Hello, good evening! This album brings a live recording featuring the Brazilian poetry, composer, singer and diplomat Vinicius de Moraes and the acclaimed Amalia Rodrigues, perhaps the most important Portuguese singer, known as “Rainha do Fado” the “Queen of Fado”, which is a Portuguese music genre. Vinicius de Moraes was friend of Amalia Rodrigues and according with back cover liner notes this album was recorded in 19th December 1968 at Amalia Rodrigues place, on a farewell meeting to Vinicius de Moraes, leaving Portugal at that time. Let’s see.

This is Vinicius de Moraes & Amalia Rodrigues – Amalia / Vinicius | Vinicius / Amalia (1970), for Decca, a live performance, recorded without the participants consent using hidden microphones. The session has the atmosphere of a friend’s meeting, featuring music and poetry, also including renowned Portuguese poetries, such like: David Mourão-Ferreira, Natália Correia, Carlos Ary dos Santos and Alain Oulman. This record was released two years after the performance in 1970, and I’m presenting here the first Portuguese issue in the original double LP format.
