Agostinho dos Santos - Agostinho dos Santos (1956)

Hello, good evening! I think tomorrow night we can rely again with the server that run the external Loronix applications. The temporary server is doing a great job and nobody is having a bad experience as I thought we would have. Unfortunately, all videos already available are down since Tuesday. In the other hand, this outage is really bad from my perspective; I would like very much to afford a dedicated hosting instead of sharing the same space with others.

Anyway, this is a boring subject and we are here to talk about MUSIC, which is the great fun of Loronix. I want to start today with the debut LP of a gifted singer, which could have build a fantastic career if he had not left us so early, I speak of Agostinho dos Santos. Let's see.

This is Agostinho dos Santos - Agostinho dos Santos (1956), for Polydor, featuring arrangements and conduction by Maestro Simonetti. This is a very old album with Agostinho dos Santos performing a repertoire of Brazilian tunes and Brazilian versions of American songs. It is a very curious 10-inch with lush orchestrations by Maestro Simonetti. The back cover features lots of information about Agostinho dos Santos on a very nice text written by a not credited author. Tracks include:

01 - Falam Meus Olhos (Fernando Cesar / Nazareno de Brito)
02 - O Vendedor de Laranjas (Betinho / Heitor Carilo)
03 - A Ultima Vez que Vi Paris - The Last Time I Saw Paris (Jerome Kern / Haroldo Barbosa)
04 - Nao Digo (Sebastiao Gilberto / Antonio Bruno)
05 - Meu Benzinho - My Little One (Howe / Gussin / Cauby de Brito)
06 - Pif Paf (Portinho / Falcao)
07 - E Tao Gostoso Amar - Open the Window of Your Heart (Hoffmann / Manning / Edson Borges)
08 - Cancao do Mar (Frederico Brito / Ferrer Trindade)
