Phil Bodner - Manha de Carnaval and other Bossa Nova Favorites (1967)

Arriving home, zeca was shouting the word "mengo". If someone knows how to make him stop this thing, please tell me, this is unacceptable. Thank you. Moving forward with another great contribution from Caetano Rodrigues. Caetano delivers today this really nice album that I could see before only by this cute cover at his book. This album belongs to the legendary Living Jazz series of RCA and has many hidden treasures. Let's see.

don't know anything about this album but the central motive of the cover reminds me a bit of a Cal Tjader album for Verve, i think it's called smoething like "CT and the popular music of mexico and brazil". i'm a big fan of album cover artwork.
btw, today i got word that Taschen will be putting out a great book called 1000 jazz covers in 2008, with repros, articles about Rudy Van Gelder, Creed Taylor a.o. and contributions from Michael Reinboth, Partick Forge and other famous collectors. looking forward to it!!
