Elza Soares - Um Show de Elza (1965)
This is Elza Soares - Um Show de Elza (1965), for Odeon. Elza Soares and Nelsinho partnership delivers flawless results. Nelsinho understands Elza Soares, his arrangements blends with Elza rough voice, making a trombone and voice dual really unique. The repertoire selected needs also to be highlighted with Elza Soares mixing old songs from Lupscinio Rodrigues and Ary Barroso with fresh material delivered by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Donato, including also a song written by the legendary Garrincha 06 - Pe Redondo, Elza's husband at that time. Paulinho da Viola - Nervos de Aco (1973)
We had a previous and pretty recent release, Memorias Chorando, which is Paulinho da Viola playing instrumental music. Now it is time to meet Paulinho da Viola singing. Nervos de Aco is solid, you get hooked at the first second and it is all about feelings, passion and beauty. It is worth checking.
This is Paulino da Viola - Nervos de Aco (1973), for Odeon. The cover artwork says a lot about Nervos de Aco. We never know what are the feelings of an artist that are directly associated with their albums, but I'm convinced that Paulinho da Viola feels everything inside this record, pure beauty and mastery arranged and played by a constellation of Brazilian musicians. Bola Sete - The Incomparable Bola Sete (1965)
This is Bola Sete - The Incomparable Bola Sete (1965), for Fantasy. I was surprised when checking www.bolasete.com today and realize that The Incomparable Bola Sete is different from Bola Sete Tour the Force, which is a reissue of Bossa Nova. Bola Sete performs solo and accompanied by a traditional quartet. The song that I like most is 07 - Valsa de Uma Cidade (Ismael Netto / Antonio Maria), a great Bola Sete rendition. Personnel is not credited. Tracks include:

Waldir Calmon e Seu Conjunto - Ritmos Melodicos Nr. 1 (1952) - 1st Radio LP
This is Waldir Calmon e Seu Conjunto - Ritmos Melodicos Nr. 1 (1952), for Radio, a unique work of Waldir Calmon, really different from what we are used to hear on most of his albums. Most of the 8 songs of Ritmos Melodicos follow the "Dancante" formula, but there are nice surprises to check. Telefone Blues is an American Blues with English lyrics sung by a gorgeous and non-identified singer. The last track is a Waldir Calmon composition with very sophisticated arrangements for the year 1952. This is a Waldir Calmon album that worth checking out. Tracks include:
