Angela Maria - Para Você Ouvir e Dançar (1958)

I don't have words to describe how beautiful, wonderful and astonishing is this 1958 GEM from the Legendary Angela Maria, unquestionably, the best Brazilian singer of all times.

Para Você Ouvir e Dançar is the name of this 1958 LP from Copacabana.

Maysa, Elza and now Angela. You are forcing me to visit your blog several times a day in hopes of new treasure. Thanks.

Hello David Federman,

I was sure that Angela would be appreciated and kept amongst your favourites.

In fact, she is wonderful. There are several career records and it is very hard to point the best.

BTW.: I have been researching on your last comment about the Brazilian standards, such as we have available in the US. Believe me, it is something that was never formally structured from our researchers.

I'm fascinated about this subject and I will have lunch with a friend next Thursday that will try to bring more clarification on that.

I'm looking forward to take this issue back to you later this week.

Zeca,

talvez alguns fãs de Angela se interessem em saber que ela gravou uns discos avulsos na Inglaterra, nos anos 50.
alguém tem de escrever uma longa e detalhada biografia e discografia dessa mulher (como a de carmen miranda por ruy castro).

Listening to Maysa sing "You Better Go Now" this morning made me realize how much American singers like Billie Holiday, Jeri Southern, and June Christy meant to your divas. But now I also realize how much your singers meant to ours. The 1950s and 60s boast so many glories of cultural exchange. I just hope people realize the importance of what you are doing. You have certainly changed my life and listening habits. Thanks again.
