Here we go on the first and last record released by Luiz Carlos Vinhas e Os Kalangos, which is a group assembled by Laercio de Freitas in 1970 when he came back to Brazil after a couple of years in Mexico replacing Luiz Eca at Tamba 4. Luiz Carlos Vinhas e Os Kalangos had also not identified bassist and drummer from Luiz Carlos Vinhas Trio, regularly performing at Flag nightclub in the early 70’s. Let's see.
This is Luiz Carlos Vinhas e Os Kalangos (1971), for Top Tape, featuring on Side A the original version of Capim Gordura, composed by Laercio de Freitas in Mexico, while Side B brings an not usual rendition of Chovendo na Roseira (Antonio Carlos Jobim). Helcio Milito had the idea of recording this little piece of madness at Top Tape. Capim Gordura was big hit, playing on radio and also television, including four performances at Buzina do Chacrinha, which is something I would like very much to watch on video. Tracks include:
01 - Capim Gordura (Laercio de Freitas)
02 - Chovendo na Roseira (Antonio Carlos Jobim)
