Paulinho da Viola is one of the artists that I learned to admire before I created Loronix. I cannot imagine how it would be my current relationship with Samba without Paulinho da Viola. He makes the perfect connection between Samba and any other Brazilian music style through the quality of his compositions, soulful interpretation, choice of repertoire and his perfect instrument playing, moving transparently between songs and instrumental themes. If someone wants to understand Samba, Paulinho da Viola is the starting point.
