This is Bola Sete – E a Bola da Vez (1959), for Odeon, the last album recorded by Bola Sete in Brazil before moving to the United States. I had a great time with this album tonight; Bola Sete plays with a great enthusiasm and a wonderful technique. Updates include cover artwork and music, with the availability of FLAC files. Tracks include:
01 - Minha Saudade (João Donato / João Gilberto)
02 - Um Chorinho dos Nossos (Gaúcho / Lauro Paiva)
03 - História (Fernando César / Luis Cláudio de Castro)
04 - Cadê a Jane (Erasmo Silva / Wilson Batista)
05 - Señorita Luna (Eduardo Casas)
06 - Não Manche o Meu Panamá (Alcebíades Nogueira)
07 - Ma Griffe (Bola Sete)
08 - Vai Que É Bom (Bola Sete)
09 - Eu Preciso de Você (Tom Jobim / Aloysio de Oliveira)
10 - Batucando Mesmo (Bola Sete)

You're welcome, Zeca, am honored by your post. Glad to help a little with the great work you're doing at Loronix.
Hope my updates will be of some value to Loronix readers. In addition to aiding those who want to tag their music for composer/lyricist credits, they may be helpful to Loro searchers. I have found the quantity and quality of Loronix album details makes it a better resource for Brazilian music credits information than AMG (All Music Guide).
One of the ways that Loronix has been most valuable to me is using its excellent search capabilities to look for different versions of a song I like, or other songs by its composer/lyricist. This has led me to much gold at Loronix, especially to performers and performances I had not heard before.
Best wishes for continuing success with preserving and bringing to new listeners the lost and forgotten musical treasures of Brasil- no doubt some of the best music ever made.
Hello, thank you for posting all this wonderful music. I had a question about this album... you are saying 1959 yet the recordings appear to be in stereo (i.e. different instruments placed differently between left/right speakers). Is this a reissue from original master tapes remixed in stereo or what is happening here? Presumably this is not from an original 1959 LP as the quality doesn't sound 1959? Or am I wrong? I am just curious really so any info would be of interest...
Once again thanks for all the great music...
This is the 2002 reissue from 1959 Odeon first issue, remastered with coordination of Charles Gavin at Digital Master Solution, Rio de Janeiro. The great Caetano Rodrigues gave cover artwork from his own collection and played the role of consultant.
Cheers, zeca
That explains it :) Thanks Zeca!
Eu também tenho a reedição em cedê promovida pelo Gavin.
Certa vez li que a edição original em vinil tinha os círculos coloridos como objetos soltos no envelope plástico da capa. Alguém sabe se isso procede ?
Abraços !
