Orquestra Tipica Copacabana - Convite ao Tango (1959)

Hello, good evening! I think it is time to introduce an acclaimed musical style that has some influence on Brazilian music. I'm talking about Tango, originated by European immigrant in Argentina and Uruguay. Tango is played by a sextet, which is called Orquestra Tipica, featuring two violins, piano, double bass, and two bandoneons. Tango is instrumental music and sometimes includes lyrics. Tango is also a dance, naturally associated with Tango music. This album is a real find, I will tell why. Let's see.

This is Orquestra Tipica Copacabana - Convite ao Tango (1959), for Copacabana. Little I know about this session, which is an authentic Orquestra Tipica, conduced by a Brazilian maestro and musicians. I'm not versed on Tango to guarantee if these tracks are performed such as original Tango music, but the outcome is nice and the repertoire features only Brazilian compositions from renowned composers, such as: Herivelto Martins, David Nasser, Giacomo Pesce and his daughter Lina Pesce, Mario Mascarenhas, among others. I think our friends from Argentina and Uruguay will take this one with a great curiosity. Tracks include:

01 - Carlos Gardel (Herivelto Martins / David Nasser)
02 - Compadrito (Giacomo Pesce)
03 - Não Digo o Nome (Jair Amorim)
04 - Al Besarte (Giacomo Pesce)
05 - Vermelho 27 (Herivelto Martins / David Nasser)
06 - Mentindo (Eduardo Patané / Lourival Faissal)
07 - Fatalidad (Lina Pesce)
08 - Amor Cigano (Mário Mascarenhas)
09 - Noviecita (Lina Pesce)
10 - Vencida (Eduardo Patané)
