I'm surprised that Pery has so many fans at Loronix. We need to check one thing, on an interview for Jo Soares a couple of months ago, Pery Ribeiro said that he was the first to record the anthological song Garota de Ipanema, question: is this Garota de Ipanema the first recording or there is another previous one released on single, EP or 78 rpm? Our wonderful Loronix community should come with an answer in a matter of seconds. Tracks include:
01 - Evolução (Geraldo Cunha / Pery Ribeiro)
02 - Me Lembro Vagamente (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
03 - Ah Se Eu Pudesse (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
04 - Rio (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
05 - Queixa Comum (Cirene Mendonça / Ricardo Galeno)
06 - Bossa na Praia (Geraldo Cunha / Pery Ribeiro)
07 - Garota de Ipanema (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
08 - O Que Eu Gosto de Você (Silvio César)
09 - Nós e o Mar (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
10 - Canção de Fim de Tarde (Tereza Souza / Walter Santos)

YES---this album contains the very first ever recording of the legendary "Garota De Ipanema," recorded a matter of weeks after the song was composed and first performed by Tom Jobim, Joao Gilberto, Vinicius De Moraes and Os Cariocas during their legendary 2-week residency at Rio's Au Bon Gourmet in August 1962....the second recording was, I believe, by Claudette Soares shortly thereafter (and she got some of the words wrong!).
Great album! Thank you for sharing it.
