Jacob do Bandolim e Seu Conjunto Epoca de Ouro - Vibracoes (1967)

I'm not exaggerating and I'm very calm and confident to say that Vibracoes is among the top ten albums available at the entire collection of Loronix, which has registered more than 1700 albums until now. This masterpiece was first made available at June 2007, through a CD transfer made by a friend of a given late 90's reissue. It is time to do it again, now with the audio transferred from the original 1967 RCA first issue, including hi-res scans from the front and back cover, full of information written by Jacob do Bandolim. Let's see.

This is Jacob do Bandolim e Seu Conjunto Epoca de Ouro - Vibracoes (1967), for RCA Candem. Listen, even if you do not appreciate choro, bandolim or instrumental music. Jacob do Bandolim and Epoca de Ouro deliver definitive interpretations and not yet overcame of standards, including also Jacob do Bandolim compositions and his magnificent Vibracoes, with overwhelming Jacob do Bandolim playing that no one is able to remain indifferent, even those who do not have a particular relationship we have with Brazilian music. I would rely on the willingness of all to exchange comments on this anthological album. Tracks include:

I really liked this record. I have not heard of Choro before, is it considered Brazilian folk music?

Hello Brian,

Thanks once again!

Choro is not folk or regional music, it was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in the end of 19th century.

It is a very rich music style with beautiful melodies and complex harmonies, mostly instrumental music. There are several Choro albums at Loronix, please let me know if you want recommendations, I can grab the best picks.

Cheers, zeca

For all choro lovers, there's a lovely documentary about modern choro musicians directed by the Finn Mika Kaurismäki. It's titled "Brasileirinho" and features such notable performers as Guinga, Zezé Gonzaga and Elza Soares.
