Everybody knows that one of the best Brazilian music blogs, Unbreakable Microgrooves, has gone on a big hiatus. I spoke with Simon Boutman, which is the owner and maintainer of Microgrooves and we agree to make posts at Loronix of some albums that are not available there. I think this is an excellent idea and we will start with a recommendation from Simon Boutman, by the way, a really nice recommendation.
This is Dick Farney - Dick Farney Show (1961), for RGE. You will always find links to the original Microgrooves post, here. Dick Farney Show is his first LP from RGE, released just before Dick Farney made his move to Sao Paulo in the early 60's. The legendary Maestro Enrico Simonetti arranges Dick Farney Show. Self-explanatory, what else can go wrong when you have Dick Farney and Maestro Simonetti together? Thanks Simon for open this new channel between our websites and communities. Tracks include:
- Somos Dois (Armando Cavalcanti - Klécius Caldas)
- Uma Loire (Hervé Cordovil)
- Este Seu Olhar (Antonio Carlos Jobim)
- Perdido de Amor (Luiz Bonfá)
- Sem Esse Céu (Luiz Bonfá)
- A Fonte e o teu Nome (Luiz Bonfá)
- The Lady is a Tramp (Lorenz Hart - Richard Rodgers)
- It's All Right with Me (Cole Porter)
- The Song is You (Gerome Kern - Harmmerstein II)
- I Concentrate on You (Cole Porter)
- Just One of Those Things (Cole Porter)
- Speak Low (Kurt Weill - Ogden Nash)
