Sacha Distel - Un Amour, Un Sourire, Une Fleur (1975)

I decided to move this fantastic Caetano Rodrigues contribution to make this album more visible. Some friends could not find it and it is reposted exactly how it was done last year, no upgrades this time, just to help new friends.

Thank you!

This is what I call "perfect happiness": sun, guitar playing and the barquinho. Who wants to be like Sacha Distel? Everybody. Thanks to Caetano Rodrigues for this nice release, Sacha Distel - Un Amour, Un Sourire, Une Fleur (1975), for EMI. Sach Distel is a French male singer that started at the age of 16 as a professional jazz guitarrist. Over his career he worked with some legends such as: Dizzy Gillespie and Tony Bennet, being established since the late 50's as a crooner.

I admit that I never had the chance to hear Sacha Distel and I'm enjoying a lot the way he sings Bossa Nova tunes with the French accent, good combination. Un Amour, Un Sourire, Une Fleur has arrangements from Raymond Gimenes. With this crazy computer crash, I did not have time to research if this LP was recorded in Brazil or France. Let's our Loronix friends from France share their knowledge this time. Tracks include:

01 - Deixa
02 - Agua de Beber
03 - The Girl from Ipanema
04 - Dindi
05 - Corcovado
06 - Je Crois Qu'On S'Aime
07 - Meditacao
08 - Voce Abusou
09 - Insensatez
10 - Susis Moi
11 - Medlley Orfeu Negro

Hi Peleon,

you have a very nice blog, for Bossa fans the Maysa-Single with "Reza" in Spanish is very interesting. Also the Bossa-Nova compacto with the Italian Basso-Valdambrini Quintetto. I think this Quintetto made a whole Bossa-Nova LP. Do you know if these tracks are taken from the LP or are this extra tracks?

Hi Loronixers,

Paola Martini has a nice blog called "La Voix de son Maître" where you can find an excellent example on how Sacha played the Jazz guitar. The recording includes some Brazilian songs. Here you are the link to this entry:

Thanks to Paola.
