Caetano Rodrigues was absolutely right last week when he recommended to take a look at this classic early material by the Brazilian singer and songwriter Joao Bosco, brand new artist at Loronix, in response to the last Neusa Maria release. Thanks for it Caetano, actually, I would say this album is performed by two artists, Joao Bosco and his longtime lyrics partner, the legendary Aldir Blanc. Let's check what we have inside this truly amazing cover.
This is Joao Bosco - Galos de Briga (1976), for RCA Victor, very nice produced album by Joao Bosco with mysterious boleros and ballads and very good Samba tunes. Aldir Blanc lyrics are all about the way of life in Rio de Janeiro with surrealistic scenes of futebol (soccer), wife and husband matters, favelas, etc. There is also a lot of the legendary Luiz Eca contribution to Galos de Briga, he is in charge of arrangements, conduction and also piano playing. Galos de Briga is another of those Brazilian albums from the 70's with that never ending personnel listing that makes you feel curious about when reading, made available just bellow. Tracks include:

Hello, Good Evening! Nelson Motta said one day that Brazil is essentially a country of Divas. I agree with Nelson Motta, if you browse our collection you will see there are more girls than boys available. This is not a matter of preference; it is just how things are. I thought we had reached a plateau in terms of New Brazilian singers release, but Mr. E. came this week with a new one that I never heard before and probably many Loronixers did not. When DVD players started getting popular in Brazil, some companies start making very cheap DVD with old movies, cartoons, documentaries, etc. Among that offer of low cost DVDs sold in newspaper stands, a company released a surprisingly good and never seen before concert recorded in Italy (1979), featuring Antonio Carlos Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes, Toquinho and Miucha. I remember it was paradise on earth, nice quality, full color and an excellent sound of a concert recorded on a very small theater with the atmosphere of a small celebration between these for great artists. I was really surprised with the time we take to identify all musicians on our last challenge, with that panorama photo presented. The legends were easy to identify, everybody know the faces of Djalma Ferreira, Miltinho and Ed Lincoln, but the enigma was the identification of the piston and bass player.

It is amazing this album has gone out of print, one of Sivuca's most requested albums by Loronixers. It is now time to show this breathtaking instrumental album, which is the encounter of two great instrumentalists, Sivuca and Rildo Hora, the accordion and the harmonica, both performing in all tracks.
Luiz Harding sent to us what I consider the first Os Cariocas solo video at Loronix. It is delicious to hear their performances, but it is really better to watch them singing. I don't have idea when this clip was recorded, but it is really beautiful. It was nice to see when they move the microphone away to change volumes of the vocalizations, really amazing. Hello, Good Evening! Autumn in Rio de Janeiro was the coldest on in the last 40 years. I do not remember cold temperatures such like these on May. This is a major problem for zecalouro and for the first time I had to place a heater on his room, this should be the first night with this artificial heating. Perhaps I will move to his place if the house gets colder in the middle of the night. Today we had a lot of fun with another album from one of our favorites and I could not resist showing to Loronixers.

I'm glad to share the first one, sent by Pedro Mendes Djembe, a great video collector that has an awesome page at YouTube with more than 150 videos of Brazilian Music and Jazz.
