Orquestra Os Bossambistas - So Danco Samba

Caetano Rodrigues spent months on a quest that ended last week when he finally got one of the few missing piece on his great collection, which is the album shown just bellow the first picture, Bossa Brass - Bossa Brass Apresenta a Maravilhosa Musica de Antonio Carlos Jobim (no date), for Plaza. During all this time, sorry Caetano, this album was right in front of my face by a pretty unknown reissue by the obscure label DIMP as Orquestra Os Bossambistas - So Danco Samba (no date). Everyday I learn a new thing at Loronix. Let's see.

This is Orquestra Os Bossambistas - So Danco Samba (no date), for DIMP. First thing, do not let the group name cheats you, we do not have an orchestra here, but a constellation of Brazilian musicians together for a session to perform instrumental renditions of Antonio Carlos Jobim repertoire. When Caetano spoke about Bossa Brass, I did not know the session had names such like Fats Elpidio, Geraldo Vespar and Waltel Branco, playing bass. This is a great album with another awesome cover taken from another album released by Plaza as Os Saxsambistas Brasileiros, already available at Loronix. Stay with Bossa Brass or Orquestra Os Bossambistas, just pick up your favorite. Tracks include:

great, great cover. the original release, i mean. one of the most beatiful i've seen here son far. it reminds me of jazz covers from the fifties. even some 5000 series Blue Notes.
