, good night! I will start the day saying Welcome! to several new friends that had their first contact with Loronix today. Mariana Barros, from a major Brazilian newspaper in Sao Paulo, Folha de Sao Paulo, wrote an article mentioning Loronix, Thanks Mariana!

I made a try today to scare zecalouro with this cover and he could not understand that the image of a kitten as a real kitten. Perhaps the capacity of associate pictures with real forms is only a human gift. Ok! I'm finished with rubbish, let's talk about the music.

This is Bob Fleming - Mr. Sax Serie C (no date), for Musidisc. If you are thinking we have a new artist to explore or a special post of an international musician, don't stop reading. Bob Fleming is Moacyr Silva, the legendary Brazilian sax player with many LPs already presented to Loronixers. I could not check Moacyr Silvas reasons to adopt this alternative name for some recordings on Musidisc. Caetano is also also very interested to understand this character, Bob Fleming, since Bob Fleming still releasing for Musidisc after Moacyr Silva departure to Copacabana (record label).

The questions are many, for instance: Moacyr Silva performed which Bob Fleming records? Who is the second Bob Fleming besides Moacyr Silva? If you have something to add to this pile of uncertain, feel free to come and say. By the way, this record is truly amazing. Tracks include:

01 - Manhattan (Rodgers / Hart)
02 - I Get a Kick Out Of You (Cole Porter)
03 - Dancing In The Dark (Schwartz / Dietz)
04 - Who (O. Harbach / O. Hammerstein II)

06 - Affair To Remember (Harold Adamson / Harry Warren)
07 - Blue Moon (Rodgers / Hart)
08 - I'm In The Mood For Love (MC Hugh / Heusen)
09 - All My Tomorrows (Sammy Cahn / Heusen)
10 - Over The Rainbow (Harold Harlen / E. Y. Harbourg)
11 - Exodus (Gold)
12 - Stellaby (Washington / Victor Young)

Tamba Trio - Tempo (1964)

I was thinking about a repost showing something really great and solid to several new friends that came to Loronix in the last weeks. Tamba Trio was in my mind and I was convinced that we had no missing "essentials" Tamba Trio records to show. I was wrong. It is unbelievable that I never consider this great records, one of the best releases of this great Trio lead by Luiz Eca. This will be really cool. I hope you have the same pleasure hearing this album that I had to hear again and show to Loronixers.

This is Tamba Trio - Tempo (1964), for Philips, featuring Luiz Eca (arrangements, musical direction and piano), Bebeto Castilho (bass) and Helcio Milito (drums). I like to associate events and Caetano asked for saying to Loronixers to do not miss the concert where this LP was released, which is E Tempo de Musica Moderna (1965), here. For those who did not miss that nice Caetano's release, it is now clear and easy to understand the association of the word Tempo on both albums. This is truly self-explanatory. Stay with Tamba Trio while I'm coming back to watch Wilson Simonal video again. Tracks include:

01 - Borandá (Edu Lobo)
02 - Nuvens (Durval Ferreira / Maurício Einhorn)
03 - Se Eu Pudesse Voltar (Luis Bonfá / Maria Helena Toledo)

12 - Moto Contínuo (Radamés Gnattali)

Video | Wilson Simonal, Silvio Cesar and others (1966)

If you like these vintage videos you will have a party here, 9 minutes of excerpts from the film Na Onda do Ie Ie Ie (1966), featuring Wilson Simonal, Silvio Cesar and many others that you will realize for yourself. On IMDB, Ed Lincoln is listed, ooopss! I will keep my mouth shut this time.

Hope uEnjoy!

Silvio Cesar - Silvio Cesar (1983)

When deciding the posts of the day, in the beginning of the night, or with Caetano Rodrigues after 8 PM (most cases), it is very important to keep in mind some pitfalls, you cannot post four instrumental albums on a single day, or two female singers together and many other different criteria you have to manage. This is the reason some friends get mad when I meant to do something and the outcome is completely different. Caetano is an example, we just finished a phone call with a plan and now I'm here - ten minutes later - showing something different to Loronixers. I hope you trust me on my selections.

