Welcome to Music from All Countries @ Loronix

Hello, Good Evening! We are starting Loronix celebration to 1M hits. Music from All Countries. In the next days we will be in touch with music from the ten countries that sent most visitors to Loronix, music selected by the mighty Caetano Rodrigues that once again put all his passion, heart and resources in the benefit of our community and Loronixers.

Additionally, a new promotion was launched and everybody who participates can win a wonderful gift, just as our friend Lemuel Cabrera did in the last promotion, Caetano's Bossa Nova book. There are two different ways to participate, using the globe link at the right panel to indicate links of music websites you know from any country and using the turntable icon to indicate Bossa Nova albums recorded by Brazilian or international artists outside of Brazil.

Thanks once again for supporting Loronix. In a couple of minutes we will be showing our first country, Canada, which is number 10.

Thanks, zeca

Tito Madi - Amor e Paz (1963)

This is a contribution of a great enthusiast of the music from Brazil, a great enthusiast of Loronix and a very good friend of zecalouro, the legendary bossanovadreamer, one of the first bloggers who created and maintained a blog dedicated to Bossa Nova at blogspot.com. bossanovadreamer dedicated this post to so many people that I will not list them here, I will just dedicate to Loronixers, which is everybody who stay connected with our community. Thanks bossanovadreamer, the effort you put on Brazilian music cause has no parallel.

This is Tito Madi - Amor e Paz (1963), for Entre/CBS, with orchestra arrangements, direction and conduction by Astor Silva. Self-explanatory release awaited by many Loronixers. I received a message from a friend saying that Loronix needs to approach more Tito Madi albums. I agree, Tito Madi discography is huge, mainly from the late 50's to 60's where he released almost fifteen LPs and 10-inches. Thanks for this one, bossanovadreamer. Tracks include:

I have been thinking about making this post for a long time, but it has been postponed due an issue. I decided today to show it to Loronixers. Elza Soares & Miltinho - Elza, Miltinho e Samba Vol. 3 (1969)

Hello, Good Evening! Loronix Music from All Countries was very good. I hope there is someone to read this lines. It seems that everybody is locked at home hearing the great music we had in this four-day celebration. We are always open to ideas and any kind of feedback to adjustments and new improvements. Tell us if you have a new event idea or any existent feature that you see an opportunity to improve. I can't stop thinking about our next event.

I'm bored today. An essential piece of hardware at Loronix has broken today and I cannot replace it with an equivalent. My Honeywell Super Turbo High Performance Fan - HWL-HT800 stopped working after 7 years cooling my office and IT equipment. Honeywell is not in Brazil, so I cannot replace with another and even fix the existent since the plastic cabinet is sealed. I will ask a special favor to Loronixers, this Turbo High Performance Fan is sold by US$ 15,00 in average on every good on-line store I could check today. I pay the cost and transportation expenses if someone can make it. I will be truly grateful for the forthcoming 7 years.

This is Elza Soares & Miltinho - Elza, Miltinho e Samba Vol. 3(1969), for Odeon. You know that Saturday we start the day with Samba and we can't go wrong with Samba performed by this legendary duo, Elza Soares and Miltinho. This is the third out of three albums they made together for Odeon and we are closing this series, Volumes 1 and 2 are already available at Loronix. Tracks include:

Tamba 4 - Tamba 4 (1969) | Recorded in Mexico

When I was planning with Caetano our next Tuesday All Countries at Loronix homage we spent a lot of time trying to realize how great would be Bossa Nova in Mexico and how many albums were recorded in Mexico by Brazilian artists. By heart, I can list, Tamba Trio, Leny Andrade, Joao Gilberto, Carlos Lyra and many others. Our estimate is that several unknown albums are available in Mexico, recorded by Brazilian artists or Bossa Nova albums recorded by Mexican musicians. That's the spirit of All Countries at Loronix, to identify music and also create links to music websites to our community and develop knowledge exchange with both countries.

That's why the closing post today is dedicated to a Brazilian group recording Brazilian music in the country that should bring most information though our initiative. Mexico.

This is Tamba 4 - Tamba 4 (1969), for Orfeon Videovox (Mexico). The last Tamba 4 LP, which is the continuation of Tamba Trio as a quartet. For this last LP, Tamba 4 features Tamba Trio members Bebeto and Ohana plus Laercio de Freitas and Dorio Ferreira, the production is in charge of Mariano Rivera Conde. Thanks Caetano for making Tamba 4 available to Loronixers. Tracks include:

Pocho e Seu Conjunto - Dancando Com Sucessos (1960)

It is great to show another album from this artist, mainly by the circumstances this record was found, lost in the street, not exactly lost, but abandoned in the middle of CDs sold by a guy in the street. I got it on a really bad shape and now it is really a pleasure to bring it back to life and show to Loronix friends. I'm including with the package the back cover with no restoration just to give you the idea if how badly it was. In the other hand, the vinyl performed very well and the music is truly great.

This is Pocho e Seu Conjunto - Dancando Com Sucessos (1960), for RGE. Pocho (Rubens Perez), is an Uruguayan Maestro that established himself in Brazil in the late 50's, releasing several albums and participating as arranger and director of works from several renowned Brazilian musicians and singers. Pocho is one of Caetano favorites and his music is not easily found at old vinyl shops. The last Pocho album I could track was released in 1970 and no further information of his artistic career was found when I searched for info. Tracks include:

01 - Marina (R. Granata)
02 - Mira Que Luna (Elgos / Malgoni)
03 - Carinho e Amor (Tito Madi)
04 - Presidente Bossa Nova (Juca Chaves)
05 - Tintarella Di Luna (Banho de Lua) (B. de Fillippi / Migliacci)
06 - Me Leva (José Garcia / Anísio Silva / Silas de Oliveira)
07 - Menina Moça (Luis Antônio)
08 - Romântica (R. Rascel / D. Verde)
09 - El Vagabundo (V. Simon)
10 - Marcianita (J. I. Marcone / G. V. Alderete)
11 - Tome Continha de Você (Dolores Duran / Édson Borges)

Elizeth Cardoso - A Meiga Elizeth Vol. 2 (1961)

Elizeth Cardoso has more than 20 albums available at Loronix and for my surprise none of this series of five albums name "A Meiga Elizeth" from Number 1 to 5. It is amazing how great is Elizeth Cardoso discography. Moacyr Silva produced all albums released as "A Meiga Elizeth", guaranteeing some kind of quality seal throughout the series. Let's see this first one.

This is Elizeth Cardoso - A Meiga Elizeth Vol. 2 (1961), for Copacabana. Back cover brings "Elizeth Cardoso e Conjunto", unfortunately there is no complimentary info on members of this conjunto. Someone said also that Walter Wanderley takes part on albums from this series as a not credit musician, but I will leave this identification task to specialists, although I'm quite sure of it. Moacyr Silva sax tenor can be heard in most of the tracks and this is guaranteed. Tracks include:
