MPB-4 - MPB-4 (1966)

I could not find a reasonable answer for a friend question this week regarding the absence of the legendary Brazilian vocal group MPB-4 solo releases. Good question by this friend. MPB-4, with Os Cariocas and Quarteto em Cy, are together the most important Brazilian vocal groups of all time releasing several albums during decades since the 60’s.

This is MPB-4 - MPB-4 (1966), for Elenco, MPB-4 debut LP, produced by Aloysio de Oliveira and arranged by Maestro Lindolfo Gaya. MPB-4 is more associated with the Brazilian MPB from the 70's while Os Cariocas started earlier with a strong association with Bossa Nova from the 60's. Perhaps this is the reason for this late appearance at Loronix. Tracks include:

01 - Manhã de Liberdade (Nelson Lins e Barros / Marco Antônio Menezes)
02 - Agora É Cinza (Alcebíades Barcelos "Bide" / Armando "Marçal")
03 - Juca (Chico Buarque)
04 - Poema do Mar (Márcio Proença / João Carlos)
05 - Sonho de Um Carnaval (Chico Buarque)
06 - Olê Olá (Chico Buarque)
07 - Tereza Tristeza (Chico Buarque)
08 - Lamento (Pixinguinha / Vinicius de Moraes)
09 - Trem Parador (Sergio Ricardo)
10 - Samba Lamento (Luis Marçal Neto)
