Ritmistas da Bossa - Balanco & Bossa Nova (1963)

This is one of the albums available at the fantastic book made by Caetano Rodrigues that I did not know. I had lucky to find it on a very good condition and the music is exactly what I thought it would be, renditions of Bossa Nova standards performed as Samba de Balanco. By the way, Samba de Balanco is defined as a variation of Bossa Nova for dancing and this is exactly what we will find here, very dancing tunes with lyrics. Let's see.

This is Ritmistas da Bossa - Balanco & Bossa Nova (1963), for Musiplay. This is the first and only album recorded by Ritmistas da Bossa, a group made of organ, sax, flute, bass, guitar, drums and piano with not credited musicians. There are some very nice tunes, especially those ones with no lyrics. Tracks include:

- Vamos Balançar (Carlos Imperial)
- É Um Estouro (Jaime Silva / Neusa Teixeira / Luis Pereira)
- Pergunte ao João (Helena Silva / Milton Costa / Renira de Lima)
- É Pra Quebrar (Silvio César)
- Só Danço Samba (Tom Jobim / Vinicius de Moraes)
- Sai Pra Lá (Pereira dos Santos / J. Santos)
- Samba de Uma Nota Só (Tom Jobim / Newton Mendonça)
- Desafinado (Tom Jobim / Newton Mendonça)
- O Pato (Jaime Silva / Neusa Teixeira)
- Barquinho (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
- O Amor e a Rosa (Pernambuco / Antônio Maria)
- Lobo Bobo (Carlos Lyra / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
