Jorge Ben - Africa Brasil (1976)

Hello, good evening! It is really hard to believe this album is now out of print. It is considered by many important people as one of the best popular music albums ever recorded in Brazil. If you take a look around Rate your Music, Amazon or any other customer reviews website you will understand what I'm saying. I'm sure most of Loronix's friends already have this album, but I think Africa Brasil also belongs to Loronix, and I hope you have a great time with this acclaimed record. Let's see.

This is Jorge Ben - Africa Brasil (1976), for Philips, featuring well-known Jorge Ben tunes, including Ponta de Lanca Africano (Umbabarauma) -- the opening track and my selection to Loronix Preview Center -- Taj Mahal, Xica da Silva, Camisa 10 da Gavea and others. Edu Lobo - Limite das Aguas (1976)

Hello, good evening! Brazil has a lot of music and albums to discover and sometimes you get surprised with a new discovery. I need to admit that I never had the chance to listen carefully a single album released by Edu Lobo in the 70's, in spite of having some knowledge about his work in the 1960's with Tamba Trio and Nara Leao. I was missing great music, this album has an unique atmosphere and is hard to believe it has gone out of print. Let's see.

This is Edu Lobo - Limite das Aguas (1976), for Continental, featuring one of the most requested artists by Loronix community, backed by a constellation of Brazilian musicians. Edu Lobo delivers a blend of Jazz with Brazilian music from Nordeste, Northeast region. Arrangements are in charge of Mauricio Mendonca, also known as Mauricio Maestro from the vocal group Boca Livre. Joyce vocals can be heard in two tracks, as described at personnel listing section. Toquinho & Vinicius de Moraes - Toquinho / Vinicius & Amigos (1974)

Hello, good evening! My pick for this Saturday was decided on a different manner. I'm in a rush here, and I did not took this album for a hearing the way I use to do. But you should agree it is not necessary. This album never had a CD reissue and it unknown to many friends. The little I heard was enough to understand this record is such like a friend's meeting, very relaxed session. The duo brings to studio renowned friends, such like Maria Bethania, Maria Creuza, Sergio Endrigo and Cyro Monteiro, which is his last record session participation before his passing in the same year. Let's see.