This is Silvio Cesar - Silvio Cesar (1983), for Independente Musica, which is probably the record with the greatest personnel list ever at Loronix, featuring Geraldo Vespar, Sergio Carvalho, Wilson das Neves, Chico Batera, Rafael Rabello, Orlann Divo, Hermeto Pascoal and others. Full personnel listing is provided with the music. Special attention to the autograph on cover. Tracks include:

02 - Companheiro (Silvio César / João Nogueira) with João Nogueira
03 - Passado e Futuro (Silvio César)

08 - Loucura e Razão (Silvio César) with Jane Duboc e Grupo Aquarius
09 - A Mais Antiga Profissão (Silvio César)
10 - Primavera / Outono (Sergio Carvalho / Silvio César)

Portinho e Sua Orquestra Escaldante - Fogo nos Metais (1971)

Hello, Good Night! Today was dedicated to housekeeping, not at Loronix, I'm talking about the real world. I received several new albums and bought some others during the remaining weeks, so I decided to wash them all. It is easy; all you need is water, soap and your hands as a brush, making circles on the same orientation of the needle. In the middle of the work, I found this one to start our day.

This is Portinho e Sua Orquestra Escaldante - Fogo nos Metais (1971), for Copacabana. It was very nice to hear Portinho on a late album; we are used to hear his LPs from the early 60's. Portinho uses the same approach of Juarez on his 1976 release, taking a more popular repertoire with more percussion instruments on the set. I said that Maestro Portinho is the master of mixing Samba with orchestra and he makes it again. This cover is alone a reason to be attracted by this record with Portinho in the middle of his musicians and instruments. Tracks include:

01 - O Cafona (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
02 - Pé de Manacá (Hervé Cordovil / Marisa Pinto Coelho)
03 - Mas Que Doidice (Antônio Carlos Marques / Jocafi)
04 - Ai Que Saudades da Amélia (Ataulfo Alves / Mário Lago)
05 - Você Abusou (Antônio Carlos Marques / Jocafi)
06 - Foi Um Rio Que Passou Em Minha Vida (Paulinho da Viola) -- Festa Para Um Rei Negro (Zuzuca)
07 - Tema de Fogo nos Metais (Portinho)
08 - Shirley - Sexy (Fred Falcão / Arnoldo Medeiros)
09 - Odete (Herivelto Martins)
10 - Menina da Ladeira (João Só)
11 - Esta Noite Serenou (Hervé Cordovil)
12 - Tema da Gaiola de Ouro (Alfredo Borba)

Ipanema Pop Orchestra - Bossa Nova Meets USA (1965)

I received two emails asking why Elizeth Cardoso, Zimbo Trio and Jacob do Bandolim LP is divided in four different files, the reason is quite simple, it is a double LP and was record with the always requested 320Kbps. That's why it was splitted on that way. This should not be a barrier to listen to that legendary record that really worth the download with four parts.

Anyway, remember the first Ipanema Pop Orchestra LP released with the help of Caetano Rodrigues? I'm sure that everybody remembers, it was very successful, featuring three Brazilian arrangers, Luiz Eça, Eumir Deodato and Maestro Cipo. They are now back, with different arrangers and the same concept.

This is Ipanema Pop Orchestra - Bossa Nova Meets USA (1965), for London, featuring the Brazilian arrangers Cipo, J.T. Meirelles and K-Ximbinho, one of my favorite artists that unfortunately released a few records, all very hard to find. It is late at night down here and I do not want to get much of your attention this time, stay with Bossa Nova Meets USA. Tracks include:

01 - Charade (Henry Mancini / Mercer) arrangements:
Cipo
02 - Tonight (L. Bernstein / S. Sondheim) arrangements:
J.T. Meirelles
03 - Witchcraft (C. Coleman / C. Leigh) arrangements:
Cipo
04 - Tender Is The Night (S. Fain / Paul Francis Webster) arrangements:
Cipo
05 - Call Me Irresponsible (S. Cahn / J. V. Heusen) arrangements:
Cipo
06 - I Let My Heart In San Francisco (D. Cross / G. Cory) arrangements:
Cipo

Anna Lucia - O Encanto e a Voz de Anna Lucia (1961)

Friends, I'm really moved by that Ze Carioca film. I think many friends from Brazil in the age of 35 to 45 are having the same feeling. Anyway, the show must go on.

