This album is dedicated to our great friend Trix completing the advanced age of 21 this weekend. Trix has a deep knowledge of whatever you think about Brazilian music, no matter the decade or style and what amazes me most he has only 21. In 1978, Marilia Medalha launched Boias de Luz at Continental Label with arrangements by Dory Caymmi and Gonzaguinha. This album went unnoticed at that time, but is truly a masterpiece. Marilia Medalha became a famous singer with Festivais da Cancao performances with Edu Lobo and Momento 4uatro. Marilia never was an active performer, releasing only a couple of albums. In Boias de Luz, Marilia starts with a killing opening track 01 - Nos, Os Grandes Artistas (Luiz Gonzaga Jr.), delivering nice interpretations of Sambas from Ze Ketti, Abel Silva, Sueli Costa and others across this session. With no recording activity since 1992, Marilia Medalha has a great importance on Brazilian popular Music. We want her back! Thanks Trix!
