Hello, good evening! Jacob do Bandolim discography can be divided in two different categories, as follows: career albums, including twelve LPs, several 78rpm and participations on other artists records. The twelve LPs are really hard to find, especially the first releases in the 10-inch format. The second are the tribute albums and compilations, there are many and they are not so difficult to find.
I have been gathering every Jacob do Bandolim record that appears in front of me and I'm learning a lot with the compilations, they bring very well written liner notes with very useful information about Jacob do Bandolim, including pictures, such like the ones available on this front cover, featuring Jacob do Bandolim when he was a kid with her mother and grandfather. Let's see.
This is Jacob do Bandolim - 10 Anos de Saudade (1979), for RCA Candem, remastered tracks taken from previous Jacob do Bandolim albums, including 78rpm from the 50's and some other tracks taken from LPs released in the early 60's. Jacob do Bandolim was born in 1918, and died in 1969 with the early age of 51. The back cover describes in details Jacob do Bandolim passing, a really sad day to Brazilian music.
