Today is Saturday and every Saturday starts with Samba at Loronix and even if you are not in the mood for Samba today you should not ignore this album. Starting by the beautiful cover artwork, everything works nice here. This is the first Pedrinho Rodrigues album with his accompaniment band Os Nacionais at Loronix, do not miss his first two albums recorded in the 60's that are already available at Loronix.
This is Pedrinho Rodrigues e Os Nacionais - Estao Voltando os Bons Tempos (1973), for Equipe. The third out of five albums recorded with Os Nacionais, I do not have the others and if they are on the average of this one, we have other four nice Samba albums to track down. The repertoire brings top hits Samba tunes from the late 70's and it was very nice to hear them again since childhood. Tracks include:
- Lata D'água (Luis Antônio / Jota Júnior) Levanta Mangueira (Luis Antônio) Zé Marmita (Luis Antônio / Brasinha)
- Nao Ponha a Mão (Mutt / Arnô Canegal / Bucy Moreira)
- Lamento da Lavadeira (Monsueto / Nilo Chagas / João Violão)
- O Que É Que Eu Dou (Dorival Caymmi / Antônio Almeida)
- Só Pra Chatear (Príncipe Pretinho)
- A Voz do Morro (Zé Keti)
- Trem das Onze (Adoniran Barbosa)
- A Fonte Secou (Monsueto / Tufic Lauar / Marcléo)
- Sei Que É Covardia (Ataulfo Alves / Claudionor Cruz)
- Esta Chegando a Hora (Rubens Campos / Henricão)
