Hello, good evening! I think I'm getting older very fast this year and losing my good memory for albums. I was looking for something by Maestro Antonio Carlos Jobim and I did not remember this soundtrack as Jobim's regular career album. By the way, this post was only possible with the help of the mysterious friend and his huge and amazing collection made available to Loronix community. This is Loronix tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim years passing in 08 December 1994. Antonio Carlos Jobim will be missed forever. Let's see.This is Antonio Carlos Jobim - Gabriela | Trilha Sonora Original (1983), for RCA, featuring Antonio Carlos Jobim and Gal Costa, based on Jorge Amado Gabriela, Cravo & Canela novel. Gabriela should not be taken as TV Globo soup opera soundtrack released in 1975 by Som Livre, Gabriela belongs to the 1983 film, directed by Bruno Barreto and starred by Sonia Braga -- the "original" 1975 Gabriela -- and Marcelo Mastroianni. I did not see this film, but the soundtrack is really pleasant, featuring arrangements by Oscar Castro Neves with Tom and Gal Costa singing and performing together in a few tracks. Loronix Preview Center peak is the opening track, an instrumental tune by Jobim which alone worth the whole record. Tracks include:

I am lucky to have this wonderful soundtrack album in my CD collection. I found it in a second-hand music store 5 years ago, and bought it for only 3 euro. I never liked Gal Costa very much, but her voice on this album has really this silky quality as Jobim praised.

Never seen this before and being a devoted fan of Gal Costa I find this a most lovely surprise. Christmas comes early this year.
O proprio "Panama" do Tom é o que Mastroiani lhe da como prova de amizade nesso encontro.
