Quarteto Nostalgia - Quarteto Nostalgia (1960) with Chaim Lewak

I remember the whole story, I was on that vinyl fair in Sao Paulo with Caetano Rodrigues, I was happy like a clown with dirty fingers browsing thousands of old Brazilian LPs. Caetano came close to me with this LP on his hand saying: "Take it! It is almost new, cheap and it is a great bargain...", I saw the cover with this marble background and I did not get inspired, so I asked Caetano, why? And he said on his trademark sentence: "É, muuuuito bom!" or "It is veeeeeery good", in english.

Once again, Caetano was absolute right about it, this is an amazing record, zecalouro likes to hear it and is starting to make sounds such like piano. I'm very happy to show it to Loronixers.

This is Quarteto Nostalgia - Quarteto Nostalgia (1960), for Berverly. Quarteto Nostalgia is all about a musician, Chaim Lewak, the pianist of Quarteto Nostalgia. Caetano Rodrigues is a big fan of Chaim Lewak and asked also that zecalouro makes a short Chaim bios, as follows: Chaim Lewak was born in Israel and arrived in Brazil in 1955, hired by the legendary Vogue nightclub. In spite of being a foreigner musician, Chaim got the Brazilian way of playing very fast, becoming a legend in the night of Rio de Janeiro. Chaim also played and collaborated on several records from Moacyr Silva. Chaim Lewak is not in Brazil, the date he left is uncertain, he moved to the United States and is probably active until today.

It is very hard to track down information about Chaim Lewak, so I invite you to take this record with you and to hear a great Jazz piano player, one of Caetano's favorite artists and so far one of my favorites 2007 records. Tracks include:
