Egberto Gismonti - Egberto Gismonti (1969)

Hello, good evening! Here we go with another nice album sponsored by Jorge Mello, which is the very first Egberto Gismonti LP, recorded for Elenco in 1969. If you are used with Egberto Gismonti albums released after his departure from Brazil, you will have a surprise with this one. Gismonti sings and the whole atmosphere is Bossa Nova, although released in a time where the movement had already lost his momentum. Let’s see.

This is Egberto Gismonti – Egberto Gismonti (1969), for Elenco, featuring a blend of vocal and instrumental tracks with Egberto Gismonti singing, arranging all tracks and playing piano, violao and organ. There are two very special guests, Dulce Nunes, singing with Egberto Gismonti at 09 - Clama Claro and Durval Ferreira playing violao on 03 – Pr’um Samba. The whole session features accompaniment by the renowned Wilson das Neves and Sergio Barroso, as described in personnel listing. Tracks include:

This record spins beautifully. My favorite by this artist. Low-key & also reminds me of a film score that I never saw.

Thank you for your great work
and your engagement for
Brazilian music.
You are doing a great job !

I downloaded the flac-version
of Egberto Gismonti
twice, but I cannot open it.
I use winrar and get
"The archive is either in unknown format or damaged"

the mp3-archive works though!

Prum Samba.
Esse é um grande encontro.
Egberto e Durval.
Se não me engano tem esse tema gravado pelos dois na casa do Pics aqui no Loronix.
Na Radio Amendoeira.

I got burned on the Flac too - downloaded twice and it's definitely a corrupt file.
