Raimundo Fagner - Raimundo Fagner (1976)

It's amazing how the result of our Carnaval poll varies. Bafo da Onca and Jamelao were swapping the first place across the day. Anyway, let's talk about this artist and especially about this album. I use to hide my preferences when writing texts to Loronix, I cannot influence your choices, but sometimes it is impossible to resist on making a passionate review. I did not realize I had this album after 30 years, but my mother found it this week and said I would make at Loronix as soon as possible, and that is what I'm doing right now. Let's see.

This is Raimundo Fagner - Raimundo Fagner (1976), for Columbia, the third Fagner career LP and perhaps his best album released in the 70's, featuring Robertinho de Recife delivering a great guitar player, Wagner Tiso, Luiz Alves, Robertinho Silva, Chico Batera, among others. We have here a beauty of an album full of beautiful melodies and great acoustic arrangements. My highlight goes to 03 - Asa Partida, which is the track available at Loronix Preview Center. Tracks include:

I have this on vinyl, picked it up on the street in Rio I think for a few reais. It is truly amazing. I am also fond of Manera fru fru, manera. I have never heard his first 2 LPs so if you have those I am dying to hear them. Early Fagner is WAY UNDERRATED in my opinão! thanks!
