Hello, good evening! I spent a lot of time deciding the album we would have today at Loronix. It happens every day, it is always very hard to make this choice. All options were very good, each one with its ups and downs, but in the last minute I thought it would be a great idea to bring Gal Costa back to Loronix front page. It has been quite a time since her last release was made, and she is an artist that everybody loves. Let’s see.
This is Gal Costa – O Sorriso do Gato de Alice (1993), for BMG RCA, featuring Gal Costa with Arto Lindsay production and a constellation of special guests. Although issued very recently in 1993, this album has been unexplainably out of print. I read some reviews today and it is interesting how they vary at the extreme, with some people saying this is Gal Costa at her best and others – probably influenced by the arrangements with lots of percussions – saying it does not add much to Gal Costa discography. I think Jorge Ben fans with have a nice entertainment with Sorriso do Gato de Alice, featuring several Jorge Ben songs, including Alkahool, one of my favorites here. Tracks include:Special Guests