We will see here a great Brazilian singer on another fine Caetano release. By the way, people think that I'm an expert on Brazilian music and this really surprises me. I've been with the music for many years, but I learned several new things with Loronix. Actually, everyday I learn something new. Refer is responsible for many discoveries and this artist was pointed out by him. I think I'm still emotive with Ze Carioca, he remembers me zecalouro, my great green friend. He is sleeping right now; I will go there to scratch his head for a while after this post. Let's proceed.

This is Anna Lucia - O Encanto e a Voz de Anna Lucia (1961), for Philips, already released at Loronix by Mr. K and now improved by Caetano with the high quality music and cover artwork that this great record deserves. As most of the early 60's and late 50's LPs, we have an Orchestra guiding Ana Lucia throughout the set lead by Maestro Carlos Monteiro de Souza, one of my favorites. The repertoire is outstanding and as The Jazzman says you should run to it, now walk. Tracks include:

01 - Quem Foi (Ribamar (1) / Dolores Duran)
02 - Água de Beber (Vinicius de Moraes / Tom Jobim)
03 - Tema do Boneco de Palha (Vera Brasil / Sivan Castelo Neto)
04 - Brincadeira de Amor (Oscar Castro Neves / Giséle Savart)
05 - Maria dos Olhos Grandes (Caetano Zamma / Carlos de Queiroz Telles)
06 - Ilusão à Toa (Johnny Alf)
07 - O Azul do Céu (Vera Brasil / Myriam Ribeiro)
08 - Verdade de Amor (Chico Feitosa / Maria Helena Toledo)
09 - Moço da Lágrima Triste (Chico Feitosa / Maria Helena Toledo)
10 - Só Amor Em Minha Vida (Luis Bittencourt / João Mello)
11 - Canção Para Ninar Meu Bem (Vinicius de Moraes / Baden Powell)
12 - Se Você Vier (Oscar Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini)

Movie | Alo Amigos! (1942) with Ary Barroso and Aloysio de Oliveira

We have here a great, great, great film sent by Jean Yves (Jean do Trombone) to be used in a possible future tribute or homage to Aloysio de Oliveira and Ary Barroso. Sorry Jean, I could not wait. The nice parrot you see above is my friend Ze Carioca, a Disney cartoon character created in 1942 for the movie Alo Amigos (Saludo Amigos), which is the movie you see below and you should not miss. The music is from Ary Barroso and Aloysio de Oliveira sings.

Thanks Jean Yves for pointing this amazing piece of happiness made 65 years ago and fresh as made yesterday.

Hope uEnjoy!

Juarez - Sax Maravilha Sambas (1976)

Hello, Good Night! I had a meeting today at Rio de Janeiro, downtown area and this time I was really convinced that going back home after meeting end should be the best idea. I was wrong. Although my mind was really decided to go back home a strange force, such like a tractor ray, pushed my body in the direction of Emporio do Disco at Rua Goncalves Dias. I could only understand what happened in the two hours out of my consciousness later on having a snack and figuring out why my fingers were so dirty. Loronixers will appreciate it. The fishing was amazing.

