K. Sadowski Bossa Nova Combo - Bossa Nova Polish EP (1963)

Taking the rare and obscure day to the extreme, zecalouro proudly presents a Bossa Nova Polish EP made in 1963 by K. Sadowski Bossa Nova Combo.

Very nice EP, four tracks with Brazilian songs and Sadowski compositions. A wonderful sax played such like Getz, piano, bass, guitar and drums. Our Loronix friends from Poland will be mad with zecalouro but the only thing that needs a real improvement on this EP is the rhythm section, it is not Bossa Nova, but something like Rumba or Salsa. Anyway, the EP is so great that it is just a detail.

K. Sadowski Bossa Nova Combo is L. Urbanska (vocals), W. Kruszynski (sax), J. Sidorenko and W. Kowalski (guitar), K. Sadowski (piano), A. Skorupka (bass), J. Gawrych and J. Bartz (drums). Tracks include:

01 - Desafinado
02 - W Samo Poludnie
03 - Bossa Nova Blues
04 - Suliman

Yes, I understand. When I listen to American jazz I find the drumming to be boring. Brasilian jazz has that worked out.

Zeca,

OMG, what a rare treasure again! I've been looking for it for ages, thank you very much!
I think Krzysztof Sadowski is the grooviest hammond organ player in Europe. (If you don't believe me, just check the Polish Jazz vol.21 LP ( http://www.polishjazz.com/pjs/21.htm ) or his group's 'Na Kosmodromie'-titled LP! ;-) )
And yes, Novi Singers play very good bossa nova (& funk), they brought really New (&) Original Vocal Instruments to the music! :-)

... & at least one more polish group should be mentioned: Bemibem (~ 1971-1977) or Bemibek (~ 1970-1993) played really fine bossa nova, jazz, easy listening & funk, it is worth to check their music too!
