Hello, good evening! It is very hard to track down information about artists that everybody knows and it is, in theory, impossible to find information about artists that we never heard about. This is what happens with Pedroca, a Brazilian piston player that I had the chance to listen for the first time this week. As far I could search, Pedroca was active on recordings since his first 78 rpm for Todamerica in 1950 until his last known album, which is this one, recorded in 1959. Let's see.
This is Pedroca, Seu Piston e Seu Conjunto - Atendendo a Pedidos... (1959), for Sinter, featuring Pedroca performing a repertoire of Brazilian and international standards, including a nice rendition of Raul de Barros Na Gloria. Atendendo a Pedidos... stays in the middle of a Para Dancar and a Gafieira LP with very nice piston player by Pedroca. I don't need to say this cover artwork is really fantastic; let's keep the pace of beautiful covers today, such as we did yesterday. Tracks include:
- Chega de Saudade (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
- Prece de Amor (René Bittencourt)
- Que Te Parece (Julio Gutierrez)
- Prece (Vadico / Marino Pinto)
- Mambo Jambo (Perez Prado)
- Sé Muy Bien Que Vendrás (A. Nuñez)
- Pecado (Pontier / Francini / Bahar)
- Samba Que Eu Quero Ver (Djalma Ferreira / João de Barro)
- Love Me Forever (G. Lynes / B. Guthrie)
- Cancion Del Alma (R. Hernandez)
- Na Glória (Ari dos Santos / Raul de Barros)
- Lamento (Djalma Ferreira / Luis Antônio)