This is Juarez - Sax Maravilha Sambas (1976), for CID. I'm very happy with this record, but very disappointed to do not have the original issue with the amazing cover you can see at your left eye. The record name was changed to Saxsambando in its 1983 re-issue, for the same CID, and the cover artwork is not inspiring as the original one. Anyway, it is a Juarez LP; to please Loronixers and make our friends Caetano Rodrigues, bossanovadreamer and Jean Yves hit the ceiling. The repertoire is popular, based on 70's radio hits. Tracks include:

01 - Argumento (Paulinho da Viola) -- Leonel / Leonor (Wilson Moreira / Nei Lopes) -- Mestre Sala dos Mares(João Bosco / Aldir Blanc)
02 - Moro Onde Não Mora Ninguém (Agepê / Canário) -- Tô Chegando Já Cheguei (Picolino da Portela / Caipira) -- Quantas Lágrimas (Manacéa)
03 - O Ouro e a Madeira (Ederaldo Gentil)
04 - Pôxa (Gilson de Souza)
05 - Saudades da República (Artulio Reis)
06 - Os Meninos da Mangueira (Rildo Hora / Sergio Cabral)
07 - Aquarela Brasileira (Silas de Oliveira)
08 - Na Beira do Mar (Gracia do Salgueiro) -- O Mar Serenou (Candeia)
09 - Moça (Wando)
10 - Se Não For Amor (Benito di Paula)
11 - Brasil Pandeiro (Assis Valente)

Lucio Alves - Cantando Depois do Sol (1961)

Sometimes you need to yell "STOP THE PRESS", that's exactly what happened a few minutes ago; the bossanovadreamer just sent an amazing contribution that I had to change the plans for today. I have been speaking with the bossanovadreamer for some weeks about one of the greatest Brazilian singers that have few releases at Loronix. The bossanovadreamer bought this LP while in Brazil on one of that amazing vinyl shops downtown Rio.

The bossanovadreamer also asked to make this post dedicated to the great Caetano Rodrigues. He said Caetano is providing such great moments to Loronixers and the bossanovadreamer is sending this LP just to please Caetano and give feedback to the great amount of work and gratittude he is making to zeca and all Loronixers, specially the ones who Loves the Bossa Nova. Thanks for everything, Caetano.

This is Lucio Alves - Cantando Depois do Som (1961), for Philips. It is easy to explain how important is Lucio Alves with a single fact: when finishing a record, Joao Gilberto uses to pick up the album to get the blessing of Lucio Alves as the first to hear and give feedback to Joao Gilberto LPs. Maestro Carlos Monteiro de Souza is in charge of orchestra arrangements. Thanks bossanovadreamer, Caetano will be pleased to see your gift to him. Tracks include:

01 - Emília (Wilson Batista / Haroldo Lobo)
02 - Tema Sem Fim (Lúcio Alves)
03 - Madrugada 3 05 (Antônio Maria / Ismael Netto / Reinaldo D. Leme)
04 - E Nem Sei do Amor (João Mello)
05 - Verdadeiro Amor (Gilvan Chaves)
06 - Esperei (Daisy Amaral)

10 - Minha Palhoça (J. Cascata)
11 - Alfa e Omega (João Mello / Baden Powell)
12 - Poema da Chuva (Claribalte Passos)

This is a nice video with Lucio Alves playing guitar, Cyro Monteiro (voice), Albino Pinheiro, Sergio Cabral, Elke Maravilha and Carmina Mascarenhas. Nice to see Lucio Alves on video.

Announcement | Post Fixing - Wave II

I'm coming back from the week of June 11th. What I week! I have to admit, the several friends who were crying for the fix were absolutely write about that week. Most of the albums are really solid. Check by yourself at the rotator above. The week was not completely jeopardized, but at least is now powered by the new Rapidshare. I could live the rest of my days on a desert island with that albums, Julie London singing Cry me a River on my ear and Diana Krall playing the piano. Don't miss it.

This is the updated week June 11, at Loronix, here.

Hope uEnjoy!

Music Video | Sylvia Telles - A Felicidade

I could not wait until tonight to share this video with Loronixers. This is Sylvia Telles being interviewed before leaving Brazil for a month in Europe, probably to the concert in Germany, 1966. Sylvia Telles sings A Felicidade after a short interview. The quality is not so good but worths the watching.

Hope uEnjoy!
