Carlos Lyra, Lais, Lucio Alves, Silvinha Telles, Vinicius de Morais e Conjunto Oscar Castro Neves - Bossa Nova Mesmo (1960)

When zecalouro received this LP, came to his mind that it was another various artists or compilation. Big mistake, perhaps this can be considered one of the first Bossa Nova albums. Produced by Aloisio de Oliveira and arranged by Oscar Castro Neves, this LP was recorded with one purpose in mind, to introduce Bossa Nova and its main artists to the public.

O Conjunto de Oscar Castro Neves plays in all tracks. This also landmarks the first time Vinicius de Moraes puts his voice on a record in his career. Just to the records, this LP features Conjunto de Oscar Castro Neves, Carlos Lyra, Lais, Lucio Alves, Sylvia Telles and Vinicius de Moraes.

There is only one thing that disturbs zecalouro, the cover. How should they make a record to introduce such a bright and happy music with such a dark and serious artwork? Tracks include:

01 - So em Teus Bracos - Oscar Castro Neves (Antonio Carlos Jobim)
02 - Pela Luz dos Olhos Teus - Vinicius de Moraes (Vinicius de Moraes)
03 - Eu Tambem Preciso de Voce - Oscar Castro Neves (Sylvia Telles)
04 - Obrigada meu Bem - Sylvia Telles (Sylvia Telles / Aloysio de Oliveira)
05 - Chora tua Tristeza - Oscar Castro Neves (Oscar Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini)
06 - Com Voce - Sylvia Telles (Julio Hungria)
07 - Patinho Feio - Lais (Oscar Castro Neves / Dolores Duran)
08 - Bim Bom - Oscar Castro Neves (Joao Gilberto)
09 - Tem do de Mim - Carlos Lyra (Carlos Lyra)
10 - Menina Feia - Lucio Alves (Oscar Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini)
11 - Meditacao - Oscar Castro Neves (Antonio Carlos Jobim / Newton Mendonca)
12 - Gosto do Seu Olhar - Oscar Castro Neves (Iko Castro Neves / Luvercy Fiorini)

I think I read something about this album in Ruy Castro's famous book on Bossa Nova.

Thank you for the posting, and for everything.

Oi Zeca,

If anyone can tell me where to find the music and/or lyrics for "Obrigado meu bem" by Sylvia Telles and Aloysio de Oliveira, I would really appreciate it! Anybody?
