Manfredo e Seu Conjunto - Bossa Nova Nova Bossa (1963)

I was really decided to make a classic Samba Jazz album as the last post of the day and I hope my choice will make Loronix friends really pleased. It has been a while since we made available an album by Manfredo Fest, a gifted pianist that released several albums in the style in the 60's. Bossa Nova Nova Bossa features Manfredo Fest with a Conjunto, not as a traditional trio, and accompanied by great musicians. This album was first made available with the help of Low Cost Music and now comes back to Loronix as it is no longer commercially available. Let's see.

This is Manfredo e Seu Conjunto - Bossa Nova Nova Bossa (1963), for RGE, one of the earliest Manfredo Fest releases featuring a repertoire of Bossa Nova standards performed in Samba Jazz style. In this session Manfredo Fest plays piano, sax and organ, being also in charge of arrangements. Toninho Pinheiro, Hector Costita, Clayber and Os Titulares do Ritmo are Conjunto members, as described on personnel listing. Tracks include:

Zero comments on a Manfredo Fest album. Again I find myself amazed, I have not been able to keep up with loronix for a long time and when I return I see this. Samba Jazz is represented by Manfredo Fest in a very nice way, he is an essential artist, and I would encourage all loronixers to try out his works. I mean, if you're not completely obsessed only with Choros or the likes :P
