Elizeth Cardoso - O Inverno do Meu Tempo (1979)

Hello, good evening! I was busy tonight, working on new features to Loronix, which is an update and a complete redesign of our album search application, Loronix Find it. I like to develop new things to Loronix. It is very important to improve Loronix on regular basis. It is also very fun to make such things. So fun, I miss the time for this update. By the way, a required upgrade of a really solid album released in the end of 2006, and recorded by one of my favorite singers, Elizeth Cardoso. Let’s see.

This is Elizeth Cardoso – O Inverno do Meu Tempo (1979), for Som Livre, featuring Elizeth Cardoso backed by a breathtaking cast of musicians, including Baden Powell performing his composition Velho Amigo on track 11. It is fantastic how Elizeth Cardoso delivers an above the average performance in such period of her career. She seems to be always in control of everything, from the repertoire to musicians she gathers to recording sessions. I’m tired to research, but I cannot remember a CD reissue of this classic album. Tracks include:

Elizeth Cardoso has become one of my favorite singers. But if you're going to post an album with her singing the sacred aria from "Bachiana Brasileira No. 5," you've got to post the greatest recording of this hallowed composition ever made--that of Bidu Sayao, made under the composer's, Villa-Lobos, direction in 1945. Since she is one of Brazil's musical treasures, you should also honor her with a post. Sony Masterworks released two superb collections of her recordings in 1996 and 1997. The first one contains an exqusite collection of Brazilian folk songs. I know that such a homage would be a little outside the compass of your blog, but the world needs to know of and hear this nightengale.

Bacana! Cuidado com a Zecaloura!
Valeu, Lôro. Té mais!

O, separate words I wish to note covers of albums - delight!!! They are fine. Practically, the best covers, in my opinion, at your musicians:))) All the day considered, how in an art gallery:))) (sorry for my English)))

I'm so angry!

I have to buy more storage because of all the treasures you are making available.

It hurts so good!
